Any toy you regretted letting go of?

So I don't have any pictures of them, but I had a few Neopets plush from Limited Too my sister got for me while she was staying in the US in the early 00s. At some point as I got a bit older I had a falling out with Neopets and I'm pretty sure I ended up throwing the plushies out. ;__; It was a long time ago and I don't remember exactly, so I was in denial about it for a while, but I really haven't been able to find them anywhere so I'm pretty sure that's what I did. I had a full size white Aisha, and Scorchio and Kau keychain plushies. Why didn't I just toss them in the attic???

Well... I wasn't gonna end the entire challenge on a tiny stock photo from 2002, so I snapped a photo of some of my other Neopets plush I've gotten off the internet over the past few years! Shoyru, Chia and Cybunny are my favorite species.

Toy that surprised you.

So uh... Bratz???!?? I ended up becoming a huge fan of Bratz after I literally spent the first 20 yearz of their existence finding them completely unappealing. This is something that keeps happening to me actually. I should be studied for science.

I don't really know exactly what happened, but I guess reading so many doll blogs as a hobby finally caught up to me. Two years ago I marathoned the entire TV series and I thought it was SO fun and camp.

I've binged several shows for the same demographic over the past couple of years and there's something incredibly nostalgic and comforting about them. I was a Y2K teen but I never really got the true Y2K teen experience mostly due to autism (go figure), so I'm living vicariously through them.

What line/type of toy do you own the most of?

I probably own more Pokemon and Digimon than any other toys. Pokemon is probably my favorite franchise ever, while Digimon Adventure is one of my favorite shows of all time. I've collected merchandise from both franchises for over 20 years.

I mostly focus on character-based collections, and the ways I pick my favorite Pokemon and Digimon are quite different. Electrode is my favorite Pokemon based on design and concept, while Piyomon is my favorite Digimon due to her character in the show. Therefore I also consider her evolution line the same identity as her, and consider Pyocomon, Birdramon etc. part of my Piyomon collection.

Not everything on these shelves is fully sorted and I still have a LOT in storage :') And also not pictured: all my non Electrode Pokemon stuff!!

Most sought after toy.

I have a few that I'm aware of.

Electrode and Voltorb Pokemon Monster Collection figures! These are mostly sought after by Monster Collection completists as far as I've understood. For some reason a few of the figures in the series are a lot rarer than others, including these two, who might actually be THE rarest…? Go figure.

90s Tomy smiling Pikachu plush. Apparently there's been a popularity boom in this style of old Tomy Pikachu with the button cheeks, and some in very good condition have sold for sky high prices. Wild! Do you think the old Hasbro beanies will ever become this sought after? Lol. Anyway this Pikachu is very special to me because it's my first ever Pokemon! My sister got it for me from the US in 1999, before Pokemon had even become a thing in my country.

Europe exclusive My Little Ponies! I happened to grow up at exactly the right time and the right place to own several of these. I've already shown a few throughout this challenge, but here's another, Baby Bouncy.

Tiny Toon Adventures Japanese figure keychain set. I don't think they're particularly rare or hard to find if you know where to look, but for some reason I've gotten a lot of random people asking me about them. Babs and Plucky are my favorites and the best characters. <3

Most expensive toy.

Pullip Leprotto remains the most I have ever paid for a single toy. I only did it once and I don't think I could ever do it again, but back then the stars aligned while I happened to be at the right place at the right time and I have no regrets… which is good, because the older Pullip dolls that used to cost a small fortune back in the day have plummeted in price since. Lol.

Her name is Penny and she is incredibly special to me, I adore this Pullip model SO much! Back then when I first came face to face with her I was completely smitten, and remain so to this day.

In the last picture she is accompanied by the Woori Pullip version that came out last year!

Least favorite color scheme.

This combination of this particular shade of desaturated fleshy pink with purple and/or white. Maybe not bad on its own, but it's definitely been overused in girls' toys to the point that it feels cliche and boring.

Don't tell these guys that's the prompt they were pulled out for… I still love them so much!! orz

Very partial to black/white and yellow/green and I also LOVE neon colors! So really, my preferences range from none of the colors to all the colors… :D

Do you have any non-toy merch related to a toy line? (Shirts etc.)

Presenting……… the Electrode fashion corner! Electrode is my favorite Pokemon and therefore one of my favorite fictional entities of all time and I strive to collect ALL official merchandise that predominantly features Electrode.

Ideally I'd get a life size mannequin to display these and give it a big ol Electrode head… but A Chair works just as well.

I hope you have enjoyed the Electrode fashion corner (and a closeup of random merchandise on my Electrode shelf).

Ever keep any packaging or other bits not part of the toy itself?

You got a glimpse of the cardboard cutout that came with the Lil Woodzeez diner yesterday. I just didn't have the heart to throw him out LOL. Interestingly I don't own any actual Lil Woodzeez figures...

Lately I've really been into setting aside little bits of packaging that humor me or strike my fancy. I do have a few MIB/NRFB toys as well.

Do you have any playsets?

The mini village on my desk! It consists of a Sylvanian Families treehouse, a Lil Woodzeez diner, and a couple of Tinyly playsets, and it's where my Sylvanian size toys hang out.

I gave everything a dusting before taking these photos. I've been meaning to make dust covers for the buildings from clear vinyl because I kinda can't keep up... We'll see how that goes.

First, a little bit of a brag… how I managed to save Baby Candy's original hair clip over all these years is beyond my comprehension! I was NOT a careful child. I showed Baby Ruby earlier and yes I also have her necklace (bracelet For You!). I could have SWORN I also had her bracelet (ring For You!). Maybe it will turn up as I continue the massive project of clearing out my parents' attic.

Anyway objectively speaking these are only considered cooler than other MLP accessories because they're rare. :V

The Wild Manes accessories are excellent, I think. I really like posting about Wild Manes...

I've collected re-ment and various miniatures for a really long time and I got some really neat ones. I love the Halloween themed ones in particular.

Most interesting or unusual toy.

I think the toy in my collection that makes me go "?????" the MOST is this little gachapon cat figurine molded so that you can perfectly screw a bottle lid onto it. I have no idea WHY this would even exist, but…… why not??

I'm the only person in the world who remembers "Slippets".

He probably can't be classified as all that unusual because he's a fast food toy… but my Y2K countdown Daffy Duck makes me chuckle. I love Y2K celebration collectibles.

This Johnny Bravo figure set! I could not believe they made Carl and Pops! I got them off ebay many years ago and they originally came with Jack chocolate from Argentina iirc.

Who can forget Gorgeous Creatures??? Princess Pig here is the beautiful and loving girlfriend of General Hamfat Lardo from Barnyard Commandos. Which is honestly a really interesting toy line in its own right.

Skitter is my ponysona brought to life by my friend @solosorca. <3 The Budgericar is my molcarsona designed and made by my friend Heather who isn't on tumblr.

I've commissioned quite a few handmade plush dolls from various artists over the years. These Electrodes are based on TCG illustrations!

The Funhouse monster dolls (both masked and unmasked) were made in very limited quantities by horror figure fanartists.

This is a very "girlhood is a spectrum" selection lol.

Have you ever made a custom?

Oh boy, I guess I have to show my mime Pullip to the world. Don't zoom in. She's my first ever full doll repaint, from nearly 20 years ago, and I went in pretty blind so with those factors considered… I don't think she's completely heinous. That said, I would like to wipe her and redo her someday.

I guess my 3D printed figures would count as customs? I didn't make the 3D models, but I painted them myself. Here are Shep and Pietro with an official amiibo figure.

Then there's my trio of Hairdorables from a few years back. I liked their sculpts, but not their default faceup styles, so I repainted all three of them. Please ignore the condition these are in; I'm not sure if there's a place for them in my collection so I've just been keeping them in my WIP pile. Also, the face paint one on the left is melting so she definitely needs to be completely redone lol. I did use a different type of paint on her. Duly noted.

I have done a few minor repaints as well, my most recent was giving Magic Mixlings Pixlings Wynter brown eyes. <3
