Modern Metaphors for God
From the mind of Dr. Olalekan Kolawole, with the neural assistance of OpenAI.

COSMOLOGY & PHYSICS
Dark Matter / Dark Energy
Dark Matter is a kind of matter that does not emit, reflect, or absorb light. We cannot see it directly. However, scientists believe it exists because galaxies spin faster than visible matter alone can explain. Its gravity affects how galaxies move.
Dark Energy is an unknown form of energy that appears to drive the universe's accelerated expansion. It makes up most of the universe, around 68%. While dark matter pulls things together with gravity, dark energy pushes them apart.
→ "The unseen yet holding all things together."
Quantum Field / Higgs Field
Quantum Fields are invisible entities that fill all of space. Every fundamental particle (electrons; quarks which are the constituents of protons & neutrons; photons which are the fundamental particles of light; etc) is a small ripple or vibration in one of these fields. For example, an electron is a disturbance in the electron field.
The Higgs Field is a special kind of quantum field. As particles move through it, they gain mass. It works somewhat like resistance in a liquid. The more a particle interacts with the field, the heavier it becomes. The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 confirmed the field's existence.
→ "God is the invisible but dynamic being who confers existence to all things.”
Singularity / Big Bang
A Singularity is a point where gravity becomes infinite and known physical laws stop working. Before the Big Bang, the universe was thought to be concentrated in such a singularity—extremely dense and hot.
The Big Bang Theory is the most widely accepted explanation of the universe’s origin. It states that the universe began from this singularity about 13.8 billion years ago and has been expanding ever since.
→ "God as the beginning & prime initiator - the source of all that there is and all that there ever will be."
Laws of Physics
The laws of physics are the rules that describe how matter and energy behave. These laws are consistent across the universe. Examples include Newton’s Laws of Motion, which explain how things move; the Laws of Thermodynamics, which describe energy and heat; and Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, which explains gravity and time at cosmic scales.
→ “The Laws of Physics as God’s reliable instruments for organising the physical universe.”
Light’s Dual Nature (Wave and Particle)
Light behaves like both a wave and a particle. This is called wave-particle duality. As a wave, light can bend and interfere with itself. As a particle, it travels in small packets of energy called photons. Experiments like the double-slit experiment show that light can do both, depending on how we observe it.
→ "Christ as fully God and fully man."
BIOLOGY & GENETICS
DNA
DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the molecule that carries genetic information in living things. It looks like a twisted ladder, called a double helix. Four chemical bases (A, T, C, and G) make up the steps of the ladder. The sequence of these bases acts like a code that instructs cells how to build proteins.
→ "God as the Author of life, the divine programmer - the source information of all living beings."
Cellular Regeneration / Stem Cells
Stem Cells are special cells that can become many other types of cells. They help in growth, repair, and healing. For example, when your skin is cut, stem cells make new skin cells. Some animals, like starfish and planarians, can grow back entire limbs or body parts using their stem cells.
→ "God as the Restorer of brokenness, source of new creation."
Epigenetics
Epigenetics is the study of how behaviour and environment can affect how our genes work without changing the actual DNA. Things like diet, stress, and exposure to chemicals can switch genes on or off. This happens through processes like methylation, where chemical tags attach to DNA and affect gene activity.
→ "God as one who transforms nature through nurture and relationship."
Evolution as MetaphorIn biology, evolution refers to the process by which life changes over generations through mechanisms like mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift. Over long periods of time, these processes shape organisms to adapt better to their environments. Evolution is not a chaotic or purposeless phenomenon; rather, it is a continuously unfolding story of adaptation and increasing complexity.
As a metaphor, evolution offers a picture of God as one who, in quiet sovereignty, guides creation toward fulfilment on His own terms. Just as natural selection preserves beneficial traits and encourages resilience, the metaphor points to a divine hand at work—nudging, sustaining, and shaping life towards wholeness and purpose over time. The Creator, working through time, process, and transformation to bring about a perfected outcome.
"God as the quiet shaper of life, guiding it patiently toward His purpose."
NEUROSCIENCE & CONSCIOUSNESS
Neural Networks
In the brain, neurons (nerve cells) connect to form networks. These neural networks carry signals and process information. They are the basis of memory, thought, and movement.
In technology, artificial neural networks are systems designed to imitate the brain’s pattern recognition. They are used in machine learning to identify faces, translate languages, and more.
→ "The Body of Christ as a living, learning, connected organism."
Mirror Neurons
Mirror Neurons are special brain cells. They fire both when you do something and when you see someone else do the same thing. These neurons help us understand others’ actions, feel empathy, and learn by imitation.
→ "God in Christ shares in our suffering, feels what we feel."
Unified Field of Consciousness
This is a theoretical idea, not proven by experiments. It suggests that consciousness might come from a hidden field that fills the universe. This idea is still speculative and not widely accepted in mainstream science.
→ "God as omniscient, omnipresent mind."
TECHNOLOGY & INFORMATION SCIENCE
Operating System / Codebase
An Operating System is software that controls a computer’s basic functions. It manages memory, files, and devices. Examples include Windows, Linux, and macOS.
A Codebase is the entire collection of source code that makes up a software programme. Developers use it to build, update, and maintain software.
→ "God as the architect behind the seen and unseen."
AI Architect
An AI Architect is a person who designs and builds artificial intelligence systems. These systems can learn from data, recognise patterns, and make decisions. Examples include recommendation systems, voice assistants, and image recognition tools.
→ "God as the prime & fundamental intelligence who has created intelligent humanity."
Cloud (Data Storage)
Cloud storage allows people to save and access data over the internet instead of on a local device. Companies store the data on remote servers. This method makes it easy to access files from anywhere and keeps data safe from hardware failure.
→ "God as the ever present custodian of all knowledge, information & communication."
Feedback Loops
A Feedback Loop happens when a system's output becomes part of its input. In a positive feedback loop, the output increases the effect (e.g., microphone squeal). In a negative feedback loop, the system corrects itself (e.g., the body cooling itself when hot).
→ "Divine justice and mercy as self-correcting principles in creation."
ECOLOGY & SYSTEMS THINKING
Ecosystem Balance
An ecosystem is a group of living organisms and their environment, working together. Balance means that all species live in stable numbers and resources like water and food stay available. Predator-prey relationships help keep this balance.
→ "God as the Sustainer and Harmoniser of life."
Gaia Hypothesis
The Gaia Hypothesis says that Earth acts like a single living organism. Its systems, like oceans and atmosphere, work together to support life. For example, plants and animals help keep oxygen and carbon dioxide in balance.
→ "God as the Life-Animator of the earth."
ENERGY & THERMODYNAMICS
Entropy and Order
Entropy measures how disordered or random a system is. According to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, entropy increases over time in a closed system. This means that things naturally move from order to disorder unless energy is added.
→ "God as the one who brings order from chaos."
Conservation of Energy
The law of conservation of energy says that energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only change form. For example, a battery turns chemical energy into electrical energy. The total amount of energy in a closed system stays the same.
→ "God as always existing, continuously existing, unchanging, yet ever active."
COMMUNICATION & MATHEMATICS
Signal and Noise
In communication systems, a signal is the useful information. Noise is anything that interferes with or distorts the signal. A good system keeps the signal strong and the noise low to make communication clear.
→ "God as the guide of those interested in and attune to him, connected to them in uninhibited communication wherever they are, and whenever.”
Fractals / Self-Similarity
Fractals are complex shapes that repeat patterns at smaller and smaller scales. This is called self-similarity. Examples in nature include snowflakes, ferns, and coastlines. Zooming in on a fractal shows the same pattern over and over.
→ "God’s actions on the universe are the patterns we see in all systems, from galaxies to cells."
Mathematical Constants (π, e, φ)
These are fixed numbers that appear often in nature and mathematics:
π (pi) is about 3.14159. It’s the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.
e is about 2.718. It shows up in problems involving growth and decay.
φ (phi), the golden ratio, is about 1.618. It appears in patterns in nature and art.
→ "God as the constant, truth behind all things."

ON THE CORPORATE AFFAIRS COMMISSION DIRECTIVE TO COMPANIES TO ALLOT ALL UNISSUED SHARES
For Leaders of Companies:
There was a regulatory directive to companies to allot all their shares by December 31, 2022. The directive stated further that all shares still unissued after the deadline would remain unrecognized as part of the company's share capital until fully issued or the company should otherwise reduce their share capital accordingly.
Kindly note that for affected companies i.e. those with yet to be allotted shares, penalties have been accruing on a daily basis since January 1, 2023.
Leaders of Limited Liability Companies wish unallotted shares should act as soon as possible to issue all shares and hence limit the amount of penalties which they would have to part with to the Corporate Affairs Commission.
Further enquiries are welcome.

Anyone who drinks the water I give will never be thirsty again.
The water I give will be like a spring flowing inside them.
This spring within them brings life which is permanent - life which never ends.

On The Tenancy Agreement & Its Real Purpose
During negotiations on tenancy rates between prospective tenants and the agents marketing to them, the phrase “agreement and commission” invariably features.
Regarding the ‘agreement’ aspect of that phrase, it should be noted that this fee is not a meaningless statutory charge always payable along with rents. Many pay agreement fees along with their rents without an understanding of its purpose, rather considering it merely a compulsory part of the rent package.
It’s crucial, however, to realize that this fee has a definite purpose.
Here is What Really Ought to Obtain
Upon paying the agreement fee, the tenant is entitled to a tenancy agreement document. This document is essential, and by no means superfluous.
It outlines the terms of the tenancy, including rights & responsibilities of both landlord and tenant, as well as eviction protocols, and tenancy termination modalities.
The tenancy agreement comprehensively details the conditions of the tenant’s and landlord’s relationship.
In summary, as soon as any intending tenant is billed for agreement and commission, it becomes imperative to request the tenancy agreement document.
