IMO I'm glad Egwene freed herself from the Seanchan this season, rather than being freed by her friends. Rand saved himself from the box...and Egwene deserves to save herself all the same.

I think that, no matter what happens with the show in season 3 and beyond, I will always love it despite the many flaws it has both with story and technical execution. Though not everything is exactly like how it went down in the books, I’ve seen some iconic scenes from WoT in the show that have met or exceeded my expectations. Even if the rest of it goes to shit, if there is a scene or two of the good stuff then I’m going to be invested as a book reader. I’d rather have a little than none at all.

So I do think Brandon has some valid criticisms of the finale. But I’m also a little surprised that he was constantly and almost rudely interjecting that “I tried to have X changed”, like he was desperately trying to defend his reputation? That was…unnecessary. I definitely had a more positive opinion of the man before seeing the livestream.

I feel bad for Daniel and Matt since you have Brandon over there who has read the script, chattering away about the thoughts that have been stewing in his head for years, and they were just trying to watch and react, not argue the whole time 😬 big yikes
