✨ Yet another headcanon ✨

Proof that the Scrying Eyes are Gortash's creation, too:

Previously, in the Grymforge, I succeeded a check when I attempted to speak to the Scrying Eye, and got this:

And even if you infiltrate Moonrise Towers, you get these upon a successful skill check:

In Act III Gortash directly takes control over a member of the Steel Watch to talk to you. I recorded this in my third playthrough.
He's been watching us the whole time, ever since the Goblin Camp. I feel flattered. 🖤

It's a bit rare to get it, but in-game, you can actually see the line where Gortash says that the Dark Urge is already a god in their blood and that the world just needs to see it.
I was only able to get this line by romancing Karlach and then telling her not to attack Gortash at the coronation. This skips his initial unique greeting for the Dark Urge, which eventually leads to him saying this line if you choose, "Then let us be gods, you and I."

I don't like gortash because he's a villain, if that were the case, I'd be into sarevok too.
I like him because, he accepted durge for who durge is/was. Regardless of the choice of alignment.
He's a sensible man, at times he'd have ulterior motives, A person like him is bound to be wary of his surroundings and company.
He didn't give a damn about durge's true nature, in fact for him, it could've been beneficial, (for the plan).
I don't have the full access on their dynamic, but one the is for sure, this guy is truly the ride or die type.
His alliance with durge is bona fide. He truly means to rule with them.
He had a choice, he Should've had intentions of ruling alone, following bane's orders. Be the villain that everyone expected.
But he wouldn't. He'd want to share his glory with someone, be it durge or even tav for that matter.
Because as jaheira said, he'd want someone to witness him in his glory, or something like that.
She got the memo.
With durge, I think he just wanted to show the world, that he is not controlled but the one controlling.
A deeply hurt man, who accepted the first god who'd accept him.
And he used the power to his advantage, not to fulfill bane's doctrine, but to show the world the he is no bitch.
He wanted the world to feel how he felt back in avernus, treated like a ragdoll.
He wanted the world to know that anyone is disposable, sold at any moment. It happened to him, so why shouldn't it happen to them.
In his own way, he was revolting.
This is my opinion, whether it's factual or not, I'd like to think that this was the case.

I love this shot so much. IMO it's just this symbolic shot of Gortash's true colors. In this entire scene, you get to view Enver as his real self. Instead of this granduer, silver-tongued, charming politician/individual with a automatic smile/smirk, You have a controlling, dagger-mouthed, and impatient man who's wanting to climb to the top by any means necessary. As well as his mental state though his letters/notes. His true natural facial expressions are more calculating and mean. You see what he's done to his parents, to "render them powerless", to him this is far more than power, its revenge as he reigns in the glory. Almost as i imagine fulfilling his childhood dreams. Payback, Glory, Admiration = Acceptance. Not saying its his clear and apparent motivations obv but its just how i interpret the core of his hidden subconscious intentions. I also love the symbolism of his haircut. Its youthful haircut on an older man
i dont know lol maybe i have some interpretations wrong lol.

Gortash (looser) letter pt1
To the knife that cut the crown from my head,
Well played.
I suppose I always knew you would be the end of me — if not by blade, then by choice. By that unfathomable thing in you I never quite understood: mercy, perhaps. Or was it rebellion?
You wore ambition like silk. I thought we matched. Two monsters made for empire, iron and ash stitched together. But in the end, you tore away from me — and I wonder now if I ever truly had you.
The city sings your name now. They say the tyrant fell. That justice prevailed. Let them. Let them bask in their borrowed peace. I know what it cost you.
Because I remember your eyes when you stood over me — not cold, not cruel. Empty. Like you'd carved something out of yourself just to let me fall.
That was your victory. Not mine.
If this is where I rot, then so be it. I have no illusions of martyrdom. No prayers. No pleas.
But I would like you to know this:
If ever the throne grows too heavy, if the people turn on their heroine (and they will), if you find yourself wishing you’d burned it all instead of saving it—
I’ll be here.
Still watching. Still waiting. And still the only one who ever truly saw you.
— Enver Gortash Former Chancellor, forever strategist. Still yours, in ruin.

I do refuse to acknowledge the death of Gortash. I shall feign that his demise be but a Mandela effect.
