// Hello there friends! It's been a week, was bit busy bc of festivals here. For while i finished The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, which i loved🤎 A perfect creepy, wierd, mysterious victorian gothic.. just an iconic one🤎 Anyway i couldn't stop picking another horror shortstory, Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, it is originally a Spanish book, saw it suggested on goodreads & on few booktube channels! // Here's few gothics in the picture, which I'm very excited for! But tbh i have so many fall books that i keep on forgetting to read them!! // Hi there dear friends🤍 Today sharing a little review of my last read Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. The book is quite short, 270 pages something but it took me long, at first i thought my busy schedule is reason but nop it is this book! Actually it's a heavily character driven dystopian book with lack of plot/world building! Tbh i didn't care for any characters, rather at a point protagonist felt really annoying to me! First half was actually interesting with creepiness & dark academia vibes, gives a sense of something bad happening in background but nothing actually happens in 2nd half! Many say it broke their heart but not in my case here.. I'd say I'm quite disappointed😪 Let me know if you've read it & felt same! • Also what are you currently reading? // Happy weekend everyone☕ it's been few days i got back to my daily reading schedule and already started feeling "so many books, so little time"!😅 Honestly so many books I'm excited about, can't decide what to read lately! • Anyways i finished Heaven by Mieko Kawakami (4⭐) & tbh i was actually confused what to write in review! It is definitely a hard hitting book about bullying and its psychological & philosophical aspects. Gave it 4 stars based on how much i understand the underlying idea but I'm still confused how i feel about this book! Maybe that's what writer wants to imply, makes you think about opposing perspectives of bullying. And here we go it's last day of June & i need some rain showers🌧️😄 • Anyway i read The Housekeeper & the Professor by Yōko Ogawa and I'm not happy.. i didn't enjoyed it😐 Honestly i thought I'd love it, also have a high ratings on goodreads. But just couldn't connect with characters; maybe bc of the translation?! Not sure! It's fairly short book, but i had really hard time finishing it! But still have a little hope for Ogawa's The Memory Police, let me know if you've read it.
