Artist Statement
Product photography is everywhere we look and everywhere we go. Every time you shop on Amazon, go to McDonald’s or flick through a magazine – product photography is there. Even fashion photography is showing you products to buy. People buy things based on how that product will make them feel. This tells me that moods and feelings in product images help to create something successful. For me shooting products is something new and unfamiliar. In this project I choose to utilize liquid to challenge my own limits. I want to improve my photography skills by avoid unpleasant glare and distortion. These images also need to show subject in the best possible light and atmosphere.

The reason why I pick these three because I like portraiture and still life photography.
I discovered what I can do and how to do on both. I learned how to work with model and how to  lead them into an atmosphere we both need. I learned how to drop the water at the right time and at the right place from the water drop project and it needs extremely patient.

I was born in China, raised by grandparents. They never talk about love or something emotional and i was young and naughty, really bad at remember good memories. But whenever I look at the photo album, I have a special feeling like intimacy and its timeless. When i was picking major at LAGCC, I saw photography. At the moment I know what I want to do in future instead of Radiology. I know both major ‘Photography’ people from inside out, but the difference is that most of people wont look at the X-ray result second time. Thats why I like photography and I want to create or capture something people will look at them the second time or more.  I want to reach a level that people  still fresh in memory when they look at my photography when I retired.

Project Proposal
   Project Proposal
Carousels are a great way to have fun at any age. Luckily, New York City has several, so no matter where you live or play, there's usually a carousel not too far away. Unfortunately, I have never ridden a Carousel before, because it's boring and nothing attract me. I have this feeling very often even when I was young, I just can’t find pleasure in the amusement park, I feel like I do not belong there. I don’t know why this happened to me but I would like to know why, which is I will mainly focused on looking for carousel and the people who associated with it, this might be rider, parents, onlookers or the worker who work with the carousels. Because Bryant park is closer so me and It is also a place where people are concentrated, over the course of next six weeks, I will be only focusing on Le Carrousel located in Bryant Park . Hopefully I will understand myself more through the process of documenting.
I will be shooting on a Nikon D7100. I chose to use a 18-140mm lens because  It is convenient. The final project will be presented in video.

Last week we got out of the classroom and went to see the awesome photography exhibition which is Photoville located at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Photoville was a great way to see what’s new in photography and allow the students to start thinking about what their final project will look like.  I thought the exhibition is going to be bored, but the exhibit which impressed me most of all, I would say, was CHINA THROUGH CHINESE EYES presented by YUANJIN PHOTO. This exhibition explores the social, cultural, and economic issues facing Chinese people, documented by Chinese photographers. 遠(Yuan)近(Jin) their meaning in Chinese is far and near, future and present. As its name Yuan Jin organization help China understand itself from a different perspective. There was a photo that caught my eyes was The Vaccine Made Him Sick photographed by Guo XianZhong. A mother holds her 4-year-old child, who would have been climbing no longer stand up. After vaccination the boy’s intelligence became zero, the young mother heartbroken.  Although the exhibition described this mother is heartbroken but we can still see the gentle and strong side of her holding her child with closing eyes. Vaccine event has always been worrying (standing on a baby parent’s point of view) after all, the child is the future of the motherland. You can stay away from medication but you can’t stay away from vaccination. Vaccination and education itself is not directly linked, but became an indispensable condition for admission. Which led to the Chinese parents have to go abroad to get vaccine for their child, they don't trust the motherland anymore because fake milk powder has made them disappointed already. In this photograph I see something different instead of negative energy. I got an idea, if every mother is crashing with despair and filled with hatred then it will only deepen the misunderstanding and fear for vaccines then nobody going to trust the medical system in China which will affect the vaccination rate of Chinese children, so that they are exposed at risk. After this trip I realized that sometimes the tragedy in the photograph is not necessarily the end, it can be the beginning of the change. We can also be strong as this mother love China the way just like she loves her child even if he is incurable.
