“One more thing, sir. You told me you couldn’t possibly have been at the crime scene at that time on account of your alibi, that being that you were at home playing your PlayStation 3. Now, forgive me, but if that’s true, I just gotta ask– how could you have been playing your PS3 if the PS3 has no games?”

Consent does not just apply to sex. It goes for anything. Whether that is hugs, or a pat on the shoulder, or even a handshake.
People also do not need to disclose their trauma as validation for why they do not want to be touched. People are allowed to say “no” to any form of contact, whether they have trauma or not.
Quit taking “please don’t touch me” as a personal attack on you.
Respect people’s bodies. Respect their boundaries. Please.

I'm making a new post because I've lost track, slightly, of how much was donated as I've paid bills and gotten necessities up until this point.
Hi I'm Max. At the end of June 2021 my gallbladder went on a rampage. It was formally evicted August 25th. But there were complications. Ask me about my Belly Bile Bag! Or don't. It's gross. Anyway, my insurance 100% covers the surgery, the ER visits, the hospital stay, the drain being put in, and the Sepsis treatment. Financially things could be like a hell of a lot worse. Seriously.
But 2 weeks out of work has turned into 3 and only a tiny bit of my leave was covered. I'm a single mom of 4 kids, though 1 turned 18 and flew the coop recently, and I have rent and utilities, and kid expenses to stress over. It's a lot. My income goal is to make 2k a month. I get paid on the 8th and the 23rd of each month and when I get my 40 hours I about make that goal. I also Doordash a little to make up the difference when I can. (I can't currently. Pain from the drain and surgery itself.)
My mom is a huge help but I'm stretching her really thin. I'm not getting my full 40 hours at work and she's been sending me money twice a month. It hasn't been a whole lot, but it adds up.
This check I'm due to get on the 23rd? I'm going to need the full 1,000$ from somewhere. Mom will make sure it happens but it'll royally fuck her over. She's like that (loving, grateful, frustrated). (She's retired and thus on a semi fixed income.) So I'm going to try to raise as much of the 1k as I can via donations.
Ignore my deadname, yeah?
Every little bit helps. It really does add up! And reblogs are how things like this happen!

the queer stereotype cycle often goes "queer group starts making inside jokes > these jokes are overheard by cishets > cishets now start using these inside jokes against queer people > these inside jokes fall out of favour > because queer people aren't a hivemind some queer people keep making these inside jokes > these queer people are then attacked by other queer people for perpetuating stereotypes > nobody criticises the cishets who made it into a bad thing in the first place" and youse just keep letting that go round and round.

Houma, Lafitte, Vacherie, and Port Fourchon are underwater as well due to Hurricane Ida. I’ve read some rescue tweets of people stating there’s a number of residents (one being a pregnant woman) who are trapped in their attics after trying to escape the rising water. There’s power outages in New Orleans and other Parishes. as well as some parts of Mississippi.
All of this in the middle of a pandemic…
I have friends in New Orleans that I haven’t heard from since yesterday. I’m hoping they received that alert that the electricity isn’t estimated to be returned until a month from now for New Orleans and other Parishes. Yes, a whole fucking month. However, the transmission tower is nonexistent at this point.
From this:

To this:

Was the 30-day estimate for everyone to receive power before or after they seen this demolished structure? I can’t even wrap my head around this. Complete devastation from what they’re experiencing and the lack of media coverage.

very proud of the currently-growing generation’s ability to take consent seriously
incredibly disturbed by the way some of them have really vocally decided that consent culture applies to literally everything, up to and including other people’s right to literally just exist in a public space
#agreed#but to be clear#wearing vaguely 'kinky' clothing in public#vs like actually doing a scene in public#aren't the same thing#at some point you can actually be involving people in a sexual scenario that they didn't consent to be partof#but 'the way you dress makes me uncomfortable' and 'the way you are behaving towards me is inappropriate' are not the same thing#and it's important to recognize where that line is
