Hobby Blog page of Blackwolf Studios, a semi-pro commission and personal painting service run by a 9-time RTT "Best Painted" winner who just likes putting colors on miniatures. Primarily GW stuff as I am a self-confessed addict of WFB and 40K.

Acastus Porphyrion done and added to the ranks of my Heresy-era Mechanicum forces. I have one more to do for my 40k AdMech, but for now am going to set up for a sextuplet of Eldar Hemlock fighters and a trio of Wraithlords coming in for a commission. This model was seriously cool, though.

Progress check
Current commissions are done and either back with, or on their way to, the buyers. I'm tackling my AdMech during the gap, trying to bring both 30k and 40k lists up to finished status. So far, I've finished a unit of Breachers and am currently tackling a Knight Porphyrion. I've finished all the armor plates and am working on the Carapace and missile launcher. I'm deliberately keeping the colors simple on this one,as the model itself is so intimidating that it really doesn't need a crazy color scheme. Basing was an issue, as it's too big for a standard 168x120 Knight base, so I got a pair of 100mm round bases to put one on each foot instead. Hoping to have this done by the end of next weekend, since I'm losing M-Th for a work trip. That leaves a second Porphyrion, a Castigator, a Castellax, a Titan Techpriest, a Thanatar, 3 Thallax, 6 Usarax, and an Ordinatus to go to wrap up the armies. No problem right?

Kataphron Breachers, my second maniple. They're remarkably durable and really freak out anyone with a vehicle with all the haywire and torsion. Pretty fond of these guys!
