Thank you every single writer who watched the first ep of Cloudward Ho and immediately ran to their keyboard to bang out Van/Marya tragic exes/ pining in the skies fic. I have gobbled them all down and while greedy for more I am so glad for what is already there. May the road always rise up to meet you, may the wind ever be at your back

This is very specific but is anyone else thinking about Cloudward Ho x Sunless Skies?

Maxwell’s father is running a workworld in Albion, or working for the Windward Company in Port Prosper. He’s sneaking out to be rowdy with the workworlders in exchange for hours - keeps his gloves on because his hands are showing signs of unspun time.

Olethra I’m not so sure about, maybe one of the little settler outposts in the Reach, rather than a full port. Not sure what this means for Daisuke - I think it would be cool for him to be in the Blue Kingdom, given how dangerous it is.

Marya is doing penance in Carillion, let’s get her to Magdalene’s.

Port Avon seems nicer to retire to, but sky pirates are more a Lustrum vibe so I think they pick Van up there. Or maybe she’s right in the heart of New Winchester, assuming the Tacketies are dominant in the Reach.

Monty was a huge force behind Leadbeater & Stainrod's nature reserve, and I think he hops around the nicer bits of Albion trying to get a new nature reserve set up in Hybras or Traitor’s Wood.

Confrey MacLeod was looking for a new region - rumoured to be reachable from within the Blue Kingdom. Maybe a new sun, maybe just somewhere completely free from Her Renewed Majesty.

I see your vision and I love it. Was thinking something v similar except I love a bit of angst so:

- Marya goes to patch up Van/ concussion check/ hey we’re alive moment

- it’s so like old times that she forgets what’s changed

- ah. Bert’s here. Neat little stitches to patch up a deep cut over her eye

- he beams when he sees her, great flying captain, I’m going to get a meal started, see if you convince this one to lie down for a bit

- Van rolls her eyes , gives him a kiss, so fond, they love each other so much and Marya feels ridiculous

- but then it’s just them and Van’s looking at her just as softly, asks Marya to take a look at her arm, it took a knock

- and it’s the two of them again, Marya tending to her Van, almost like old times
