Everything You Need To Know About Smart Breakers
Do you have a circuit breaker that keeps tripping? Are you worried about an electrical fire in your home? If so, you may be thinking about investing in a smart breaker. But what are smart breakers, and how do they work? In this blog post, we'll answer those questions and more, so you can decide if a smart breaker is right for your home.
What are smart breakers?
Smart breakers are a type of electrical breaker that can be controlled remotely. They are used in commercial and industrial settings to help manage power distribution. Smart breakers can be used to turn circuits on and off, to monitor power usage, and to provide data that can be used to improve energy efficiency.
While smart breakers have many potential benefits, they also come with some risks. Because they can be controlled remotely, there is a potential for cyber attacks. Hackers could potentially gain control of smart breakers and use them to cause power outages or other disruptions.
For this reason, it is important to make sure that smart breakers are properly secured. If you are considering using smart breakers in your business, talk to your electrician or other professional to make sure they are properly installed and secured.
Tumblr media
How do smart breakers work?
Traditional circuit breakers use a simple on/off switch to protect your home from electrical fires. But smart breakers go a step further by using sensors and algorithms to detect problems before they cause a fire.
So how do smart breakers work? They work by constantly monitoring the current flowing through the electrical circuits in your home. When they detect a problem, they shut off the power before the problem can cause a fire.

How dose RCBO work?
RCBO=MCB+RCD, so its working principle is actually RCCB, RCD combine with MCB.
The working Principle of RCCB RCD:
Tumblr media
When electrical equipment with leakage current, there are two abnormal phenomena:A fault occurs the current balance of line and neutral did not matches (imbalance occurs, as the fault current finds another earthing  path of current). The second is that the non-charged metal shell has a voltage to the ground (under normal conditions, the metal shell and the earth are at zero potential).
The basic operating principle lies in the Transformer shown in the diagram containing three coils. There are two coils say Primary (containing line current) and Secondary (containing neutral current) which produces equal and opposite fluxes if both currents are equal. The RCD obtains the abnormal signal through the current transformer detection, and transfers it through the intermediate mechanism to make the actuator operate, and the power supply is disconnected through the switch device.
The structure of a current transformer is similar to that of a transformer. It consists of two coils that are insulated from each other and wound on the same core. When the primary coil has residual current, the secondary coil will induce current.
The current flowing back and forth in the transformer is equal in magnitude, opposite in direction, and positive and negative cancel each other). Since there is no residual current in the primary coil, the secondary coil will not be induced, and the switching device of the leakage protector is operating in a closed state. When a leakage occurs to the equipment shell and someone touches it in time, a shunt occurs at the fault point. This leakage current passes through the human body, The earth.
The work is grounded and returns to the neutral point of the transformer (without current transformer), causing the current flowing in and out of the transformer to appear unbalanced (the sum of current vectors is not zero), and the primary coil produces residual current. Therefore, the secondary coil is induced, and when the current value reaches the operating current value limited by the leakage protector, the automatic switch trips and cuts off the power supply.

How to connect miniature circuit breaker (MCB) for DC 12-1000V
What is the DC miniature circuit breaker (MCB)?
How to connect DC MCB correctly?
Does AC MCB apply to DC states?
What is the DC miniature circuit breaker (MCB)?
The functions of DC MCB and AC MCB are the same. They both protect electrical appliances and other load equipment from overload and short-circuit problems, and protect the circuit safety. but the usage scenarios of AC MCB and DC MCB are different. It generally depends on whether the voltage used is alternating current states or direct current states. Most of DC MCB uses some direct current systems like new energy, solar PV, etc. The voltage states of DC MCB is generally from DC 12V-1000V.
The difference between AC MCB and DC MCB by only physical parameters, the AC MCB has labels of the terminals as LOAD and LINE terminals whereas the DC MCB will have positive (+) or negative (-) sign on its terminal.
How to connect DC MCB correctly? Due to the DC MCB has a marking of ‘+’ and ‘-’ symbol only, it is often easy to connect incorrectly. If the DC miniature circuit breaker is connected or wired incorrectly, there are possibilities of problems occurring. In case of overload or short circuit, the MCB will not be able to cut the current and put out the arc, this may lead to the breaker burning out.
Therefore, DC MCB has a marking of ‘+’ and ‘-’ symbols, still need to mark the circuit direction and wiring diagrams, as shown below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to the wiring diagram, 2P DC MCB has two wiring methods, one is the top is connected to the positive and negative poles, another method is the bottom is connected to the positive and negative poles as the marking of ‘+’ and ‘-’. For 4P 1000V DC MCB has Three wiring methods, according to different usage states, to choose the corresponding wiring diagram to connect the wiring. Does AC MCB apply to DC states?
The AC current signal is continuously changing its value for each second. The AC voltage signal changes from positive to negative in every second of a minute. The MCB arc will be extinguished at 0 Volts, the wiring will be protected from a huge current. But the DC signal is not alternating, it flows in a constant state and the value for the voltage is only changed when the circuit is trip OFF or the circuit is decreased by some value. Otherwise, the DC circuit will supply a constant value of voltage for each second of a minute. So, as there is no 0 Volt point in a DC state, it doesn’t suggest that AC MCB applies to DC states.

With the rapid development of science and technology, the era has been promoted, from the former gasoline car to the new energy car.
New energy vehicles use batteries instead of fuel engines, which reduce environmental pollution and begin to be widely promoted around the world.
For example, from the earliest new energy vehicles, Tesla of the United States to German BMW, Mercedes-Benz. Well-known automobile brands are developing and producing new energy vehicles actively.
While new energy vehicles are continuously popularized and promoted, the charging, protection technology and standards of EV supply equipment is constantly updated. At present, only the charging efficiency, installation and safety of the EV supply equipment charging system can be solved, and new energy vehicles can be better and more widely accepted and purchased by the public. Reduce the emission of toxic exhaust gas from cars, which is more conducive to protecting the living environment of the region.

TONGOU provides high-quality Disconnector Switch, that is to say, when the disconnector is in the off position, there is an insulation distance meeting the specified requirements and an obvious breaking mark between the contacts. In the closed position, the disconnector can carry the current under normal circuit conditions and the current under abnormal conditions (such as short circuit) within a specified time.
Disconnector (commonly known as “knife switch”), generally refers to the high-voltage disconnector, that is, the disconnector with rated voltage of 1kv or above. Disconnector is one of the most widely used high-voltage switchgear, its working principle and structure are relatively simple. However, due to the large usage and high-reliability requirements, the disconnector has a great influence on the design, establishment and safe operation of substation and power plants.
The main feature of the disconnector is that it has no arc extinguishing ability and can only open and close the circuit without a load current. Disconnectors are used at all levels of voltage to change circuit connections or to isolate lines or equipment from the power supply. It has no current breaking capacity, so it can only be operated after the line is disconnected by other equipment. Generally, the disconnector is equipped with an interlock device to prevent misoperation when the switch is under load. Sometimes a pin is needed to prevent the switch from breaking under the action of the magnetic force of large fault.

What are the types of CE certified products?
The CE certification of the circuit breaker is the “main requirement” that forms the core of the European Directive. It is required in the European Community’s Resolution (85/C136/01) of May 7, 1985, “Technical Coordination and Standards for New Methods”. The “main requirements” of the development and implementation of the directive have a specific meaning, that is, the product only does not endanger the basic safety requirements of the safety aspects of humans, animals and goods, rather than the general quality requirements. The coordination directive only specifies the main requirements, and the general directive requirements are Standard task. If the product complies with the relevant requirements of the relevant directives, the CE mark can be attached, and the CE mark cannot be determined by the general quality requirements of the relevant standards.

What is direct contact and indirect contact protection?
When the human body comes into contact with a charged body and has a current passing through the human body...
When the human body comes into contact with a charged body and has a current passing through the human body, it is called an electric shock. According to the cause of human body electric shock, it can be divided into direct contact electricity and electric contact electricity. Direct electric shock refers to the electric shock caused by the direct contact of the human body and the charged body (such as touching the phase line). Inter-contact electricity refers to the electric shock caused by the human body touching the metal conductor that is not charged to normal conditions and charged to the fault condition (such as the outer casing of the leakage device). Depending on the cause of the electric shock, the anti-shock measures taken against the electric shock are also divided into: direct contact protection phase indirect contact protection. Direct contact protection generally adopts measures such as insulation, protective cover, fence, and safety distance; indirect contact protection generally adopts measures such as protective grounding (zero connection), protection cutoff, and Miniature Circuit breaker.

Circuit breaker power-off process
When the circuit of the miniature circuit breaker is generally overloaded, the overload current cannot activate the electromagnetic release
When the circuit of the miniature circuit breaker is generally overloaded, the overload current cannot activate the electromagnetic release, but it can generate a certain amount of heat for the heat element, causing the bimetal to be bent upward by the heat, and pushing the lever to disengage the hook from the lock. , break the main contact, cut off the power
The main contact is closed by the operating mechanism (manual or electric), and its contact system can not only turn on or off the normal working current due to the arc extinguishing device, but also quickly cut off the normal operating current in the event of a fault. Several times the fault current, which can effectively protect the electrical equipment in the circuit
The trip mechanism of the switch is a set of linkage devices. When the main contact is closed by the operating mechanism, it is locked by the lock hook in the closed position. If a fault occurs in the circuit, the relevant trip unit will act to disengage the lock hook in the trip mechanism, so that the main contact is quickly broken by the release spring. According to the different protection effects, the trip unit can be divided into an overcurrent release and a voltage loss release.
Under normal conditions, the armature of the overcurrent release is released; in the event of a severe overload or short circuit fault, the coil in series with the main circuit will generate a strong electromagnetic attraction to attract the street iron and open the hook. , the main contact is disconnected. The operation of the undervoltage release is exactly the opposite. When the voltage is normal, the electromagnetic attraction attracts the armature and the main contact is closed. Once the voltage is severely dropped or powered down, the armature is released and the main contact is opened. When the power supply voltage returns to normal, it must be re-closed before it can work, achieving voltage loss protection.

Leakage protector wiring considerations
Established in 1993, TONGOU Electrical is one of the most specialized manufacturers and exports for modular electric terminal devices for household, commerical, industrial and similar installations in china.
Many people believe that as long as the leakage protection device is installed, it can prevent electric shock injuries. In fact, a lot of reasons will cause the leakage protector to refuse to jump, thus will not obtain the protection function, among them the wiring mistake is one of the important reasons.
There are several kinds of low-voltage leakage protectors: single-phase two-wire, two-phase two-wire, two-phase three-wire, three-phase three-wire, three-phase four-wire and so on. In use, they can be selected according to the characteristics of the power system. When selecting the wiring mode, the protection method of the circuit system (ground protection or zero protection) should be distinguished first. Secondly, it should be understood whether the protected electrical equipment is single-phase, two-phase, or three-phase, and then the selected leakage protection device is selected. Select the correct wiring method. In practice, the following are mainly noted:
(1) The live wire must all pass through the core of the RCD’s zero-sequence current transformer. The PE wire is not allowed to pass through the core, but it should be connected to the metal casing of the device.
(2) The N-line passing through the RCD cannot be shared with N-lines of other devices or lines not protected by RCD, nor is it allowed to be connected with PE lines, metal casings of equipment, conducting steel pipes, or other metal parts that are connected to the earth. Said that the RCD’s N line should be insulated to ensure that the current flowing through the N line will not be diverted to other lines.
(3) When RCD is installed in the TN-C system, the PE protection line of the device should be connected to the PEN line on the power supply side of the RCD. The N line after the RCD must be insulated from the ground; when the RCD is installed in the TN-S system The PE protection cable of the device should be connected to the PE line on the RCD power supply side. When the RCD is installed in the TT system, the PE protection cable of the device should be directly connected to the ground. The wiring is shown in Figure 1.
(4) After RCD is installed in the TN system, repeated grounding can only be set on the power supply side and not on the load side. If repeated grounding is installed on the load side, when the ground fault occurs, part of the residual current flows through repeated grounding, which may cause the RCD to malfunction. The use of RCD protection in the TT system is generally not suitable for repeated grounding.
(5) Both the electrical equipment on which RCD is installed on the same line and the electrical equipment not equipped with RCD cannot share a common grounding electrode.
(6) The leakage protector has various wiring modes in the TN and TT systems. The neutral line N and the protection line PE must be strictly separated during installation. The neutral line of a three-pole four-wire or four-pole leakage protector should be connected to the input of the protector regardless of whether the load-side neutral line is used or not. The neutral conductor that passes through the leakage protector must not be used as a protective conductor, and must not be grounded repeatedly or connected to the exposed conductive parts of the equipment. The protective conductor must not be connected to the leakage protector. RCCB refers to a residual current operation protector without overcurrent protection, and it also belongs to a leakage protector. Use caution when using it.

Miniature circuit breaker installation and composition
Established in 1993, TONGOU Electrical is one of the most specialized manufacturers and exports for modular electric terminal devices for household, commerical, industrial and similar installations in china.
Today, we will introduce to everyone the common sense of small circuit breakers. There are many brands of miniature circuit breakers on the market today. The miniature circuit breaker has the advantages of reliable performance, advanced structure, strong breaking capacity, beautiful appearance and compactness. Miniature circuit breakers are mainly used for currents of fifty hertz and sixty hertz. Usually the rated voltage of a miniature circuit breaker is more than four hundred volts, and the current is 63 degrees. In handicrafts, high-rises, residential houses, and commercial applications, the following is a brief introduction to miniature circuit breakers. First, the composition of small circuit breakers The miniature circuit breaker consists of the following major parts: 1. Can be broken contact connection. It consists of a fixed contact and a movable contact. The 2. A device consisting of a metal cylinder or an insulating cylinder, in which disconnectable contact couplings and arc extinguishing devices and transmissions are installed. 3. The transmission that drives the contacts. The 4. Arc extinguishing equipment. When a small circuit breaker is used to break the circuit, the movable contact of the miniature circuit breaker is separated from the fixed contact by a mechanical method. When closing, the movable contact and the fixed contact are closed by the opposite mechanical motion. When the load circuit is switched on and off, an arc is generated between the fixed contact and the movable contact. The arc generated during the breaking process is much more serious than the closing process. When the breaking current is large, especially when the short circuit is opened, the arc is very large, and it is often very difficult to disconnect the circuit. Second, the installation of miniature circuit breakers In general, the rated breaking capacity of a miniature circuit breaker is measured when the upper terminal is wired in and the lower terminal is in the outgoing state. In the case of special conditions, the terminal shall enter the line and the terminal shall be disconnected. Due to the arc extinguishing caused by breaking the fault current, the miniature circuit breaker must be derated. That is, the rated breaking capacity must be reduced according to the manufacturer's requirements. Capacity factor to convert. Now some manufacturers of small circuit breakers, the upper and lower terminals can be incoming and free installation, the breaking capacity is not affected, but the author believes that, in the case of non-transitory, it should be appropriate for the above. This does not matter with what brand, small circuit breakers are generally installed in the distribution box (rails installed in the distribution box), if it is arranged directly on the outside, it also needs a fixed rail, the small circuit breaker can be stuck on the rail, generally Up and down, according to the instructions 4P is the three fire zero, zero FireWire position does not matter, but generally is the right side of the fire left to zero. The Above to introduce to you about the characteristics of small circuit breakers and installation instructions, we learned no. The use of miniature circuit breakers on the premises of current residential houses is very extensive. The current miniature circuit breakers have high flame-retardant, impact-resistant, and high-temperature resistant materials that are imported from foreign countries. In addition, the miniature circuit breakers have the advantages of high current limiting coefficient and superior performance. The prices of miniature circuit breakers on the market are also very low. Therefore, in the wide range of applications and applications, today's explanation of miniature circuit breakers is here. The following will share some knowledge about rccb and rcd.

NEXTPREVIOUS How to control the circuit of the household and similar use?
How to control the circuit of the household and similar use?
How to control the circuit of the household and similar use?
These days, almost every home, hotel, and office building uses a consumer unit switch box. Considering that it is the center of the wring system, this is where all electricity in every building is controlled and distributed. With the increasing rate of building fires triggered by faulty consumer units, it is necessary to ensure that you choose the right brand. At TONGOU, we do not compromise on safety. Our products go through several rounds of testing and qualifications, so that you can be rest assured.
Our consumer units contain the Miniature Circuit Breakers, popularly known as MCBs, and the Residual Current Devices or RCDs. Both have gone through and passed several quality assurance tests, from manufacturing to installation.
The MCB is an automatic electromagnetic device that automatically turns off a circuit when it detects a current higher than the stipulated value. Its job is to protect your house from dangerous effects of electrical malfunctioning. The MCB is similar in size and function to a regular fuse, but the MCB is proven to provide more real-time protection. When the MCB trips due to an extremely high current, you can always switch it back on manually as it comes with an easy-to-use and flexible switch, unlike fuses that have to be replaced each time.
The RCD, also known as the Residual Current Circuit Breaker, or RCCB automatically cuts off electricity from a circuit in the event of an electric shock. It also works in case of a fire outbreak, shutting off electricity that could make matters worse. RCDs are designed to provide personal protection, something that MCBs are not made to do. For instance, if you accidentally touch a live wire, the RCD is automatically tripped to prevent further damage or injury. Each RCD within your consumer unit consistently monitors electric current flowing through one or more circuits it is attached to. Immediately it detects electricity flowing down a strange path, it triggers a response to switch off the affected circuits.
Our consumer units are designed in such a way as to ensure maximum safety and ease of installation. The box itself is designed to aid smooth wiring and installation of all the components, such as the MCBs and RCDs, and complementing wires. The busbar is creatively designed to ensure that the devices cannot be incorrectly installed. The entire process can be figured out without any trouble.
Our Consumer Units measure up to our production hallmarks of novel design, excellent workmanship and reliable quality.
Like every product we’ve made, they come with standard approval from CE, SEMKO, CB, CCC and ISO9001 quality system certificate, amongst others. With over 20 years of manufacturing the best electrical devices, we sure know what we’re talking about.
