i have no intention of ever playing kh4 because kh3 was absolutely terrible. i have never played a more dogshit game in my life. actually threw my controller across the room i was so angry. we waited this long for kh3 and it was pretty much announced as the finale to the trilogy and for what. its fucking sequel bait. if sora just died i wouldve been satisfied but they HAD to immediately throw the sequel bait in there about how hes somewhere else now. why didnt you just give kh3 a sad ending without bookending it with "SORA. WILL BE BACK. IN KH4" like let me believe hes straight up dead. or even better, that he'll die soon. and oh my god they try to make you believe sora has some character development in this but if anything he got to act 2 and we're just waiting on the punchline like yeah everyone thinks youre stupid sora and its very sad sora THE END. NO ONE MENTIONS "hey maybe we shouldnt have told sora hes stupid so much" LIKE WHERES THE CONCLUSION. IN KH FUCKING 4 IF WE'RE LUCKY I GUESS. the women in this game are also written absolutely horrendously but what else is fucking new. they spent so long working on this that while every character has a crumb of development the game is trying to make you believe their story is over. actually nomura i WOULD like to know more about how xemnas did feel close to the other nobodies. you cant just say this now when he dies and will never come back. im also a big hater of the classic nomura "40% of the story is in spinoff games on your phone and 30% is in 12 different artbooks". like i would love for the important story beats to be understandable by buying The Big KH3 Game Please (yes i do know all the lore im a Real Fan(tm)). and actually lets go back to the women for a second. i CANNOT BELIEVE they gave kairi the duckfeet uwu animegirl pose. i am so fucking angry. nomura doesnt see women as people. and actually the VERY LEAST he couldve done is give namine a new outfit and xion an outfit thats not kairi's-but-black like yeah of course xion doesnt deserve another outfit what else is new WHAT ELSE IS FUCKING NEW. also i knew this was a long shot because kh2 has the best final boss rush of all time but this one was just nothing to me. lets go back to kairi again i cant believe MoM was shown as "the kairi game" and its 1. a rhythm game (for girls!) and 2. YOU DONT EVEN FUCKING CONTROL KAIRI BECAUSE WHY WOULD YOU YOU LOSER. YOU WANNA CONTROL A GIRL? FOR A WHOLE GAME? NUH UH. SORAJAIL FOR YOU RIGHT NOW. YOU FUCKING IDIOT PLAYER

it is Cookie Clicker's 12TH BIRTHDAY today and as has become tradition i am BAKING COOKIES

this year's theme is unpreparedness. i did Not find the vanilla extract. as a result i've decided to simmer in milk a vanilla bean we had lying around instead (i'm at Opti's house for this. his kitchen is substantially more established) (the other option was infusing the vanilla in vodka for months and i simply do not have that kind of time)

anyway! baking:

some previous years for chocolate chips i tried faffing around with popping bars in a blender which turned out awful and gunky. this time (we're doing classic dark/milk/white) i am simply chopping them with a little knife for lovely results. what was i thinking honestly

continuing with our unpreparedness theme the kitchen scale was nowhere to be found so i am entirely eyeballing the 30g each lump of dough is supposed to be. not that a little unevenness matters but inequality no matter how small is how man tears at the throat of man

test batch! these turned out thinner and less photogenic than previous years; i was worried the milk may have upset the ingredient balance but i think i just need to chill the dough longer so that's staying in the fridge overnight and i'll be pumping out giant plates of (hopefully nicer-looking) cookies tomorrow. on the plus side these cooled down really fast and also they were delicious. the vanilla milk gambit really worked out i'm very pleased
