Problems whit the fake news increasing.
By. José Alberto Torres Castillo IB student.
In our life we have been through a lot of surprises because we think that all the news are true when they're not, this thing occurs with the newspaper and the magazine; we think that the growth moment for this would be with the television, but the problem grew up with the internet, the globalization help to that happens, so it's still more fake news and more difficult to know if it’s true or fake.
Tumblr media
Statistic show up that in Mexico 22% of the people share fake news and they aren’t sure if that information is correct or true,  persons who read a fake news article and many of them thinks that is a new and real information, so we need to do actions to minimize the fake news or at least, change the frequency on this actions. That's why I will show you the consequences that these actions cause in the community of people who read this “articles”.
Tumblr media
In this case the problem don't lie in the person that read and share without know the content it’s true, if not in the person that writes this “news” with a purpose of making easy money; this person doesn't  think in the public who will read the articles, and told that information to other persons like where true, and that false information can be considering as real.
Tumblr media
The problem increments with the internet, because in our present is more accessible the information (all types of it) and the knowledge compartment. That's why we need to be more critical with the information we read and share, because of the sharing without it exists many myths. That is why the problem is not only the massive sharing, though, therefore is indispensable to not continue with the making of the fake news articles.

WHAT ABOUT FACEBOOK?
By: Juan Pablo Gómez Ibarra Corona
Tumblr media
Alexia Chávez also known as “Bodoque” is currently an IB student at Lazaro Cardenas high school, she's a very independent yet kind and selfless person. The thing I respect the most about her is that she is always willing to lend a hand on everyone who ask for it, not only as a classmate but also as a friend. I got the chance to met her when a entered the IB. Since lately Facebook has been a controversial topic I decided to interview her so I can get to know her thoughts about it. Last Monday after a short phone call we chose to meet each other on the café near her place at 7:00pm to conduct the interview.
Tumblr media
-P:Do you have a Facebook account?
-A:Yes, I do actually own an account of Facebook, I have had it since I was 12-13, can't precisely remember, but I was in the 7th grade
-P:Why did u created it?
-A:To communicate in an easier manner with my classmates, due to the fact, that we would be starting with new projects that required said communication.
-P:Have u ever thought about deleting it? why?
-A: I've never really thought about deleting it, I have never gone to that point, since I've never been addicted to it and know how to back away from social media when the time isn't right.
-P:What is your favorite thing about it? and what is your least favorite one? why?
-A:The rapid and easy communication, yet it's downfall is also the rapid and easy access to fake information that could harm a person's day to day life.
-P:If you had the opportunity to change something about Facebook, what would you change and why?
-A: I don't have anything against social media, but the way we as society use it and abuse of said power. So no, I wouldn't change anything about Facebook specially but many better ways to filter and detect harmful comments or posts, yet again, that is just a reflection of us as a society and community, so we must change our environment to get a healthy social media experience.
-P: How has Faceboom impacted on people's life? If it affects people's life, how can we counteract it?
-A:It can be addicting, and well, as a topic I have treated before, Facebook, like any social media, gives you a mask, a façade you can hide behind and think maybe you don't affect people because you are not saying directly, but it does harm. Plus the fact that we are becoming progressively worse to communicate in real life is also a conundrum, that must be addressed, because it seems that our real life social skills are almost non existing compared to our social media communication skills. There's also millions of other problems due to social media, like, kidnapping, identity theft and many more. The way we can control this is by actually fact checking everything you see, not trust strangers and don't give out personal information.
-P:Do you have anything else to say about this topic?
-A:Social media isn't everything so don't over use it and don't take it too seriously, talk to people on a one on one conversation, so you see who your true friends are. Life will never be, or should never be, social media.
-P: Thank you, Alexia. It has been a great time, I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I did.
-A: Sure I did, thanks to you, looking forward to another collaboration together.

The 5 worst and 5 best things of the internet
By: Alexia Chávez
Tumblr media
Source: Extradigital
We could easily say that the internet has facilitated and enriched our lives, but the part that we don't always realize is the cost of it, not monetary, but of something far more valuable. In this post we will raise awareness about 5 bad and 5 good things of the internet.
Tumblr media
Source: Speedify
Let's start with the bad news.
1. Social pressure: With social media, we are exposed to many different images. Images that make us think of our own lives, there are so many posts and information out there that makes you feel pressured to be thin, to buy something, to use another thing, to be prettier, to change for what society dictates that we should be.
2. Wrong information: We get all types of information about everything and anything all the time. We look one thing up and there are millions of results, yet sometimes we don't stop to verify if the information is correct.
3. Lack of privacy: Pictures, names, date of birth, pet's name, social security number, that all could be exposed to the public. Identity theft is so common now a days that one doesn't even realize. Then there's the other side, kidnapping because people give personal information to people they don't actually know.
4. Cyberbullying: Since it's not face to face, people feel more powerful and might say hurtful things that harm other people and get them to a point of even suicide. The thing with social media is that it stays there, if someone says something to you, you might forget it eventually, but this is different you can see it, many people can, putting you in the spot, and since you can't see the immediate reaction of the other person, one doesn't realize how much what they say hurt others.
5. Not knowing how to be bored: Creativity is being lost due to this, people don't know how to be bored they always have a phone, so they don't come up with new things. This problem can be easily seen in kids, they are so used to watch YouTube or Netflix to entertain themselves, that they have rubbed out of creativity.

And now for the good things:
1. Rapid and global communication: You can talk to people all around the world and share experiences, you don't have to wait days to get a response from you best friend, now is just minutes. This exactly can make communication in families to check up on each other, way easier. You get to know news even faster, and you get to talk to friends and family whenever you want
2. Accessibility of information: You don't have to go to a library or wait for the newspaper to know, now with one search and you get million answer, helping up with homework, or investigation, or a simple question one has in mind from time to time.
3. Simplifying common tasks: Shopping, doing taxes, purchasing a service, getting to places, is all more simple with this tool. You don't need a map when you have a GPS, you don't need to waste gas and time to shop, when you can do it from the comfort of your own living room.
4. Work opportunities: Searching for work, or even launching a new product is facilitated with internet. Plus with communication and media how it is, you can sell your product and have advertisement all around, all the time. And applying for a job you want is just one click away.
5. Entertainment: And last but not least, entertainment, you can watch movies, series, read, draw, take pictures, learn a new song or choreography, all while online.

5 WAYS YOUTUBE Has CHANGED The WORLD Forever.
Tumblr media
By Roberto Gomez. May 14, 2019
When Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawad Karim founded YouTube in 2005 there’s no way they could have predicted that they would change the world as we know it in five short years. YouTube has revolutionized everything from entertainment to education, opened new doors for talented individuals looking to be discovered, and brought people together from all over the globe. How has YouTube changed your world?
YouTube Has Made The World Smaller.
YouTube has the ability to make the world smaller. And, no. I don’t mean that YouTube has literally shrunken down the globe. What I mean is that YouTube has given us the power to travel the world with a single click. It allows us to take a journey and learn about places and cultures around the world from actual people who live there.
Tumblr media
YouTube Helps People Get Discovered.
Since 2005 YouTube has opened new doors for talent discovery. Never before has it been so easy for talented singers, dancers, actors and artists to achieve instant fame. Now a days, a person can upload a video of himself singing to YouTube and, if it gets seen by the right person, he or she could receive millions of views, get record deal and begin a whole new life by the next day.
Tumblr media
YouTube Offers A Platform For Spreading Truth And Change.
YouTube has given people around the globe a platform through which they can post videos to show the world, first-hand, what is going on in their countries; to show the world the reality of situations that may not being broadcast on the news or may be hidden by the government; and to et people know about different issues that they may not have heard about and getting viewers to take action.
Tumblr media
YouTube Has Revolutionised Entertainment.
YouTube has also changed the face of entertainment. We used to watch television, to to the movies, read books. Today we can spend hours on YouTube watching video after video. YouTube now has shows, movies, home movies, animated shorts, web series and more and we can watch it al from home for free!
Tumblr media
 YouTube has Revolutionized Education.
YouTube is filled of how to videos, tutorials and lectures. If ypu have a question or want to know how something is done all you have to do is search for it in YouTube and odds are there is an educational video wating to teach you everything you need to know.

Marvelous communication
by Leslie Corona
The creation of media came with consequences as the low quality of communication from the bad employment of them, that’s why misinterpretations are common when you want to communicate or receive messages.
Tumblr media
The communication has been ruined. That's why nowadays, most humans don’t socialize with each other and are not comfortable when someone does it because they don’t know how to do it. Many people prefer to stay with their electronic devices absorbing useless information instead of socializing.
Tumblr media
Even without knowing the identities of their supposed friends on social networks, people usually have a lot of friends and have some communication or don’t communicate at all. But, they don’t really care about getting to know them and they are only friends for a good view of their profile or to satisfy the emptiness of boredom.
Communication is more than just a waste of time, it helps us to understand ourselves and others. So, if we don’t know how to communicate and don't use media adequately, we’ll lose essential skills for human relationships which improve our culture and our social environment.
Tumblr media
With proper communication, we develop values, like:
1. Respect
2. Comprehension
3. Open mind
4. Expression
5. Help
The correct way of communication allows a more relaxed environment in our daily lives promoting feelings of being better persons and also increasing our respect for society.
