Jacob Samuel - New Americas CD / DL
Buy Here Composed in 2018 and initially presented in London at Somerset House 2018 as an installation, New Americas is a multi channel score, translation of births deaths marriages immigration fertility. 'Samuel played this first with the speakers pointed inwards, towards the listener who sat about 20 feet away from a screen showing Minecraft buildings designed from the schematics of U.S drug busts etc. The titles read like low quality news. Like ‘does immigration rates vs births outside marriage vs death rates in Russia make you feel stupid?’ Or ‘the connection between heroin seized in the U.S vs live births since 1862 vs same sex marriage and sex’. This information was churned and played for hours. A year or so later they played it off two ceiling mounted speakers while the data pulled samples from ceremonial orchestras as flat earths were displayed in Roblox. This was about an hour. Jacob F Samuel ‘didn’t intend for people to stay that long’. The people were way too polite. Samuel had soaked tissues in lavender and put them in the radiators. Lavender can be used to re-centre you in times of stress, anxiety and during panic-attacks. ‘Someone had helped me with this (thank you Joy)’ - when you can’t even move because it’s too much. But they had miscalculated on this day and the smell in the room was almost unbearable. With the music, the light from the projector. You are so centred in the middle of all this information that it’s transcendent. It means nothing.'

deathcrash - Sundown (A Collection of Home Recordings)
Cassette of first ever bedroom recordings from this young London based post-rock band. The band rarely plays these songs live anymore, but to me, this is some of the finest work the band have done to date. You know the specialness in a bands first ever songs?, yes, this is it.

Zeropolis - Zeropolis
Formed in 2019 by two French exiles who met in London, the duo bloomed out of the concrete to deliver a gloomy — yet danceable — strain of post-punk crafted from pounding electronic beats, detuned synths and icy guitars.
Their self-titled debut EP was born with a definite DIY attitude, from the construction of a home-made recording studio in an East-London warehouse (that got demolished for luxury apartments to be built before the album was even completed) to the directing of the video for “Your Life” (a dystopian song about how Internet spying has turned us into a stalking society). Walking a tightrope between resignation and flickers of life, the end result is a 6-track EP portraying a sick and sad world, where all characters wander aimlessly through the night looking for a place they'll never find.

Kailin - Shallow Depths
Since Kailin's first release, the dark, dense Fracture LP, they have been slowly coming to ways to survive the hypocrisy of being alive. Written in a manic week of numb emptiness, Shallow Depths is a means to escape a fractured and slowly burning world. A safe space made of prescription painkillers and gentleness. Immerse yourself in the warm, caressing folds of this 5 track EP and temporarily forget that you're going to die alone.

Yuki Tsujii - I'm Rubbish, But I Love You - Mothers Day 2020 Edition
We originally issued this 7" back in June 2014 as part of The Solo Series and has since been unavailable for a few years, however we recently unearthed a box of 50 surplus copies that were completely unaccounted for and have made it available again for Mothers Day 2020 with all new artwork. The composition is a piece written and performed by Yuki as a gift to his mother who resides in his homeland of Japan. The piece was recorded by fellow Bo Ningen member Taigen Kawabe and mixed by both parties. The Mothers day edition arrives in a handmade package that is traditional of past releases in The Solo Series

zeta zeta - Dream Hotel
1. CRIMEWATCH 2. Dolphins Arrive 3. Foyer 4. Gymnasium 5. Karen's Dream 6. Lodge
After his 2017 Blank Editions debut Bird, Daf Lloyd left his London studio to write a dream diary, experiment with hypnosis and make space (rather than time)-oriented music, before temporarily moving to the Russian forest, where he started the construction of the Dream Hotel.
Built over the period of a year, Dream Hotel explores the space experienced in dreams, memories and altered states of consciousness. Dense textures, ethereal tunings and rhythms created with a mix of electronic and analogue instruments guide the listener through deep corridors and reveal doors to hallucinatory environments and other dimensions.
Mastered by Rupert Clervaux, Dream Hotel features stunning cover art and design by Patrick Savile and welcomes a stay from dear friends Ben Vince and Sally Evans whose unique performances lure the unsuspecting guest further into a strange world suspended in broken time.
Vinyl Edition of 300 copies.

Black Country, New Road -Sunglasses 7″ / Cassette
Despite scarce information available on the band up to now, their debut single “Athens, France” sold out of its pressing on Speedy Wunderground in a matter of days, they were featured in The Guardian’s tips for 2019 and they have performed in session for 6 Music alongside other early accolades. A precociously young seven-piece featuring both prominent sax and violin in their line-up, BC,NR have cut their teeth playing their first shows alongside the likes of Fat White Family, Black Midi and more. Front man Isaac Wood has the following to say about the new single's themes:
"it describes a series of events, loosely connected, all yet to happen. The song was intended to be highly inspirational. The lyrics are sometimes concerned with symbols of wealth or affluence but they are not written from a critical or even external position."
The highly limited edition 7" arrives in an elaborate hand-assembled package with each copy having a different image affixed to the cover thus making each copy a true one off original. The images used ( selected by the band from random go-pro footage found online ) will form the basis for the forthcoming music video. 7" version includes (Assembled by the band) - Full 8:45 version of the track split over both sides - 300gsm art-card sleeve - 7" in black paper sleeve - Hand-numbered insert - Unique one of a kind cover image - Plastic outer bag w/ Sticker Cassette version includes - Pro-dubbed cassettes with printed labels - Full 8:45 version of the track without interruption - Double sided single panel J card - Small envelope w/ hand-numbered Insert A special bundle that includes both the 7" and cassette + 25mm pin-badge will also be available whilst stocks last. Charles Hayward - Objects Of Desire CS
Buy here
60 minute field recording from founding member of This Heat, Charles Hayward.
Charles, who we have known for many years wrote to us with the proposal of releasing a field recording he had initially constructed back in the mid 70's. Charles wanted this recording to be specifically released on cassette to further appropriate the recordings intention.
Here are some words from Charles about the recording itself: " Objects Of Desire, this is how I remember it: summer of 1975 I had the house to myself. I had some ideas that I wanted to make real. So I did what I’d always done, work with what was to hand. I’d record onto one cassette machine, play that back into the room while also adding something live, ultra primitive overdubbing. I’d been doing a lot of thinking about how music didn’t really work in an either/or way, it was only our need to put things in boxes that did that, so whatever the next idea, that was what I made. I deliberately avoided using the drum kit too much, instead I focussed on my collection of instruments collected since childhood, junk market finds, radio noise clouds, second hand keyboards advertised in the back of the Melody Maker, plastic swanee whistles from Woolworth’s taped together, kazoos, an old tape found in a Soho dustbin. At the same time the simple cassette machines added their own presence to the sound, whispering traffic passing unpredictably, the crude compression breathing; a lot of the work happened inside the machines."

Ice Baths - Decadent Sprinter EP
Buy here 1. Auster 2. (empathy waiting) 3. Marlowe 4. (desperate disappointment) 5. Clusters 6. Simulation
Recorded in the confines of industrial North Greenwich with producer Euan Hinshelwood in his analogue tape studio, Ice Baths present 4 new pieces. Stitched together with ambient, droning noise - the ghosts of their predecessors - a haunting reminder that beneath the sometimes sunny exterior of the songs lies a constant anxiety in the songwriting and performance.
“we spent so long on the album process, we really wanted to get back into the studio as soon as possible and write/record something new, without giving ourselves too much time to ruminate on external input…a reset of our senses & the perfect way to bridge the divide between albums.”
Decadent Sprinter…a bizarre and yet comforting scene. You feel you understand and know what is happening, a connection to the movements. But in reality, you don’t exist to them & in their world you are just another adoring spectator.

New Housewives 7”
Side A: Sublimate pt. II - Radio edit
Highly limited transparent one sided lathe cut 7" single taken from the Housewives album, Twilight Splendour.
Housewives latest single ‘Sublimate pt. II’ is a melancholic anthem wrapped in sugary, ecstatic, pop gloss, which sees the band explore new relationships of separation, belonging and the claustrophobia of freedom ‘faces drenched in blue light’ ‘cosy in the covers, backs to each other'. With its heavy synth bass, ecstatic midi choir backing and buoyant saxophone lines, the song takes on the effect of cathartic release as it ponders the unchallenged life ‘never dream for more than boredom, now defines us’.

New Housewives Album starts pre-orders now
Housewives -  Twilight Splendor LP / CD / DL
Buy Here
1. Beneath The Glass 2. Speak To Me 3. Dormi 4. SmttnKttns 5. Texu 6. Sublimate pt. I 7. Sublimate pt. II 8. Hexadecimal Wave / Binary Rock Exploring the possibilities of electronic sound, this new LP marks a turning point for the band - who sold their guitars to buy midi equipment and swapped London rents for water habitation. Bringing to mind the digital meditations of legendary producer Oneohtrix Point Never, Twilight Splendour presents a love letter from an early AI to its owner, its concept-led songs strewn with “ecstatic messages of frustration and a desire to connect”.
The album occupies a dystopian world where real emotions have been eclipsed by complex coded simulations. From the dead-behind-the-eyes chanting on ‘Speak to Me’ to the heavily processed vocals on the sax-loaded ‘SmttnKttns’ – which dazzles with vocoder and pop shine – the band’s signature dark, psychedelic chaos and nihilism has been cast into an unnerving new technological light.
On opener, ‘Beneath the Glass’, Housewives set the scene for the alternate world occupied throughout Twilight Splendour: “Slip with me, under the glass and into the light / I only choose content that I know you’ll like”—beckoning the listener to retreat away from the mundanity of everyday life and into the warm comforting glow of digital anaesthesia.
With ‘Dormi’, Housewives create skin-crawling tension and atmosphere from pulsing rhythms, dub-infused bass, clock chimes and a haunting MIDI choir, while ‘Texu’s’ off-beat drumming forms the backdrop of the track’s mythology—an ancient alien making a mixtape of mediocre jazz for a lover.
Diverted creative energy is explored with the chaotic tension of ‘Sublimate pt. I’ which flows into the cathartic bliss of ‘Sublimate pt. II’ using maniacal vocal samples in a challenging take on a life not lived ‘never dream for more than boredom, now defines us’. Closing the record out on a new age note, ‘Hexadecimal Wave / Binary Rock’ swells with deep organ-led euphoria; a moment of respite on an album buzzing with industry.
Since forming five years ago, Housewives have drawn from such diverse scenes as post-punk, jazz, drone, electronic and avant-garde. 2013 saw the release of an eponymous debut EP via Brighton label Faux Discx, while their first-full length record, ‘Work’—recorded at a barn in a desolate corner in the south of France—arrived two years later.
2017 live album FF06116 marked the band’s first collaboration with experimental saxophonist Ben Vince. Following on from these early statements, Housewives are now set to unleash their game-changing new album—turning away from performance-based writing, the human, and facing the cold light of computers head on.

Housewives - Speak to Me
Download here Listen and watch here
London experimental five-piece return for more anarchic genre-blending adventures.
London experimental five-piece Housewives return for more anarchic genre-blending adventures with their new single 'Speak To Me'; A synthesized collage written in Wetherspoons, cafes and anywhere away from their houseboats where they could find an electrical supply.
Exploring the possibilities of electronic sound, with dead-behind-the-eyes chanting, this latest snippet of things to come marks a turning point for the band who sold their guitars to buy midi equipment and swapped London rents for houseboat living.
Using huge live drums, saccharine vocal samples, pulsating sub bass and mechanically entwined guitar lines; 'Speak to Me' is a sign of the bands’ new direction with a constantly evolving sound, creating an anxiety and tightness that assumes the feeling of a knot in the stomach, or a strained smile.
The band describe it as 'a love song of frustration and sensitivity through the eyes of a victim of the isolation of modern life. Quiet but not shy, voiceless, seething, dumb and in love'.
In the video, created by the band and our in-house art department, we're transported into a manifestation of the inescapable digital experience of our everyday lives and its effect on our psyche. The thin layer of perceptible reality is constantly disrupted via the breaking of the digital facade.

NEW RELEASE
Girls In Synthesis - Fan The Flames 7" EP 1. Fan The Flames 2. You're Doing Fine 3. Howling 4. Internal Politics Released on Friday 9th November, ( Pre orders open now ) and following up their E.P releases “Suburban Hell” and “We Might Not Make Tomorrow”, Girls In Synthesis once again join forces with us to release the “Fan The Flames” E.P. Building on the subtleties apparent on their previous releases, it can be said that “Fan The Flames” is the most varied and experimental of the trio of E.Ps. Amongst the piercing guitars, pounding drums and harsh, spitting vocals, the E.P finds time to include improvised, spoken word poetry and groove-based sparseness on “Howling” and “Internal Politics”, respectively. The title track lyrically looks at the dichotomy of moral and political beliefs while “You’re Doing Fine” deals with self-doubt and anxiety, backed by a rapid and edgy musical backing to match. Released once again in their now familiar fold-out sleeve, the vinyl edition is typically a labor of love; 125 copies only, all hand-stamped and numbered which come in the aforementioned sleeve featuring lyrics and a reproduction of the forthcoming “Fan The Flames” tour poster. Also included is an exclusive 4 badge set plus unique signed photo print by the bands photographer Bea Dewhurst. This limited release will no doubt follow suit and sell out on pre-orders like its predecessors. This release sees the group hand mixing duties over to James Aparicio (Liars, Nick Cave, Factory Floor) who joins the fold of their handful of close collaborators, alongside photographer Bea Dewhurst, sound designer Max Walker and Blank Edition’s David S.Blanco, whilst a forthcoming video sees a second collaboration with new video team Soft Surface. With the tour warm up show selling out in 1 day, forthcoming dates include sold out dates with with Fat White Family side-project Warmduscher and with Pigs x 7. Their longest tour to date, the dates will see the band take their new set on the road and unleash their uncompromising stage show across the country. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7" Package includes - Black vinyl - Hand folded & numbered 120gsm recycled paper A3 foldout sleeve featuring a reproduction of the “Fan The Flames” tour poster - Hand stamped vinyl labels - Exclusive 4 badge set - Digital download for the E.P - Signed band photograph ( each one different and unique )
