I miss rides with plenty of people. Not to say that a small handful isn’t as fun too

I can remember my mother putting the record onto the player and listening to the entire album when I was younger.☺️😊

“Rainy Days and Mondays” is a 1971 song by the family duo Carpenters, released as the first single from their third studio record (which was popularly known as the ‘Tan Album’ but was actually also called Carpenters).
The song was composed by Paul Williams (lyrics) and Roger Nichols (melody). Says Williams: “On ‘Rainy Days And Mondays’ Chuck Kay, who was head of publishing at A&M, asked us to come over and play it for him. But i said, 'Well, there are a couple of lines that aren’t done yet.’ He said, 'You’ll finish it in the car.’ So during the drive over, I came up with a fill line, which was ’What I’ve got they used to call the blues,’ because I wanted to mention the blues, but it was such a hackneyed expression, 'I’ve got the blues.’ But I had planned to change it. And it actually became my favorite line in the song. I think it’s the best one. I met Johnny Mercer once and he sat down and I introduced myself, 'Paul Williams,’ and he shook my hand. And he walked back into the studio where he was mixing, then he stuck his head back out into the hall and he went, 'Paul Williams, 'what I’ve got they used to call the blues,’ that Paul Williams?’ I said, 'Yes, sir!’ It was funny. It was one of the great moments of my life, to meet Johnny Mercer, who I think was the lyricist’s lyricist.”
The Carpenters loved it. They found the pacing and melancholy lyrics to be perfect for Karen’s voice and it became her signature standard. Released in April, 1971, the single was a giant hit and climbed to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US.

HELL YESSSS!!!!!
Need to do that with some of the old strip malls too. Turn one end into rooms like assisted living. Put in a dollar general and some medical facilities. Then a small 2screen theater and a rec area down at the far end

Even if it’s a dear friend or family member who has passed…LONG as we remember be it a joke, or a saying or an action they did …they are NEVER gone.

You are near, even if I don’t see you. You are with me, even if you are far away. You are in my heart, in my thoughts, in my life, always.

That is not the “in” thing to do…they would rather spoil/pamper/cater to those who are naïve enough to accept and think that we care about them..least till some(VERY FEW) become legal residents then they become discarded like a veteran
