OMG I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT, it's the semi flatten tool right??? eeep

Thats not what I use? haha. Its difficult to explain but you copy the original text you started with (with no pattern/fill in it), put it in between layers you did fill up with, and then use the original text merged down, like this:

haha it'd be completely okay if you did message me off anon, I wouldn't think anything less of you!! I had the same problem a while ago, however nobody told me how to either haha. USE THESE RESOURCES!! Haha im just kidding, but dont be embarrassed, we are a tumblr community!! How do you make your banners so smooth? My full up banners always come out rough around the edges :(
