Notes on Fortel:

Although this previous ask was semi-dodged as par for course for the character, I did wish to share some notes regarding Lady Helia’s home planet!

Fortel is located in a sister system to that of Pop star’s within the Gamble Galaxy. It has captured the hearts of bards with its verdant mountains and valleys, and the curiosity of scholars with its wealth of ancient ruins, being one of the few civilizations that had survived the great darkness of millennia past.

Ancient Fortian society was recorded to be akin to a premonition-based theocracy. Great value was placed upon fulfilling one’s destined fate, and those gifted with clairvoyant abilities were highly regarded and expected to lead their people so that they may fulfil as such.

Today, with much of its history having faded to legend, Fortel remains a popular tourist destination for its sights.

so. okay. in a lot of our beautiful Lady Helia's artwork, we know she's the only puffball out there, but there seem to be a lot of eggs around on Fortel. and the lovely Phemus also appears to be an egg!!

so I guess what I'm wondering, is if Phemus herself is from or has ever been to Fortel? and if she might have any fond or otherwise significant memories of her time there? 👀

Oho, excellent question! 👀 Before I get into this answer, I wanted to take a second and refer back to some older lore dumps to help lay down context 👉 The Stardust Cycle | Helia's Legend

As far as she (and everyone else) knew at that time, Lady Helia was the only puffball in existence in this corner of the galaxy.

For systems consumed by the Singularity's hunger, the situation was dark, both figuratively and literally. There were no stars, which meant there was little to no stardust. The number of Puffballs and other stardust-reliant species dwindled to the point that they were practically considered myth.

In a world where the stardust was spread so thin--and consequently, in a world that was poor in magic--the fact that Lady Helia manifested such powerful abilities, let alone existed at all, was considered nothing short of an absolute miracle, one that was dictated by Fate itself.

The denizens of Fortel believed heavily in such mechanisms. From the moment her shooting star blazed across their skies, they were more than prepared to take the young puffball under their loving care and raise her to her fullest potential. Her arrival was a gift from the stars, a sign that their days of darkness were sure to end, and denizens of surrounding systems were inclined to agree once the good word spread.

So while Lady Helia may have been the only one of her kind at the time, she was never truly alone, in the loving hands of all the communities within her orbit.

But that in itself can be even lonelier.

Oh fun question anon!

I've answered for Stell to some extent in a previous ask, so I'll answer for Lady Helia here!

Should one find themself on the wrong end of her spear, Lady Helia's moveset would borrow a lot from Chaos Elfilis's moveset (albeit with more graceful movements), starting with broad slashes and lunges with her spear, before leaning more heavily in magical attacks.

Visually I think all her attacks would be blindingly luminous (attacking with the full concentrated power of the Sun), perhaps also punctuated with bursts of sparks that can cause damage for those who stop blocking too soon, similar to some of the Teostra's moveset from Monster Hunter!

Incidentally I think the Teostra's Supernova move would be a really good late phase opener with how bright and flashy it is, perhaps mixed with the Black Hole move that a lot of Kirby Bosses have so it draws her opponents in before exploding violently haha

I just want you to know, Phemus has an extremely distinct and unique vibe. She at once seems like the most chill bro to ever float through the air and reap souls but also like the most dubious shape in all of existence. I feel as if I could trust her with my life but also shouldn't trust her with a sandwich. Congrats on making a character of all time. She is wonderful. :>

This was a question I was waiting to be asked wrt Stell so I couldn't help but grace it with a more extensive response, thank you starflung and @novabear0!

As of now, No, Stell has never been possessed, and as far as he can tell, has never been mind controlled either. Stell's unique bond with Parhelic Anima grants them resistance to such conditions and outside influences, and both are perfectly happy to keep it that way.
