Blood Lost. Life Found.

Today @kjs12345, our social media king, (digital high five) discovered that Skybound’s Twitter account posted about the new movie, The Revenant: X. (Here is the actual movie poster for comparison: X).

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, the movie came out last month, and it is all about resurrection and return. The word ‘revenant’ itself means “a person who has returned, especially supposedly from the dead.” Here is a synopsis of the film:

Blood lost. Life found. A character thought to be dead who actually isn’t and must find their family. This is Beth’s journey. Skybound is preparing the audience for her return. Yes, Daryl is the face on the poster, but Daryl wasn’t left behind, he doesn’t have to return from any grave. In conjunction with everything else, this is meant to refer to Beth. The lost girl. The one who Daryl found but couldn’t save. Skybound themselves say she lives (X), and considering that they have been promoting her recently (X) (X), it seems we will see it for ourselves, soon.

So I’m temporarily breaking my hiatus after two days. Our social media queen on GE found a tweet from Love On the Sidelines’s official Twitter (X):

Not only is Love On the Sidelines promoting a completely separate show and character, they’re promoting a “dead character.” They reference the Bring Beth Back campaign and twice referred to Beth as alive in the hashtags. The show has nothing to gain from this, as Beth fans are already aware of the movie, and don’t appreciate trolling. Trolling is how you lose viewers. Beth Greene is ALIVE. The show needs to keep her in the audience’s mind and to slowly introduce the idea that dead girls can make it. Glenn’s miraculous survival was one, the media surge is another. Three times Skybound’s Twitter wrote that, “Beth lives,” and twice that, “Beth is back.” (X) The best fake-outs are subtle and drawn out, as Beth will have always been there, in the back of the audience’s thought, but out of reach until she’s back on our screens. Just have patience.

“Beth Greene Is Resurrected” sounds like a future headline, doesn’t it?
