it's curious that noah said they've been building up will's love for mike since season one.

season ONE? THE SEASON HE'S BARELY FUCKING IN????????????

the season where mike is determined to find will??? where mike says he's the only one who cares about will??? where mike flips out on everyone and leaves el behind because he thinks will is dead??? where mike is sadly caressing a binder of will's drawings??? where mike stayed awake while everyone slept waiting for will to wake up so he could be there right away??? where mike hugs will lays his head on will's chest???

the entirety of season 1 is only on mikes side. with solely season 1 you couldn't really make an argument for will loving mike, but you could 100% make an argument for mike loving will.

mike rambling how much he loves will but doesnt wanna do anything about it because he was so scared on what will thinks about it and he just keeps talking and talking about how much he wants to grab will and kiss him and do boyfriend things with him so bad and hold his hand in public!! until he finally stops himself after a sharp inhale and takes a nervous glance at will, scratches the back of his head and says, ‘’so yeah..i.. i-is that okay?’’

meanwhile will is red as a tomato and still trying to process all of mike’s words and trying to make sure he wasnt dreaming, leading his arm start to bruise from his pinching. ‘’yeah.. that’s okay.’’

It’s not “gay” to say that Hawkins is not the same without your best friend, how is that “gay”? Nor is it “gay” to make eye contact with your friend in a van? Was Mike supposed to look out the window and not make eye contact? That doesn’t mean he’s in love with Will wtf

AND YOU CANT SAY THIS SCENE ISNT ROMANTICALLY CODED JUST LOOK

AND WILL ALWAYS BEING SHOWN IN LIGHT WHILE AROUND MIKE

There’s more to shows then just what is actually said, lighting plays a big part to, it can make a scene appear happier, sadder etc, lighting in shows a lot of the time also has a metaphoric meaning behind it, same with costume designs. There’s always more to a show then just surface level, you just have to pay more attention.
