Writing prompt 11/03/2024: Sin of Greed
Michael is mean. That is all.
Prompt: Write a stream of consciousness for a character who is on their way to confront someone.
TWs: Implied infedelity, Implied toxic relationship (MC is toxic and possessive), mention of God punishing people, Implied violence, Implied murder.
Word count: 265
My darling. My beautiful Goddess. My summer sunset. My winter twilight. How your mistake will cost you dearly. The price of your action are increases with every second that passes by. The heat of my anger fries my brain the longer I sit and fester with your sins. Your disobedience against God will not go unpunished.
My shoes are so heavy, filled with the weight of my betrayal as I pace the floor. I understand I’m not a perfect specimen myself, although much better than the common plebian, but I would never subject the one I cherish most to the monster that you’ve hidden. How was he? Did he make you content? Why would you ever need anything more than what I give you? I gave you love, money, company, freedom, commitment. I never overstepped, never shied away or disrespected you. I kept you safe and sound within this house. You said you were lonely; I gave you actors and actresses to play with. You said you were sad; I gave you all the top comedians to make you smile. You said you felt trapped in the house, I gave you a bigger house with a bigger garden to walk through. You said you felt chained to me, I got rid of all your chain jewellery, and left for work earlier only to come home later as well. I gave you so so much, but your greed can’t be ignored. Once you walk through this door, I’ll show you. I’ll show you how much greed can give you but how much it takes in return.

Writing prompt 08/03/2024: Anger's kiss goodbye
Prompt: Two characters kiss goodbye knowing that this is the last time they'll see each other.
TW: Death, water/ocean, implied murder, kissing a dead person, implied abusive relationship if you squint real hard
Word count: 389
It has come to this. She lies in front of me, her hair flows out from beneath her head in the deep waters. A tear in my eye falls down my burning skin, leaving a cool trail of moisture.
“I’m so sorry. I really didn’t mean to-” my voice breaks. She stares up at me. Brown eyes turn amber in the moonlight as they hold peace, her lips turned downwards from her despair. Her skin is soft but turning colder by the minute, the red of her lips fade to a deep blue matching the abyss that sinks below her feet. “If you hadn’t- If you hadn’t of left. Gone on that damned train or with that idiot of a man, you could still be here with me.” I turn my gaze away from her paling face. I cannot bear to see her like this, with no energy or her normal fiery attitude.
“Maybe this is how you truly wanted to leave me. You wanted to leave by my hand, and now you have.” I slowly release her head from my palms, her body starting to be dragged down from the rocks tied to her ankles. I watch her blank face warp from the water, illuminated by the gentle moonlight. As she falls deeper into the void, I feel a pull. I cannot leave her like this, not without saying goodbye, not without feeling her one more time. I jump in, the ice-cold water greeting my body with a shock. I splash ferociously, desperate to catch up to her fading form.
I grab her arms and pull her towards me. Her gorgeous, dead eyes stare at me once more. I lean in, her lips feeling cracked and deflated against mine as I pressed her to my torso. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting; maybe for her to accept me back or hold me closely, but instead her blue lips are as frozen as the water and her arms are stiff as they floated above her head. I let her go.
She drifts back down, unwavering and still, lifeless and drained. I kick back up. I never wanted it to end like this. I never wanted it to end at all. But I guess my anger just got the better of me this time, and it cost me dearly.

Writing prompt 06/03/2024: I win
Prompt: Write a scene where two characters make some sort of pact or promise to each other. Incorporate some sort of bad weather.
TW: Uncensored use of the word H3ll, mention of blood, violence, murder
Word count: 239
“You have to promise me! Please!” She begged at my feet, the rain soaking her clothes. Why does she think I owe her anything? Why would I go out of my way to fulfill some stupid last wish from a person who I wish would burn in the deepest depths of Hell.
“You have nothing to give and I have nothing to lose. Why would I ever listen to someone who can’t even look at me in the eyes as they beg.” I’m not oblivious to the blood pooling beneath her, but I will take every moment I get to torment and make her last pitiful minutes on this Earth as painful as possible.
“I know, I know! But you have to listen! If anything happens to it. We’ll all perish. And everything that anyone has worked to create and build will be destroyed! Take everything away from me, I don’t care, but the least you can do is let everyone else live!” She shouts, her eyes getting more deranged by the second, slowly swaying from lightheadedness.
I let my grin claw its way onto my face, “I guess we’ll all see you in Hell, darling”, lifting the metal pole stained with blood, I slam it into her head one last time. She immediately crumples into a pile. Her fingers twitch, but no other response is given. We’re all as good as dead, and for once I cannot wait.

Writing prompt 04/03/2024: Lucky draw
The second instalment in the series of "The teacher gave a prompt and I wrote a story"... please help me make up a name
Prompt: Write a scene where one of your characters drinks a potion and they don't know what the potion is going to do.
TW: mentions of death
Word count: 208
It’s a lucky draw, I guess. The dark blue and black liquid is glossy in its clay bottle prison. There is no label, only a lone tag stating, “those who wish to leave this world, drink this potion and be gone for good. Those who wish to seek more, your sin of selfishness will be your downfall.”
The little girl who gave me the bottle stands in front of me. Her devilishly dark smile holds secrets that I cannot, and a part does not want to, decode. I have been plagued for millennia now, Death always lurking around the corner but never able to wrap his slender fingers around my neck.
When I drink this potion, maybe his hands will close firmly around my throat to rip away the one thing binding me to this Earth. Maybe the potion will take me away to a new land, where the animals are wild and mysterious, or the trees tell stories as I pass them by.
But from the look in this girl’s eyes, I know I’m wrong. She carefully chose me since she knew I would become another soul amongst the other diseased and rotten souls in her clay bottle prison.
Maybe it’s not a lucky draw after all.

Writing prompt 01/03/2024: One empty space
This is the start of a series of writing prompts given by my literature teacher, and the short stories that I wrote in response to them. Hope you enjoy.
Prompt: Unknown/unrecorded
TW: Implied murder/plan to murder
Word count: 344
Her eyes tell her thoughts. She’s angry, she’s hurt, she’s ready. She tries her hardest to keep calm and collected on the outside, but her stern gaze and tense mouth gives me all the information I already know.
We’ve been talking about it a lot lately. She has lots of clothes in her cupboard that she doesn’t wear, hydrochloric acid that is able to get stains of red dye out of white clothes, gloves to not get paint underneath your fingernails. I have a long walk home from school, a lovely bridge that I throw big rocks off of, matches in case my candles get blown out, and a big suitcase to fit all of my souvenirs of my adventures into. We have it all, we just need somebody to make all of things be put into use.
And she knows who.
We both didn’t like him. He was stuck up, arrogant, annoying with a sense of entitlement that would combat a devoted Christian’s belief in God. He pushed and pushed, never feeling anything push back. I guess that will change soon.
Leaving isn’t that far away. In 6 months, we’ll all be walking across a stage, looking out best. Smiling out amongst a sea of sheep heads, while the bright flash of a lie flashes in our faces. Most of us will be anyway. All 214 of us will stand for one last time on the stage we’ve stared at for 6 years, but there will be one spot empty. A purposeless tribute to a lost cause who won’t be missed despite the fake tears and sobs they all shed during his service. The clothes will be ruined, the acid wiping away the red, the gloves protecting the fingernails from the sticky liquid. The walk is longer, the object makes a big splash as it hits the water, the ashes of the ruined clothes mixing with the water, the suitcase sinking ever so slowly deeper into the river. He put all of those things to good use.
She knew who.
The perfect person.
