PLANNING TIME MANAGEMENT PAGES

MATERIAL ANALYSIS-

OIL PASTEL - creating a more softer tone throughout the film , adding it to create colour and texture patches eg. The multicoloured tie dye look and overlayed on top of the posca to highlight and look glowy in the top green right example. It also adds a softer feel to the venue parts eg royal Albert hall

POSCA - in the final film I used posca more subtly , using it to emphasise any important parts of the film and adding bold spirals to the saxophone player presenting the music coming out. I also used the podcast in alternate ways including splashing the ink out of it. This created a magical and more calming atmosphere of the gigs.

RIPPED PARTS & scores - add a rough effect on the musicians , I specifically used this technique on the metals bands and rappers as the ripped and torn imagery and aesthetic and atmos is used quite a lot in metal music culture

PAINT SPLOTCHES- crayon dipped into acrylic colours creating heat map visuals so present energy and passion of the musicians. On the o2 scene I created this pattern with a variety of colours emphasising the scale and variety of different acts that play there

I WANTED MY ZINE TO BE HANDED OUT IN THE OPEN WORLD. I NEED IT TO ALSO PROVIDE A LINK OR SO, KINDA INFORMATION TO BRING THE EXPERIMENTAL ZINE INTO PLACE. I DECIDED TO MAKE IT EDUCATIONAL FOR MY AUDIENCE AND INCLUDE A SPOTIFY LINK THEY CAN SCAN INTO THEIR PHONES . THIS PLAYLIST INCLUDES A VARIETY OF MUSIC FROM LONDON FROM ALL GENRES AND GENDERS. ENVIRONMENT- THIS PROCESS IS QUITE SUSTAINABLE AS IT IS MADE FROM PAPER WHICH CAN EASILY BE RECYCLED AND REPURPOSED ONCE SCANNED IN. I COULD JUST RECYCLE OR MADE BADGES , COLLAGE POSTERS AND MORE ZINES IF I WANTED TO.

ETHICALLY THE ZINE AND VIDEO ARE GOOD , THEYRE INCLUSIVE DONT INCLUDE ANYTHING THAT MAY BE VIEWED BADLY

I FEEL I HABE TICKED ALL THE BOXES IN THE BRIEF I WROTE AND THINK IT FITS THE REQUIREMENTS OF MY AUDIENCE PERFECTLY.

It is interactive with the Spotify link , colourful , unique , includes venues and advertises well.

Future mockups

THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF COLLECTING AND EXPERIMENTATION WITH MATERIALS & VIDEOS. I FEEL I HAVE DEVELOPED SO MUCH IN MY SKILLS AND PROFESSIONALLY THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT. I TRIED A LOT OF THINGS I'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE INCLUDING MIXED MEDIA ANIMATION, COLLAGE AND LEARNT A LOT ABOUT LONDON'S MUSIC INDUSTRY TOO WHICH IS SOMETHING IMPORTANT FOR MY FUTURE PRACTISE. I BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION HAS MADE MY OUTCOMES VERY HIGH QUALITY ESPECIALLY FOR THE INDUSTRY I WOULD LIKE TO BE IN. I HAD A BIG JOURNEY , THINKING ABOUT EXPRESSION IN MUSIC AS A WHOLE BUT THEN COMBINING IT WITH A INFLUENTIAL USE OF PROMOTION AND TOURISM. THE GOAL OF THIS OUTCOME WAS TO PROMOTE LONDON'S UPCOMING MUSIC SCENE THROUGH EXPERIMENTAL MEDIA TO PRESENT ATMOSPHERE, AURA AND IDENTITY OF MUSICIANS , GIGS AND VENUES. I CHOSE TO CREATE A VIDEO AS I LOVE MUSIC VIDEOS MYSELF AND THE IMPACT TRAILERS AND VIDEOS HAVE ON THE WAY MUSICIANS IDENTITY IS SHOWN IS INCREDIBLE SO I WANTED TO MAKE ONE THAT KEPT THIS FEELING ALIVE IN LONDON AS THE SMALL GIG SCENE IS BEGINNING TO FADE. COLLECTING PRIMARY VIDEO FOOTAGE FROM MYSELF & OTHERS MEANT MY OUTCOMES WERE NOT RESTRICTED TO AUDIENCE AND WERE INCLUSIVE OF ALL TYPES OF MUSIC & MADE THE VIDEO MORE INTERESTING AND PERSONAL. COLLAGING ANALOGUE MIXED WITH DIGITAL MEDIA PRESENTS THE IDEA OF PERSONALITY OF UPCOMING BANDS AND THE FRESHNESS WITH THEIR RAW INDIVIDUAL ENERGY ON STAGE. I AM OVERALL SO HAPPY WITH THESE OUTCOMES AND FEEL THEY BOTH. SOLVED MY BRIEF. Reeditting the animation to have film effect and Instagram story test

Here is the development of my animation. I wasn’t happy with the final outcome so here is the process of ,e adding a film overlay.

I added the film overlay 50% so the video was still clear all the way through

This process improved my outcome really well.

AFTER FINISHING MY ZINE AND UNFORTUNATELY AS I COULDNT PRESENT THIS AT THE EXHIBITION I THOUGHT I WOULD ASK MY PEERS TO GIVE ME SOME EXTRA FEEDBACK ON THE ZINE! THIS IS THE FEEDBACK I RECIEVED. Professional print

I was happy with the final layout of my zine so I decided to print it on high quality paper to ensure professionallism and improve the quality of my images. I printed this out on the XERO double sided printer in the digital print which ensured a high quality finish. The paper I intend to use was the Norfolk paper as this a great thick paper great for printing but the technician offered me some other paper which was amazing and made my work even better. The zine paper is very thick so is strong and durable. I cut these down with a guillotine and hope to print more copies.

Realising there's some black pages so Lino cutting

I printed the zine using indesign on regular printer paper first to test colour and page layout but then professionally printed on Norfolk A3 210 gsm paper to make it card like and to a high quality finish. This also popped out the colours and textures more than the regular paper. When printing and formatting my pages however I came across a problem where the opening page had a white back as it didn’t print both sides, I overcame this though by using printmaking to Lino these pages inspired by things I have at home, Polaroids , guitar and musical paper , these in the end turned out great opening pages to the zine and added a more stylised finish and further emphasises the handmade look of my outcomes .

I chose to have a Polaroid camera on the page (to represent the photography and personal feeling of the small gig venues)

I chose a guitar also to add musical instruments and a literal feel to what my zine is about and finally I carved a abstract music note pattern that brings the three together. I am so happy with these Lino prints and would love to have them more featured especially in the video if I had more time.

HERE IS MY TEST PRINTS FIGURING OUT SHORT N LONG EDGE DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING AND MAKING SURE THE PAGES ALL FIT TIGETHER IN THE ORDER I WANT THEM TO BE. I HAVE NEVER MADE A ZINE LIKE THIS BEFORE SO I WAS GETTING CONFUSED WITH WHICH PAGE SHOULD BE NEXT TO WHICH. IN THE END I DID THIS CORRECTLY. IT WAS IMPORTANT THAT THE COLOUR PATTERNS LINED UP WITH THE CORRECT MUSIC GENRE , I DID KEEP THE CENTRE PAGE HOWEVER AS A DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD OF GIG FOOTAGE. I LOVE THOSE TYPE OF BOOKS WHERE THEY HAVE BIG IMAGES IN THE MIDDLE AND THEYR FUN TO LOOK AT SO I TOOK INSPIRIATION OFF THAT. THIS CREATED MY. INTO SOMETHINGNSO INTERESTING AND IM PROUD OF . I ALSO PRINTED A ZINE TO SHOW IN MY FINAL CRIT EHICH MEANT I COULD GET GOOD FEEDBACK ON IT
