Today k-Doyoung fans started an hashtag (Doyoung thank you for singing) and made it trend #8 in korea and then taeil fans started theirs to be mad at SM and a lot of them hate on Doyoung. I dont understand why would they hate Doyoung because of it, what is his fault?

A Singapourian journalist compared k-pop fans with soccer fans and he is right, it’s the same thing. 

Homo sapiens is a social animal, but at the same time there is a high intraspecific agression in our species. Humans evolved to live in groups, there is always US and THEM. For people of one group to come together and cooperate, the agression, that builds up from everyday interactions, is directed outside, i.e. on the members of another group. Experiments show that people develop a sense of “we are good, they are bad” very easily and quickly. Children become mortal enemies in two days in summer camps. Complete strangers start to dislike and distrust those volunteers, who were sorted out to the opposite team after a few hours of games. Sport fans beat each other untill blood is spilled for no other reason than that they support different teams and wear different colours. 

It is Doyoung, because he occupies similar position - main vocal, and is everywhere recently. And he is actually the official rival of Taeil (he said so himself, it was so during trainee days, when they were evaluated every week and noone new who will debut). 

It is Doyoung stans, because they dare to be happy with their bias’s achievements, when Taeil stans are miserable.

1) hi, will you do weekly idol analyze? There are some things that caught my attention. When tae do trying to make jaedo his mate. Doyoung was goint to tae but since jae didnt want to go (obviously he wanted to be w doyoung and probably since if they went, tae would choose doyoung he knows it that tae always choose doyoung in the games) so doyoung made sure jae didnt want it so demanded extra time. Even this situation tells so much (like how members said at the end that this was so unexpected)

2) because they are looking for a mate and tae did a good job but doyoung hesisating and slowly go to tae’s side while looking at jae as if he cant go without jae when it is pretty normal, they are rival there. So he changed his decision cuz jae looked so unwillingly. At the end he chose jae over his best friend but tae was so disappointed, kept looking at doyoung im sure he thought doyoung would choose him. Then he danced to make them his mate, look at jae’s reaction, he doesnt enjoy it at all

3) while doyoung enjoying it. Maybe afraid that doyoung would change his decision idk. Then they made eye contact game and mc asked jaedo to do it w eachother too. Look at tae’s reaction shouting that “dont do that”, even mc was surprised asking “you dont want it” and tae kept shouting that dont do it. Why would he give such reaction, it was not that deep,what he was afraid of? His reaction during eye contact too, he looked kind of sad.

4) Then he wasnt choosen at the end,he looked very sad and disappointed. He kept looking at jaedo afterwards. Like watching them during photo time. His mood obviously was down after this. It looks like he took it very seriously but i wonder why, it is just a game, no other members acted like that. Now i know why his fans got mad, they probably felt tae’s mood was down. Tae must have known that they could choose each other tho. He confuses me in general so i wonder what is your opinion.

Analyses

Whether Jaedo knew about the option of not choosing Taeyong and pairing up or not, I doubt they would consider it on their own. Afterall, they had to go with chaperons to sightsee. Doyoung hesitated because he wanted to coax Jaehyun into going. 

It was evident, that Taeyong hoped to pair up with Doyoung, he looked at his direction often and jumped off his chair to help Do to return to his place. He also went to say the pick up line to Doyoung first, giving Jae only a quick glance. So he was dissapointed. However, the whining was done for the show. When a person is genuinely upset, they are fixed on their grievance and the source of it, there is no room for theatrical actions like going up to the wall of falling down on the floor. Taeyong was very competitive during the second part of the game, so he didn’t lose his spirit either.

Members “betray” each other during the games all the time, Taeyong did the same to Do in the past multiple times. Fans forget that it’s just a programme, not a ball, that is held once in half a year. Taeyong can barge into Doyoung’s room in the middle of the night and demand to sing him IU’s dicsography under pretence of not being able to sleep and Doyoung would comply. Do pays a lot of attention to Tae these past months, so it’s not like Tae is shunned away and the game was a rare chance.

I will note though, that when Tae stared down at Jae, he just laughed. When he stared down at Do, he got flustered (the characteristis laugh) as he does with any member who flirts with him. 

Tae was also shy to dance for Jaedo. He mostly faced the camera and sent the kiss to the viewers. Jungwoo, on the other hand, not only approached the members, he also made them participate. 

Taeyong does look upset - he crosses his arms, he is not excited about the toy, he is not very smiley - but he did all of it before the start of the game, i.e. it was just an off day for him (watch him during picking of the balls).

Thank you, I’ve read it yesterday. Jaedo canon compliant fics are so rare and this one is definetely the best so far. A lot of attention to details (Do’s planner, him being especially thin suring Limitless era, Jae’s love for documentaries, etc). And the style is very nice too.

So the famous Do’s gaze happened on December 27. No wonder Jaehyun found courage in him if Doyoung showered him with so much affection.

As for Doyoung. Well, we all know Jae is charming, smart and can be cute, and Doyoung fell victim to that, but why risk carrier for him? Doyoung always wanted to be a singer, he dropped out of school and worked hard for the dream, but it all can dissapear overnight now. So Jaehyun have to offer something more important, than a handsome face and defined abs. And I think it is support. 

Now that Jaehyun grew up, he is pretty equable, he has a steady character. Yes, he can’t deal with his jealousy, but he doesn’t forget cash money, heh. He works hard on making himself a better person and a professional. “I want to grow up quickly”. He is reliable. He is the one who will remember to open up the window, when there is gas leak in the kitchen from a stove (cooking vlive). 

In an emergency most of NCT members will call Doyoung. Doyoung will know what to do. But who will help Doyoung? (he himself named a member who will pick up the phone, was it WW?) Jaehyun helps Doyoung. If you notice he always aids with tasks like gathering the members, collecting things. If Do has an idea, Jae supports it. Jae doesn’t forget to say “yes, I’m listening”, “yes, continue”, “you were talking, but wasn’t heard, repeat again”, when Do MCs. 

Taeyong remembers Doyoung is “glass” and is ready to be there for him, but the leader needs too much special care himself. Jaehyun, on the other hand, is focused on Doyoung and is always ready to be the wall to lean on. Doyoung can relax and “take a breath”. 

And another thing is that Jaedo are really good at understanding each other. People rarely click this well. It’s enough for Do to pat Jae on the arm, for Jae to understand what is wanted from him and proceed to do it. Plus, of course, they share the same dreams and aspirations.

Now I see the example of how people is a reactive creature. No wonder hoax and gossip can massively spread.

There are two systems in the brain.

System 1 is the Autopilot, it constantly monitors what’s going on and makes simple decisions. Tiger - run. Cockroach - kill. Sexy body - desire. People around panic - panic too. 2+2 - is 4. Marriage - sacred union between a man and a woman. Arguments against my beliefs, ideas - disregard or punch in the face. System 1 relies on the previous experience, preconceptions, ready answers stored in it (sky is blue, boys be boys, grandmothers bake best pies, Russia is cold and ballet) and doesn’t ask additional questions, doesn’t doubt or think throughly.

System 2 is the Computer. It solves difficult problems, answers complicated questions, says “give me a day to think everything through”. It arrests quick reactions and is human’s rational side.

That’s simplifying it of course.

System 2 consumes a lot of energy. Your head is ready to explode during exams and no powers left afterwards? You used your Computer too much. The brain always want to preserve energy, there were no supermarkets in the past and food was scarce. Therefore the brain prefers to use only System 1. React, don’t think. Unfortunetely, our world is too complex now, people need to use System 2 more. Many people don’t. Some never.

Oh. Don't forget the one which Jaehyun just got home from his jungle-theme variety show and he did a self-cam.

Getting in the same frame with Doyoung hyung is his habit now? Oh really?

It has been for a long time? 

- Cherry bomb MV backstage;

- Beach in LA, after Yuta and Haechan attacked Doyoung;

- Self-cam, when Do ate a cookie and Jae jokes he wouldn’t interview him;

- That time when Jae appeared in the frame covering his eyes with cookies;

- When Do and Taeil sat together during backstage and Jae appeared with hand-hearts;

- The night club party the members went to in USA;

- Jae’s Puff self-cam with sakura petals;

etc.

I haven't seen you update on ao3 so I visit you here on tumblr instead. (I check DoJae tag at least thrice a day hehe) Also, I'm probably late but I just want to talk about that same sex idol couple that dispatch have. I'm actually scared for that couple and my mind went to this pair for some reasons. Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and say I still love reading through your notes. Nowadays, I see myself looking closely to how members behave with each other too! Lol. Fighting! 💕

I advertise myself on AO3, my final goal has been always to lure people to Tumblr. I’m more of a lecturer, than writer, this platform is better suited for my rantings, than a fanfic site. I’m lazy to be bothered with HTML to properly insert pictures. I should comb through the posts and find some usable text to update AO3 though.  

If we mean the same couple, they should be OK in the long run. SM has high incentive to bear with them being so problematic. As for Jaedo, they are super cautious, even shippers have hard time believing they are dating.

Do you think Jaehyun is rather have obsession with Doyoung, then?

Obsession! - cue the music.

It depends on your definition of the word “obsession” in relation to love. 

Firstly, let’s look at the “people in my head” schemes that people of different brain types draw, when asked to remember all their friends, relatives, acquaintances. 

Jaehyun is type one. As you see, everybody are in order, there is family row, classmates row, club members row, etc. The people are also listed in order of importance. There is linear hyerarchy. When Jae is with NCT and Doyoung is present, his focus is on him as the most important person. He can temporally switch his focus to others, of course, but they won’t take all of his attention. He will still continue to monitor Doyoung and what he is doing. That’s why Jae laughs at Do’s jokes even when he is not looking at him and other people chat loudly. When Doyoung is absent, Jae can focus on another friend. If you noticed during MV shootings, if Jae plays with somebody (WW, Mark), he keeps far away from Do. If Do approaches, he steals his attention. 

Doyoung is type two. You can see that there are interconnected groups. When Doyoung is in a group, he pays attention to everybody, his focus is dispersed. Or rather, the whole group is his focus. That’s why he can notice that one member lacks a pen, another needs to be supported with words, etc. 

Secondly, type 1 has problems with socialising. Just look at Mark and Taeyong. This skill doesn’t come naturally, it is learned. People of Type 1 have to think “in this situation this behaviour is appropriate”, “this person looks sad, I need to come and cheer them up”. Jaehyun goes the easy road and is just “nice”. 

Because it is not easy to click with other people for Jaehyun, he values Doyoung even more. Do has Tae and Jeno, but I doubt Jae’s love for his soulmate Mark is as deeply rooted as Do’s for Jeno. Jae has good friends in Yuta, WinWIn, Tae, Ten and Johnny, but none of these relationships come close to the one with Doyoung. 

So Jae has “I’m not letting this person, who is perfect for me, go” obsession.
