okay but can we talk about how mo wakes up from this nightmare and immediately goes for a walk - and how he is (sub)consciously seeking out he tian right after????

this panel is basically mo's pov. he's seeing he tian surrounded by all those other students (yet again), but he doesn't make any moves to approach him. STILL, he tian notices his gaze!!! and mo immediately looks away when he does! 👀

and he tian, who's so smitten with mo anyway... seeks him out instead, noticing his distress(?). he tian is so perceptive of mo that he can already read him so well and just starts nonchalantly talking to him...

UNTIL he notices the imprint on mo's face sjdjdjdj AND CHUCKLES

plus everything from here on out doesn't really need an explanation because just look at them... he tian is wholeheartedly laughing, it's such a pure and rare sight that even mo doesn't seem to get mad at him.

in fact, mo looks rather relieved. more calm after his encounter with he tian. mo's hand is only lightly brushing he tian's but he's not moving, NOT really making an effort to push he tian away. he's so reluctant because he's staring. staring at he tian!!! (and he tian is staring right back, the white background basically indicates that + he tian's feelings for mo being pure love). as if mo's trying to take this precious moment in. as if he's mesmerizing this rare sight before him and just... tries to relax for once. he's blushing, he's letting he tian touch him. they're so precious. this development is everything...

Halloween is great because you can openly express any kind of emotion and it works. I feel like most other holidays have very specific emotions attached to them (gratitude, joy, mourning, etc) and you end up feeling guilty when you’re feeling something else

but Halloween is like.. feel literally anything, it’s all on the table. Feel goofy, humbled, depressed, terrified, have an existential crisis, have a profound spiritual understanding, feel quiet, feel loud, feel alienated, laugh out loud, feel connected, think about life, think about death, stay in your own imagination, feel sexy, transgress boundaries, feel anxious, feel powerful, feel vulnerable, feel nostalgic… anything goes really. it all fits
