Sebastian died. I just found him. I looked up how long they are supposed to live and gosh I just basically murdered him. He was about 4 months old. This is my fault I feel horrible. I miss him already. I wrapped him up in tissues and put him in a "coffin" under the aquarium.
I'm so sorry my boy. I adored you so much. If there's an afterlife, I hope you get to live the best one ever, swimming with other shrimp in beautiful waters, eating the best algae there is.
I think it would make sense to talk about my aquarium on this account than on my main, so I'll share some nice pictures.
I finally got some "aquarium cleaners" (lol), 2 shrimps and 2 plecos (the plecos are still young so they're smol), and I managed to get a picture of all of them.
Upper left: Sebastian
Cute lil dude, so energetic. He did walk around in the tank in the shop, but a few minutes after I got him into the water, he came out, started exploring, and then as if I gave him coffee mixed with energy drinks, he started swimming around, looking at everything, he even grabbed a few small "stones" from the sand, carried it a little then threw them down. Didn't know that shrimps had such characters, though I should have.
Upper right, shrimp 2: I didn't give him a name yet. He also seems to enjoy his new home, though he's way different. He's really shy, I barely see him, and when I do, it's in places where he blends in easily. It doesn't help that he's smaller than Sebastian somehow. As soon as there is some sound, he hides and spends most of his time in the back of the tank. That's fine to me, though I hope that he will be braver as time goes on. Idk how visible it is, but he's a deep orangy-red with his middle being white. If someone has a name, any name, please let me know. I don't know if I will get more shrimp, but if I do, I'll probably get different colors so that I can tell them apart at least.
Bottom two: pleco 1 and pleco 2. They don't care what's going on. They just attach themselves anywhere. For the first hour, I barely saw them, but now, they're like "this is cool" and unless you move something suddenly in front of them, they will just stay glued to where they find most comfortable. I want to name them too, but they're still so young and small, I can't tell them apart. So I'll wait until they grow. My previous 2 plecos, though the same type, looked different enough as they grew up that I could tell them apart at a glance.
The water looks weird on some pics I know, it's difficult to take a picture with a phone camera in an aquarium. It's not some high tech expensive camera unfortunately. Hopefully next week, my mother will be able to talk with her coworker, and we will pick up some baby fish from him. I don't know what fish they are, only that he had too many babies suddenly and now he needs them gone somehow. So I'm excited.
I'm also in the process of hatching brine shrimp for fish food. I don't think a full 24 hours have passed anyway, but I will wait until tomorrow, I'm up early, and by then I hope there will be baby brine shrimp swimming around. They are lucky, they will live a bit, until I get fish. Well, a part will continue to live, as I will raise and breed them. At least that's the plan. I hope it will work.

Hello this a long shot call, am a citizen of Palestine. I am here to request for your support to help get my insulin, I was diagnosised with type 1 diabetes and due to current situation in Gaza I'm unable to get my insulin injection as a result I'm here begging for little financial support to help me purchase insulin for this week.My donation link is available on my pinned post
Hello. I am unfortunately not in a financial situation where I can donate right now, I just had my own medical problems this week as well. But I will still share this here, so hopefully others can see it. I hope you will be able to get enough money for your insulin. I wish you all the best and hope that the genocide will end in Palestine. Stay strong and don't give up. Best of luck and all the love from me.
