I really wish The Realm would have just committed to an end date much sooner rather than let it slowly fizzle out like it has. We've gotten a decent amount of proper endings from creators which I'm happy for but I think having an agreed end date would have made things go so much smoother. I think it was technically supposed to end in like June/July because that's when a lot of people were wrapping up their arcs but it was never official so now we're just left in this awkward state of inactivity and no one knows whats going on.

It sounds like there may be a planned admin arc to end the server but I'm not sure who's even going to be left to participate in that because most of the active creators have already written their characters out of the story to give them endings rather than just sit around waiting and letting their personal stories drag. I just think so much of this could have been avoided had there been more communication sooner

So about QSMP if I rewatch old vods is that bad? Or is it different than supporting the new stuff. Because I’ve seen many people being hesitant about the QSMP and I just want to make sure.

I've watched two more VODs, there were way more interactions in the last one. Long story short of my observations so far:

tr!Freddie, in early days at least, is someone who does his best to remain approachable to people and not make enemies, mainly for survival reasons, so you genuinely end up interested when he expresses his actual feelings regarding an interaction/a person and who he is truly bonding with. Funny how that was a trait he had in common with Scott, yet they are both displayed in different ways (Scott struggles to bond because of lack of care caused by his factory reset situation, Freddie struggles to bond because of a distrustful and self-preservation nature).

Like, he very much didn't like how Ros was so quick to accuse him of stealing her axe, but the next interactions he remained friendly and saying things she might have wanted to hear so he could remain on her good side. Same happened with Pangi. It was intriguing to see the two different types of conversations he was having with them (Enabling and supporting mischief with Pangi vs enabling and supporting standing up for herself and calling Pangi a murderer with Ros).

Another example is telling Mocha he would be down to help trap people, but to himself he said that he doesn't want to kill anyone.

This cubito strikes me as the kind of character who is a thief/criminal with screwed morals, and very good combat skills, but also has his heart in the right place at the end of the day and is genuinely kind and supportive in nature.

And I love those characters.

I'm aware how things end up developing for him later down the line, so looking forward to see how that exactly turns out.

Regarding his shift from resenting snails to building the giant snail to get one and saying stuff like ''so I can go back to be a giant snail'': I can very easily make this about repetition compulsion (someone repeats or reenacts a traumatic event subconsciously to attempt to master one's fear of said trauma or replace the bad experience with a better one).

One more thing:

Freddie interacted with Scott again, updated each other about how they are doing and what they know about how Krow and Jonnaay are doing, and blue haired boy admitted that he was in progress of switching to Blue faction. Freddie asked if they would still be allies after he changes factions.

Scott: Sure. We are snail brothers, Freddie.

Freddie: Yeah!

Scott: It's a bond that trascends factions.

My gosh, give mental fortitude, in the first 3 minutes after coming out of the snail, Yellow was already threatening to kill him for having a red name, then decided not to after he begged for his life THREE F*CKING MINUTES IN, so they could proceed to propaganda about how Yellow was the only ''real'' and best faction, while Green and Red only killed each other, and that he had to make the ''right'' choice.

Third VOD:

- Freddie and Scott talked first thing. They pointed out how unpleasant they found the mission of having to kill others. Scott mentioned that they are snail boys at the end of the day, establishing a sense of unity.

Freddie: We should build our own faction, the snail faction.

Scott: Yeah! The four of us go and make our own rules!

(Eles não sabem...)

Then Scott remembered that a lot of people were messing with Jonnaay and he didn't know if he wanted to take that collateral damage as a faction member. Freddie laughed.

Freddie: Then maybe just us three then.

(Oof).

- He hung out with Aimsey and CPK for a bit. He only said to himself that he wanted to bond, but would have no problem to backstab them if he ever needed to.

This was also his first interaction with a snail of current time, Junimo. He asked more information regarding the snails.

- Later, Freddie had a long conversation with Sausage about the Realm, factions, reputations, the missions and the snails once Luna showed up. Sausage managed to convince him that snails were cute little guys who were like lucky charms, so Freddie decided he now wanted a snail.

- At one point, Ros came over and asked (accused) him about her lost netherite axe. She even directly asked that if she killed him, if he would drop the axe.

Freddie managed to calm down the situation and leave in a better note. But was still offended regarding the accusation.

- A Keeper appeared and was just watching him in complete silence, following every movement with their head. Freddie kept asking and asking, until he got the Keeper to agree to give him a snail if he builds the biggest snail build ever.

- During all of this, the impression I got by the implications and the ''I was behind bars'' casually dropped during the recent Four Warriors lore stream, it's that Freddie was a thief or in general a criminal on his original realm (like even before becoming one of the Four). He took pride on his own terms and methods of stealing, mentioned he only kills if the person deserves it, was strategizing his bonding with others for sake of his own survival and position on the Realm, etc.

And ofc Freddie was also grinding a lot, but hated the idea of losing all his time and effort by resets. He wanted to be strong.

I finished two VODs now.

Dude, the next day all Four were online at one point, and when you just know the context, all the interactions kill you a bit even more now.

Like, the day before, Freddie ended up fighting a snail, who turned out to be Krow. They saw each other eye to eye and just completely ignored one another. Then they had a bit of interaction at the very end, as he reassured Krow that it was safe to not hide anymore from the battles.

Next interactions 24 hours later, Scott is helping Freddie out with navigating himself around alongside Aimsey, all the while Mocha was watching in the corner to make sure nothing happens to them. Blue faction started to test with mazes and Scott was constantly telling Freddie to stay back and remained on his side.

A couple of hours of grinding later, Freddie and Krow meet again and it was him who suggested to her to fish to level up faster, among other tips. It's just the way that he was teaching it with that tone of reassurance, now that we know that it was Krow the strongest one in the past (Freddie was second strongest).

While he did not meet up with Jonnaay face to face, he was teasing him and being competitive in chat about improving their skills.

Another thing I found very interesting, it's that Freddie was already snail avoidant from day 1. He felt resentment because he was trapped as a snail, for years, like he is aware but not at the same time of the events. More than once he mentioned that he probably has a past he doesn't remember.

I've waited for months to watch the lore Krow just provided. The true backstory of the Four Warriors.

It's curious how this was the one piece of Realm lore that I got incredibly attached to. But think about it: the first four outworlders, described as people of great feats, were turned into snails when they got consumed by them, and now they're back in present day with no memories of their past lives or past selves.

IT'S SUCH A COMPELLING NARRATIVE, at least for me, which is why I've been given fuel that will last me so so long, and I'm already on a journey to rewatch Krow Realm VODs and also watch Freddie Realm VODs for the first time. I like a lot the fanon version of tr!Jonnaay (shoutout Keno), so I'm rolling way more with that one and I'm already the tr!Scott expert.

I have so much hype and ideas to start writing this fanfic:

A reinterpretation of the Realm lore/story/world/universe, with all Four Warriors POVs, as they are just put back in this place, forced to rediscover themselves from nothing through different experiences and dynamics. And at one point, maybe, even the chance to finally reconnect the bonds they lost... or some may not even be able to repair them at all.

But, my thumbs are still immovilized, so I can't write for long periods of time rn.

So, I literally just downloaded Milanote to put all the ideas and inspirations I have in one place. I WILL cook and I'm not letting my hype die.

Tysm, Krow, for doing the absolute cinema that was that lore finale. It has meant a lot to me as a creative and a viewer.

I think it's very interesting how so many people who are expressly queer will refuse to acknowledge that relationships can exist out of the traditional dating > partner > fiance > married pipeline

like first of all marriage is like. especially in modern day its always portrayed and thought of almost exclusively in the Modern Western Christian idea of it first of all. There's so little flexibility in what I see people consider the idea of marriage. and it's viewed in such a way of like, if you are dating it must be with the intent to get married? marriage is the ideal end point of all romantic relationships? if ur not planning to get married at some point ur basically not together?

and then there's the constant like. weirdness people have around polyamory and relationships that involve more than 1 dynamic or even just more complex single dynamics

the weirdness and jokes around QPRs or any form of relationship that falls outside of that traditional path as well

I get people who aren't in some way queer not getting it cause like. yeah. but if you're queer and you disregard or make fun of nonstandard relationship formats. what are you doing? I don't understand how you as a queer person who is in THE SAME POSITION IN TERMS OF HOW SOCIETY VIEWS YOU can not concieve of relationships outside of what society tells you is how they have to be?

i forgot to say it earlier, but now that the krow finale has really marinated in my brain, all i can think is: god, fuck the keepers...

prior to knowing everything, all we had known was that the four warriors were these fierce outworlders with respawn abilities the keepers had never seen before and were successful in ways the keepers were not at holding back the corruption. now, we know that "success" was really just four human being deprived of sleep and proper food, spending all of their time restlessly fighting back against a sentient enemy that was doomed to come after them from the beginning.

the "hesitancy" that was described to be the cause of their downfall was people being eaten alive by their experimental, prototype companions and just someone wanting to live a few days more as they went weeks without rest while simultaneously trying to process not only essentially the deaths of their loved ones but a creature that is stalking them from the ends of the earth, destining them to meet that same doom.

every traumatic thing krow, freddie, scott, and jonnaay witnessed and went through was because of the keepers using them as their outworlder guinea pigs. and all they got in return after everything was being forced onto another faction where they were predestined to become public enemy number one and steal the lives of people they don't even know for the sake of shitty unification that the keepers couldn't even do themselves.

that was their fate—to be the makeshift scapegoat for the keeper's plots because they are so completely incompetent at their own jobs. and they got away with it, just as they have every other time.

tr krow's backstory is genuinely so horrifying. working tirelessly for several nights on end fighting back against the corruption, only to return to back home (which is just a glorified cell with a few dashes of color to make it lively and lived-in) and discover your flatmate's been consumed by his snail. then you rush yourself and the only other person in the place away into your bunker, only to be too late, having to watch in real time as not only is another one of your friends consumed, but so is the person you tried saving just moments before when your back was turned. i'd try and kill a keeper too if it seemed like they were making fun of what happened to me.
