Very funny to see Super Mario theorycrafters getting worked up about what Pauline being a little girl in Donkey Kong Bonanza implies for the notional timeline, given that a. the specific version of Donkey Kong from the Donkey Kong Country franchise showing up in any sort of Super Mario crossover media has literally never made sense timeline-wise, but this is the final straw? and b. I feel like "why is she a child?" is eliding the much more pressing question of "why is she a rock?"

Part of the reason I'm so adamant about encouraging people to get comfortable with bugs, my own interests aside, is because we cannot have a bright, solarpunk future without them.

A green future is not a bugless future. It is, in fact, a fairly bugful future. If you care about ecological stability, then you need to start with bugs, because they're the most at risk with our current use of pesticides.

Isn't it fucking insane that so many people think that IQs are real. Like people genuinely believe you are born with one set level of intelligence that can be measured on a scale from 1 to ~200. As if intelligence wasn't extremely nuanced and completely subjective. And the fact that the majority of scientists that have advocated for IQ tests in the past have been eugenicists doesn't seem to concern anyone either

theres this phenomenon online. that ive seen a lot of recently especially with the switch 2 and new lilo and stitch but has happened for years which i am honestly baffled by. where a new upcoming product gets announced and a buncha people talk about how bad its gonna be and how no-one should get it. and then the product comes out and a buncha people end up buying it. and then some randos online go "i cant believe after all that complaining about how bad product was gonna be, yall went out and bought it anyway. dont yall have any self-restraint" and like. i gotta wonder. what goes on in their brain where they think "people who complained about upcoming product" and "people who bought upcoming product" are the same group? like. there might be some people who are in both groups, but why would the majority of people be in both groups? how is that logical at all?
