MARIA JOMYCA L. CASTRO BEED 1-1

In my life, I had a lot of memorable moments and experiences planted in my memory. I’ve undergone through a lot like joining various competitions such as gymnast, tula, declamation, spelling bee contest, drawing, quiz bowl contests and even hosting pageants and programs. What surprise me the most was that I didn’t expect that I could join pageant when in the first place, pageant was not in my vocabulary. So here’s my pageant story:

       It was 2015 of April vacation when I decided to try something new out of my curiousity of how it feels like to be one of the candidates facing the crowd. Since, it was feast of my mother’s place: VIRGEN.  I started to join 2 barangay pageant contest which is chapel’s contest (money matter pageant and I only got the 2nd runner up place) and the other is Search for Miss Virgen 2015 (a Q & A portion pageant).

* April 25, 2015 : Me wearing the shining shimmering brown gown was the chapel’s pageant contest and got the 2nd runner up place but still thankful for I got lot of sashes and trophies.

* April 27, 2015 : Me wearing the long white gown where I got crowned as Miss Virgen 2015. I could’nt explained how happy and blessed I am that time. Thankful to Patron Divine Mercy.

* January 18, 2016 : Me wearing the blue gown. It was the time where I represented our school HIA for Ms. Anda Tourism 2016 and fortunately got the 2nd Runner up place for top 3. 

* January 15, 2017 : It was the time where I got to represent my father’s place : Brgy. Poblacion, for Dujanon Festival Queen 2017 and I got the 2nd Runner up place again out of top 3. 

* January 16, 2017 : Me together with brgy. pblacion dancers at my back and so thankful that our brgy. got the !st place in overall championship. We do offer it all to our patron St. Sr. Sto. Nino. 

* July 28, 2017 : I got the chance to became the representative of Anda for Sportsfest 2017 held in Jagna. 

       In every contest I joined, I sometimes lose and win but still I am thankful for everything/everyone who had been a part of my life has made me who I am today.

Last December 26, 2018 after we celebrated Christmas our family went and traveled to Anda Boracay. It was really memorable for me because it was the first time wherein our family, cousins, and neighbors bond together. And aside aside from it, it was also memorable and everyone really felt happy because at that time we also celebrated my cousins birthday named Edwin. We arrived there at exactly 10:00 o'clock and when we were there we ate our lunch first. And after that we went immediately swimming then we really enjoy since my relatives also prepared some parlor games. We also had our team building activities which make us felt tired. We take a lot of pictures as our remembrance most especially under the sunset. The view there was very nice and my experience there was very memorable and unforgettable.

Travel is the best on the first time!

Last May 2015, was the youth rally of all churches around the country of Open Bible Christian Fellowship. One of the contingent is us, from Bohol. It was a great priviledge to be part of the team to go there, and be one of the representatives in our youth department.  The travel was so long going to the destination of the youth rally, which is in Manolo Fortrich Bukidnon. Part of that convention, was a short tour on the last day. And one of the destination was in Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park which is located meters away from our origin.  

 The said park is particularly located at Barangay Dahilayan, Bukidnon and is just below foot of the famous Mt. Kitanglad Mountain Range, this park features the longest Dual Zip line in Asia, dropzone,  ATV & Buggy Trail Adventure & offers an airy ambiance & panoramic view. I can say this forest park, offers a wide selection of exciting outdoor activities and modern amenities. And it was awesome to tour to, and it even dreamed me to just stay there . The experience was just so AMAZING and PRICELESS! The rides we tried was indeed jaw-dropping! (Though I didnt include some of that pictures here). Over all, I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to experience high extremes! One of my memorable experience is when we had a field trip last October 2017 together with my classmates and our teacher. First, we went to chocolate hills in Carmen. The view there is so amazing and breath taking. Next, we went to Ship Haus at Batuan. We had lots of pictures, selfies and groufies. We also wore a seaman’s uniform, we had a lot of fun and learning there. Next in our destination is the hanging bridge in Sevilla. I am so afraid to step into the bridge because I have a fear of heights but I also try my best to pass through the bridge even though I’m shaking in fear. But I had fun and overcome my fears. Next we went to X ZOOTIC ANIMAL PARK AND BUTTERFLY GARDEN in Loay. I saw lots of different animals such as snakes, crocodiles, monkeys, butterflies and etc. And then after that we went to Man Made Forest in Bilar. We take lots of pictures, the environment their is so cold and peaceful, the air is so fresh and so green. Then, we visited the Baclayon Church,. we get inside to pray and give respect to the saints. And lastly, we went to the Blood Compact and again we take some pictures. I totally enjoyed our field trip and we went home safe and sound. We’re so very grateful to our teacher and I hope we will gather together again.

“Travel is better with friends.”

This memorable experience happened last December 15, 2018 @ Isola de Francisco, Panglao,Bohol. It is our first travel together with friends and it was unexpected. A roller coaster experience  ‘coz the weather is not good and it was “hunas” .We waited for almost a hour and  sad  to say in order for us to go to the island we must first walk in the sea for  how many kilometers  and then reach the place where the boats have been placed(hunas man gud mao layu ang dagat). For how many hours travelling we’ve reached the beautiful island. We took photos here, there and everywhere for collection purposes. The place was so nice, calm and the people there are  friendly and approachable. A really worth it experience.<3 Looking forward for more.

Spending vacation with your family is one of the best memories you’ll ever have.

 March 2018, my mother who is an OFW came home from abroad to spent her summer vacation here with us. It was fun, exciting and memorable moment for me because in a little span of time, we were able to share laughter and experience crazy yet enjoyable adventure with her. We went on hiking in Mt. Kanlunsi, a mountain just kilometers away from our house. We went there together with my friends and cousins. It was my first time to went there and I never thought it was that very tiring hike just to reach the peak of the mountain. I’m glad I was able to reach on top. Upon reaching the top of the mountain, I was able to witness the panoramic view, it was very beautiful. I can smell the fresh air and feel the cold breeze of the wind. We took pictures then. We also ate “saging with ginamos” which is very mouthwatering together with the kids who went up there. We sat on a huge log and have some chitchat with the people out there. As the sun goes down, we started walking down towards home. It was indeed a meaningful hike for me because my mother was there. I greatly treasure those little span of time when she’s with us, when our family is complete and when we’re happy together. 

Hopefully, I will be able to experience more adventures with her someday in places we do both love to visit to.  💕
