Been there, it want my mother how said it though
My mom said people who try to kill themselves are selfish. I wonder if she’ll still think that when she finds me laying on the ground in a puddle of my own blood because I decided that I had enough

You tell them Ella!!! ❤❤❤
Hephaestion- Survivor part 22
Previously part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6 part 7 part 8 part 9 part 10 part 11 part 12 part 13 part 14 part 15 part 16 part 17 part 18 part 19 part 20 part 21
But our happiness was soon to be shadowed by the king’s ambition and dreams. Those obviously included his most trusted general.
I could feel Hephaestion wasn’t feeling well. Something was keeping his mind busy. It was early in the morning when I saw him distractedly twirling on of my locks between his fingers. I moved away from him and propped on one elbow so I could talk face to face. “What’s bothering you?”
He sighed and closed his eyes.
“Hephaestion, apart from lovers, we’re confidants. You can tell me anything.” I said and place a hand on his shoulder.
“Alexander wants to fight against the persians.” He said in one breath.
“Wow…. I am missing a few trainings and look what happens.” I said.
“The others are worried. Everyone tries to change his mind but it’s impossible.”
“So when are we leaving?” I asked.
“We?”
“Yes..we. You don’t think I’m gonna let you go to the battlefield alone. I’ll help you. I am a good archer and I’d be useful.” I explained.
“Ella…you know nothing about battles. You’ve never been into one.” He said.
“There is a start for everything.” I said.
“I’m serious, Ella. You’re not coming.” He said.
“You’re not my father, Hephaestion. I can choose for myself.” I said.
“Ella, I can’t concentrate in a battle if I have to protect you.”
“You won’t have to do that. I can take care of myself.”
He stared at me for a few minutes and realized that I won’t back down from a fight.
“Ask the king and the generals. See what they will say.”
“But you will take my side, right?” I asked, caressing the soft skin of his chest.
“I will.”
———————————————————-
3rd POV
“I’m going to join you in the battle.” Ella said.
“Come on…” Cassander huffed.
“It’s impossible, Ella. I won’t take a woman in this fight, or any for that matter.” The king said.
‘Why not?” The woman asked.
“Do you really need an answer?”
“I can help you. I’m a good archer, and strategist. I could be useful.”
“My answer is no.” The king said. When she moved her eyes around the room she noticed that everyone was either surprised or revolted by this idea.
“Cleitus say something, we are friends.” Ella pleaded.
“Ella…. I can’t take you. And Hephaestion you are irresponsible for encouraging her to do this.”
“What? Aren’t you trying to cotton up with her. Are you out of flatteries, Cleitus?” Hephaestion retorted.
“Well sorry if I don’t want to see her dead body lying on the field. I thought that you would be the first one to be against it.”
“I’m sure she can handle anything.”
“See… He believes in me. Why don’t you?” Ella said annoyed to the crowd.
“Because you’re woman! Ok, you might have an ability with the bow but it’s completely different than what’s happening on the battlefield. Go home and paint or clean or whatever you do.” Cassander said, making her blood boil in her veins. In an instant she grabbed an arrow and threw it at him, hitting the dummy placed right next to him. Ella missed the general by a few centimeters.
“Sorry but I have some dishes to wash.” She said and stormed out of the room.
“She did you bro.” Sirius laughed.
“This is treason, Alexander! You can’t let her get away with that!” Cassander shouted.
“Come on! She didn’t target you.” Cleitus said.
“It’s easy for you to say. You didn’t have an arrow shot in your direction.”
“Because I don’t make stupid remarks about cleaning dishes.” The older one said.
“We shouldn’t fight between us. We have better things to do. And Hepheastion, don’t look at me like that. I’m not taking her in the army.” The king said.
“I know. I would rather have her safely home. But she won’t give up.” The general said.
“Why not…. Look, none of you knows her like I do. She won’t disappoint. I guarantee you that.” Sirius said.
“You only knew her when she was a child.” Cleitus said.
“And do you think she changed a bit? She is the same bold, brave, girl that left years the go. The only difference is that she became a woman. And I think she is even more reckless.” Sirius said.
“Which isn’t an advantage on the battlefield.” Hephaestion said.
“On whose side are you?” Sirius said.
“On the side that cares about her safety.”
“You know…after these months I really thought you understood that she can’t be controlled. You can’t keep her in a cage. Let her free. Ella’s going to do what she wants no matter what.”
“Like Hephaestion said, on a battlefield you can’t be reckless. It may cost your life.” The king said.
“There are cultures that have women in their armies. Cultures that are feared around the world.” Sirius added.
“Yes..barbarians.” Philotas said.
“Give her a minor role and let’s stop with this non sense.” Another soldier said.
“Washing the armors after.” Cassander laughed.
“Do you want another arrow?” Ella’s lover said.
“I’ll happily bring you the bow, Hephaestion.” Cleitus said.
“Are you two really that charmed by her? Did you forget everything we were taught. She has no place in this army!” Philotas said.
“Those traditions are ancient. Let’s be a little modern. More open-minded.” Sirius suggested.
“I won’t risk this battle for your caprices, Hephaestion and Cleitus.” The king said.
“I don’t want her at the end of a sword. I don’t want her to come with us.” Hephaetion said.
“Me neither.” Cleitus added.
“Then why are we even having this discussion.” The king asked.
Sirius huffed. “Because each one of us is wondering what would happen if we have the courage to bring her with us.”
“I don’t” Cassander said.
“You lack vision, my friend.” Sirius said.
—————————————————–
When the meeting was finally over, more questions and possibilities appeared. A meeting that was supposed to clarify and settle things only deepened the problems and the lack of organization.
For the first time, Hephaestion didn’t know what to tell Ella. He hated the idea of her fighting side by side with him. He wanted her safe. It wasn’t that he didn’t believe in her. But in a battle even the best fighter might not return home.
As soon as he entered the room he saw her standing on bed, lost in her thoughts.
“Ella.” He softly called her name.
“Hephaestion.” she called him using the same tone he did.
“I’m scared for you, Ella. That’s why I am so conflicted right now.” He explained.
“And you think I am not for you?” She got up and advanced towards him. “You think I don’t picture with fear the moment when the soldiers are back, but I don’t see you along with them. I can’t stay home, creating different scenarios in my head. And not happy ones, I can assure you.” She said almost in tears.
Hephaestion caressed her cheek, wiping the fallen tear drops. “Don’t cry. I don’t like to see you sad. Your breaking my heart.” He placed a kiss on the corner of her lips.
“I want to be with you, Hephaestion. Everywhere you go. I want to face everything on your side.”
“Ella….I will return home. There will be no bigger motivation to survive than you.”
“Hephaestion…. I asked you once why do you fell in love with me. Do you remember what you answered?” She asked, wrapping her hands around his neck and tilting her head.
Hephaestion looked deeply into her eyes. She was determinate to win. He finally found someone who dared to provoke him. But with this excitement of something new came a fear. The fear of responsibility. It would be his fault if something bad happened to her.
When the man didn’t answer, Ella took his palm and placed it on her cheek. She leaned into his touch, before kissing his fingers.
“You confessed that you loved the fact that I never take a step back when I believe in something. I believe that we’ll be fine. I believe that we’ll return home. I believe that nothing can stop us from having a beautiful life. I believe you want me to be there.” She said sliding her finger across his upper lip. “Convince them, Hephaestion.” She breathed against his neck.
His every sense awakened at the touch of her soft lips on his skin. She covered it with small kisses. This woman could bring him to his knees and he had nothing against it.
——————————————————————-
“If she doesn’t come then I won’t participate either.” Hephaestion said.
“I can’t believe your doing this to me…for a women?” The king asked.
“She’s not just a woman. And you know it better than anyone else.” the general said.
The king closed his eyes and massage his temples trying to process the big news his best friend dropped.
“Hephaestion, please…”
“Give her a chance. If she does something wrong I’ll be the first to put her on a horse and send her home. I swear.”
“Since we were kids I’ve always listened to you. Do you really believe it is a good idea?”
“She’s smart. Ella can make plans and you saw that she masters the bow like no other.” Hephaestion said.
“I’ll think about it.” Alexander said.
“Thank you. I promise you won’t regret.”
——————————-
Ella was still practicing regardless the late night hour. In the palace’s yard there were a lot of targets much to her pleasure. Arrows were flying one after another, carrying with them a little part of her frustration. She was breathing heavily and felt a great ache on her arms. But she needed to be strong, to show them that she’s not just a pretty little doll that would break at the first hit.
“You should go home to rest. Sore muscles are a soldier’s worst enemy.” She heard the king’s voice.
“I can take it.” She answered and shot anther arrow, hitting the right spot.
“I wouldn’t like to be that target.” the blond man said amused.
“Don’t annoy me and you won’t” She joked.
“What am I going to do with you, Ella?” He asked sitting down on the grass. The woman sat right next to him.
“I’m done begging. If you don’t want me, than let me home. But I swear that if you don’t bring Hephaestion home, you will regret.” She said.
“I think you would take better care of him.” He said.
“Are you serious?” Ella asked.
“I can see what Hephaestion loves at you. You’re something else. I just hope that this difference can help us in the battle with the persians and won’t trouble us.”
“I’ll do my best.” Ella said.
“And another thing. Don’t break his heart. He’s been through a lot. That’s all I ask.”
“I love him more than anything. I will never destroy his trust in me and love. I give you my word.” She said.
“Then welcome to the fight.” He said and high-fived with Ella.

So in live with this story
Hephaestion - Survivor part 18
Previously part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6 part 7 part 8 part 9 part 10 part 11 part 12 part 13 part 14 part 15 part 16 part 17
“I need to rearrange the books in the library. Do you want to help me?” Hephaestion asked.
“Of course I do. You know how much I love libraries.” The woman squealed.
“Let’s go.” She extended her hand to grab his.
~2 hours later
Giants piles of books were stocked on the floor waiting to be placed back on the shelves. Hephaestion was lying on one of the couches, a desperate look on his face. He woke up a monster. For the lasts hours, Ella put the books on a place and then changed it. At first she wanted to place them by colors, then alphabetical, then she changed her mind and wanted to group them by the author, and now she wanted to pair up the series so they could be all in the same place.
“I liked how you put them ten minutes ago.” Hephaestion said.
“No, love. It wasn’t good. There isn’t enough space on the shelf and I can’t split these 2.” She explained, holding the two books in her hand.
“Does it really matter?” He asked, hoping that the question won’t make her angry.
“Of course it does.” She sighed. “ I have to take them out of here and rearrange it differently.”
He place a pillow on his face and shouted.
“Don’t be such a drama queen.” Ella said.
“They were just fine.” Hephaestion said.
“No they weren’t. There are some books that can’t be separate. We have to put them together.” She said.
“For what?” He asked.
“For aesthetic reasons.” She simply said.
“Aesthetic reasons… “ He shook his head “Ok, let’s see. Where are we putting these?”
After another hour they finally decided the place for each one of the books in the library.
“I never knew this could be such an exhausting activity.” Hephaestion said.
“It’s my favorite. After I read them I like to think of combination on how to group them, on the place where they should stay. And I’m sorry. I know I tend to be a little annoying” She said.
“No, not at all.” Hephaestion laughed. “Maybe just a little.”
They were having fun, telling stories and jokes when they heard a knock on the door. It was a man, bringing them a letter from Jade and the others.
“What is it saying?” Hephaestion asked.
She stood closer to him so he could read it too.
“They’re having fun.” Ella said. “And they are returning in a week.” She said a little disappointed.
“Yes.” He said taking the letter from her, looking through it. Ella sighed and rested against the couch’s arm.
“You’re entire mood changed.” He said.
“Do I sound horrible if I say that I wish they would stay longer? I mean… I love them. I feel closer to them than I ever felt to my family. It’s just. I like to have this place for us.” She said.
“We still have our place in the woods. Nobody ever comes there.” He tried to cheer her up.
“It’s not the same.” She said.
Hephaestion took a moment to think at any alternative. His house was always busy and it never bothered him, until now. Ella wasn’t the only one upset. He wanted a little intimacy too.
“We could built a house for them next to this.” He suggested.
“No…they were first here. I don’t want to throw them out of their home. And don’t mind me. It’s not a big deal. They have rooms downstairs we have upstairs… it’s fine.” She brushed it off.
“Then I could built a small cottage in the clearing. When we get overwhelmed we can have a getaway to relax. Just the two of us… What do you say?” He grabbed her hand and kissed it.
“I don’t know.” She said.
“Come one don’t be sad.” He tickled her sides, knowing it was a weakness.
“Leave me alone!” She laughed combined with a yell. “Hephaestion don’t!” She shouted louder and laid on the couch. He wrapped his hands around her waist and tickled her belly while kissing her neck.
“You’re not playing fair.” She said, writhing under him.
“I want to see you smile. Smile for me, Ella. Don’t be upset.” He said, moving his hand under her knee. “I know you are ticklish. You have no chance on winning this.” He said, tapping her skin.
“Fine! I give up, here’s your smile. Now stop.” She laughed.
—————————————————————————————
“Why do you bring another blanket? It’s already hot enough.” Ella asked at the sight of Hephaestion carrying a second layer.
“But at night it gets colder.”
“Yes, but we already have this one.” Ella grabbed the blanket lying on the bed. He looked away.
“Hephaestion what’s the problem?”
“You steal the cover at night.” He said.
“No I don’t.” She defended herself.
“You kind of do.” Hephaestion said.
“Fine. I promise I’ll try not to monopolize the blanket.”
——————–
Hephaestion woke up feeling cold. He looked around and saw that Ella once again pulled the covers on her side. He sighed and kissed her shoulder and scooted closer to her, dropping his hand over her side. ‘What won’t a man do for love?’ He thought.
The next one to wake up during night was Ella. She looked over her shoulder and saw Hephaestion curled up against her back. The woman rolled over and and covered him with the blanket. Ella moved one strand of hair away from the man’s figure so she could see his features better. ‘You’re so pretty.’ She thought, a tiny smile appearing on her face. She kissed his forehead and returned to sleep.

Such a great story!!! ❤❤❤❤
Hephaestion- Survivor *part 11*
Previously part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6 part 7 part 8 part 9 part 10
I turned on the other side of the bed, noticing the coldness. I sat up and looked around the room. I saw Hephaestion leaning on the balcony’s door frame. He was standing with his back towards me so I couldn’t see his expression but I knew he was distracted. Whatever happened last night still bothered him. He had a cup of wine in his hand but it didn’t seem like he has drank from it.
I felt an incredible urge to hug him and assure him that everything will be fine. I got off the bed and tip-toed towards him. In the moment I wrapped my hands around his torso, he tensed at first but then relaxed into my touch. I pressed my forehead against his back and closed my eyes.
“Why do you act like that?” He asked.
“Like what?” I asked, genuinely confused.
He turned around and trapped me between the wall and his body. “Like a lover.” He whispered. Our lips were so close that I could feel his breath.
“I don’t like to see you suffer.” I managed to say.
“You’re too good with me.” He said and moved a strand of hair from my cheek, then caressed it with his thumb.
“I’m just returning the favor. You took care of me once, now it’s my turn.” I said.
“There are more than just a few physical wounds.” He said.
“It doesn’t matter. I am here.”
“Last night I thought I’d never see you again. I’ve been in so many battles but it never occurred to me that I might not return. Yesterday, I was defenseless in front of something really stupid and not even close to the dangers I faced before. And for the first time I realized that we aren’t promised tomorrow.”
“What-” I tried one more time to make him tell but he cut me off.
“I don’t want to pretend that there is nothing between us, Ella. I enjoy our friendship, don’t get me wrong, but I want more.” He said. As I remained silent Hephaestion continued.
“I can’t stop thinking about you.” he confessed, running his thumb over my lower lip. ”I want to kiss every inch of your soft skin. I want to be with you every second of my life. I am tired of running away from my feelings.” His stare was too intense so I had to look away. He pressed a gentle kiss on my neck, making me weak on the knees and then he moved to my jawline.
“I keep replying our dance.” He said and wrapped an arm around my waist bringing me closer. “While dancing with you, I can swear that I heard my heart singing. Our souls, our bodies… we were one. And when you were looking at me the whole world was just an orchestra accompanying us.” As he said that, we were swinging from left to right in a steady rhythm only we knew. “It was just us, Ella.” he whispered in my ear.
“And that kiss in the rain. How stupid could I be to say that I don’t want more. I was hurt before, maybe you were hurt before but let’s give love a try.”
We stopped and looked in each other eyes. He cupped my face and placed a small kiss on my lips.
“Hephaestion….” I whispered.
“Tell me you don’t want this and I will stop.” He said.
I shook my head and tiptoed so I could wrap my arms around his neck. His hands rested on my hips as our lips crashed again. The passion grew stronger with each second. He picked me up and placed me on his desk forcing my legs apart. I wrapped them around his waist trying to be as close to him as it was possible. As he started to leave open-mouth kisses on my neck, his hands grabbed the hem of my dress wanting to lift it. In that moment the door snapped open and Talia appeared. She stopped in the middle of her phrase and looked in shock at us and for a second I could swear that I saw pain in her eyes but she returned to her cold self, just as fast, and said. “I wanted to talk something to you but I can see you’re busy. Breakfast is ready, by the way.” The door slammed after her
He huffed and nuzzled his head on the crook of my neck.
“I think we should go. They’re waiting for us”. I said.
“I don’t care.” He said starting to place soft kisses on the column of my neck trying to get us back into the mood. As his hand wanted to grab my breast I gently stopped him and interlaced our fingers.
“Hephaestion, I’ve never…” He looked confused at me but then he understood.
“You’ve never been touched before.” He concluded.
I slowly shook my head whispering ‘no’ and looked away.
He cupped my cheek and made me look in his eyes. He leaned and our lips touched briefly. “I’ll never do something to make you uncomfortable.” He whispered.
“I know. I trust you, Hephaestion.”
“Let’s have dinner together. I promise you a night you’ll never forget. If you want, we can take it further, if not, I’m just glad I will be spending time with you.“ He said while playing with my hair.
“I would love that.“ I said smiling. “But you have to tell me what happened first.”
His expression suddenly changed and sat on the bed.
“We had a persian spy in our army. Last night I confronted him and we got in a fight. Unlike me, he had a sword. I defended myself until my friends came but it’s kind of hard to fight with your bare hands against someone with a weapon.” He tried to joke.
“And did he give information?” I asked.
“Alexander and the others searched his room. Early this morning, while you were still asleep, he came and told me that there was an unsent letter. We got him on time.” He explained.
“That’s good, isn’t it? He didn’t send it to his superiors. ” I asked.
“The problem is…we don’t know who we can trust anymore…” He took a deep breath and continued. “There are people that suspect you.” He said.
Honestly, I wasn’t surprised. Regarding the circumstances of my arrival, I’d probably be suspicious too. And it didn’t bother me knowing that some persons I probably had no interaction thought bad things about me. The only opinions I cared for, were of those close to me. Especially Hephaestion’s.
“And you… What do you think?” I sat next to him.
“I have no doubt you are loyal. I would have never asked you to stay with me last night if I had any suspicions. I trust you and I will give my word for you against anyone.“ His words brought so much joy in my heart.
“Let’s not think about that today. We shouldn’t be worried about a problem until it appears. I want to cherish these moments with you.” He placed a soft kiss on my forehead.

Great story... Give it a read
Up in the Air - Chapter 1
He had a way of standing too close, his eyes falling to watch your mouth when you speak. His responses were always straight and to the point, whether what he’s saying was in jest, flirtatious, or serious. He was intimidating, but everyone was drawn to him. I found that, even though I strayed from people like him, I was drawn to him too.
I had no idea what was in store for me, how much he’d change my life.
