i was looking through some dhmis qnas today and the way the characters are described and answer questions makes me insane (positively)

duck is completely insane. the way he sees the world and the people around him makes zero sense to anyone but him and hes so certain hes right because he thinks hes the center of the damn universe. i dont use this word lightly, because i myself have really bad delusions, but duck is delusional. although, can they even be called delusions if the window mightve actually been disrespecting him? its hard to tell. maybe he DID win a tournament, who knows?! can you really call him delusional when he lives in a world as strange as he does? personally, yes, i can. but even without delusions, i fully believe hes completely lost his mind. i think hes a smart person but his decisions are driven by his huge ego and the “rules” hes made up in his head. theres much more to say about duck, because hes very complex, but i just want to talk about this aspect of him for now.

i like this about him because of how he and red guy are so comedically different. the question joe pelling was answering in the screenshot above is “who is your favorite character to write” well baker terry and becky sloan had a whole discussion with joe pelling about how red guy is actually the best to write because hes refreshing. hes a break from all the nonsense, or at least he is most of the time.

becky sloan said something about him that i’ll probably make a whole other post for, but for this post specifically i just want to highlight the heavy difference between duck and red guy. red guy at least tries to think reasonably, and he usually does. he might slip from time to time but duck is just completely off the deep end. that man is batshit. he literally has rabies. he grows teeth randomly. his organs just fall out. its interesting to me how the most normal guy in the series is stuck with this little freak. youd assume from these answers alone that these characters would dislike eachother, that theyd bore and bug eachother to death. but when you see them talk to eachother or about eachother that isnt the case at all.

i just think its funny, a little ironic, how cruel he is. and yet

love is everywhere, i suppose. its a place, its a thing.

Hey tf2 tumblr! So, this is going on tomorrow!! Shork even posted about some news articles about it!

Seeing how I’m very well aware there’s a tf2 community on tumblr, I thought we could spread the movement here! I’m absolutely in love with this franchise, and those who play the game deserve to play it without bots! Team Fortress 2 has been ignored by Valve for a long time. It isn’t fair such a rich franchise with such dedicated, loving fans be overlooked.

I’m posting this here to bring awareness! The main movement is on Twitter, but I believe we should get involved! Spread it across any platform you want! Remember this is a peaceful protest! We are saying why we love the game! We are saying why it means so much to us! No harassment or negativity! Represent the positive, warm atmosphere most Team Fortress 2 fans have, please! Also, be sure to tag #savetf2! It is the main tag we want spreading!

Please Help Save Team Fortress 2

Hey, I realize I don't have a lot of followers, and the few that I have probably don't play TF2 much. If you have played TF2 and enjoyed it at any time, or even if you just have fond memories of the memes and characters, I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider writing about that on May 26th. TF2's been in a sorry, unplayable state for nearly three years now with absolutely no communication from Valve. No press releases, no twitter posts, not even so much as mention in an interview acknowledging it.

So us fans that are still around, and thankfully there's a good many, are putting together an online rally to get Valve to at least say something, and hopefully actually fix the problems. We're beyond asking for updates or new content. We just want the game to work.

So on May 26th if you could make even one post on the platform of your choice with the #savetf2 tag, I and a lot of other people would really appreciate it. If you know anyone who would do so, please share this with them. Thank you.

I just thought of something. When SCU!Tails is driving the car and introducing himself to Sonic he says "Everyone calls me Tails." Which I assumed was a term of endearment from his loved ones. But later on, he told Sonic that he didn't have any friends growing up because everyone thought his two tails were weird.

So does that mean that "Tails" was meant to be an insult? Did he decide to take it on as his own to create a new more empowering meaning? Or what if he got so used to hearing people call him that insult, that his brain told him this is who he is now. He's Tails the freak and the guy who no one wants to be friends with. So when it comes time to introduce himself to Sonic, he slips up and says Tails but tries to make light of situation and roles with it.

I dont know if that's what the creators were going for, but it is now my official headcanon.

Anyway if you’re new to the Sonic fandom and are joining from the movies just know that it is perfectly okay if you don’t know every bit of lore out there or aren’t even interested in any of it outside of the movies. It doesn’t make you any less of a fan. You do not have to prove yourself as a “true fan” or some dumb shit like that.

the thing about the sonic movies that i think i love the most is probably the messages it teaches kids

obviously, the messages of the sonic games are amazing too! youve got many of them teaching how important it is to have friends and people who have your back, shown through sonic often being supported by his friends, or more commonly him supporting them. youve got the message that its good to give people second chances, but that you should still be careful if they take advantage of you, shown through knuckles continuously looking for the best in eggman, and more recently in sonic during the first arc of the idw comics.

but i think one of the movie’s main messages is how important it can be to be vulnerable.

throughout most of the sonic series, from sonic x to sonic forces, its always felt like sonic is someone who’s sort of untouchable. sure, he’s got emotions, but he’s not very affectionate or upfront about his negative feelings. this was slightly combatted in the idw comics, but its still only slight.

in the movies, however? sonic is probably the most vulnerable we’ve ever seen him.

and it’s portrayed WELL! it’s portrayed realistically! it shows that being vulnerable is okay, that there’s nothing wrong with even the main character relying on others. it’s okay to need others sometimes. and that is such an important message for kids, when so many kids of all ages feel so incredibly alone and they feel like it’ll never get better; when slightly older kids when they think that they cannot be vulnerable to those around them.

the sonic movies show that being vulnerable is okay. it’s okay to let your guard down once in a while. it’s okay to let your family know you love them, that it’s not immature or “childish” to hug them every once in a while. and i think that’s a message that every kid, everyone, needs to hear once in a while.

Get a bunch of outlandish quotes from Jim Carrey’s Robotnik from the movies and Alfred Coleman’s Eggman from the Snapcube fandub.

Once you do, find someone with little knowledge of the character and see if they can guess which quote is which.

Like, there’s a scene where she passes it to Knuckles, “hold this for me!” And he’s holding it just fine, until a moment later he casually passes it to Tails, “Hold this, Fox,” and Tails immediately falls down and off-camera.
