I really do appreciate Rick and Morty getting positive attention because the passion and artistry that goes into the show is obviously a labor of love, but I can’t help but feel a little sad whenever I see someone say, ‘Wait, when did Rick and Morty get good?!’

It’s ALWAYS been good! There has always been depth to the characters. There have always been clever lines and lessons along the way. The point was never just cartoon nihilism or a justification for shitty behavior. It’s always been more than sci-fi toilet humor.

Don’t get me wrong, there are parts I also find tedious. I just wish people would really give the early series a chance before denouncing it.

I like how it's basically confirmed in "Air Force Wong" when Rick says "Sorry..." quietly while looking at the floor after snapping at Summer, that sometimes he's just mean, not because he finds joy in it, not because he's a violent person, he just lashes out and snaps at people and doesn't know why, that's honestly really realistic considering that a lot of mean people aren't mean purely because they want to be, it's just a habit, Rick is slowly crawling out of that habit, but it's definitely still there.

"Stardew is so relaxing" can not be me. I'm sweating. I've maximized the perfect time to upgrade my tools while going to catch seasonal fish. I got a pig to give me truffle with a 1 day margin of error (I had to upgrade the barn twice and buy a pig in 12 days). I've currently got 4 rabbits trapped and will execute them individually if they do not give me a foot by the end of winter. I'm stalking the beaches like batman awaiting a nautilus. I will complete this community center by the end of the year so help me stardew gods. I've talked to the towns folks maybe three times since moving in. Penny and Elliot are my only friends because I had their favorite gifts in my inventory and realized it was their birthday while checking the board. I accept no time lost. Winter is here. I shall not rest.
