Stream Blue Neighbourhood

If you can’t buy the album (or if you’ve already downloaded the album, but would like to help out) then there is another way that you can help out troye on the charts. As of last year, Billboard now includes streaming from any of the major streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, etc  into the calculations of their charts. 

1500 streams of a song from an album equals to 1 album sale. Although that might seem like a lot at first, it is easy to do if we get a lot of people to stream. Imagine it as 10 people streaming the song 150 times, or 100 people streaming the song 15 times, or 1500 people streaming a song once. We just need everyone to help. Below i've come up with some tips to help us stream the album

For Spotify you can stream the songs using a playlist. That is the best way to make sure that your streams count. I’ve already made an 8 hour playlist of Youth that you can follow and stream here and a playlist of all of the songs from the album added about 1500 times altogether that you can follow and stream here

You can just plug in your earbuds/headphones or turn down the volume (Do not turn it down all the way or mute it  or else the streams will not count) and let the playlist play. The best thing to do would be to set up Spotify on your computer and play the playlist while you are asleep (if you do this make sure to go to your power setting and set it up so your computer doesn’t go to sleep)

For Apple Music you can make playlist similar to the spotify ones. Just make sure you’re streaming the song from Apple Music and not from your library or else it wont count,

Billboard only looks at streams from the US, but you can still help out if you’re from outside the fandom. You can use a VPN like Zenmate or the free trial for VyprVPN or another VPN service that you trust (do not use Hola because it has some problems with it) and change your location to the US and then make a free US Spotify account and stream the playlists. (send me an ask off of anon if you would like more info about this”)

You can stream from Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play at the same time to triple your streams. You can also make more than 1 account and stream from more than 1 device. (You can do all of this and have it stream while you’re asleep)

You can also ask your family and friends to stream the album too. They can stream it while they sleep so it doesn’t affect their daily routine.

The time period we have to stream for it to count in Blue Neighbourhood’s first week is from now until Thursday (December 10th), so please start streaming and please spread this around the fandom so that everyone can help. Let’s try to get the album to debut somewhere in the top 4 Billboard Top 200 Album chart

Blue Neighbourhood Gifting Project

As most of you can remember, I did a gifting project for Wild which did pretty well, so I decided to do another one for Blue neighbourhood, but this time I changed a few thing to help the project work better

This time I won’t post the form to sign up to receive the album until Wednesday. This is so I can keep track of how many albums can be gifted. Once I have an idea i’ll open up the other form and will keep both open for the week following the release of the album

Let’s Get Youth on the Radio

So as i’m sure we all know Troye is releasing Youth tonight and It seems like he and his team are pushing Youth as a single. I think it would be a great idea to work together as a fandom and get Youth on the radio.

Radio airplay is important because not only does it help the song on the charts, but it’ll also introduce the song and troye to a whole new audience of people who might have known about Troye. 

One thing that should really help us accomplish is that Troye has already visited a bunch of big radio stations while he was in the US and those radio stations would be much more willing to play Youth if we request it. 

What to Do:

Z100: 

Tweet them at @z100newyork​ and ask them politely to play Youth (here is an example tweet)

Call them at 1-800-242-0100 and request Youth

DC show fan project

WHAT: We’ve all seen how touched troye has been by all of the signs at the previous shows, so we’re going to try to do the same thing at the DC show by holding up signs that say “ We ♥ you” 

WHEN: At the start of Suburbia we’re going to hold up the signs and keep them up the entire song; 

HOW; Print out copies from here (the paper size should be 8 1/2 x 11)

i will be handing out some copies in line, but it would be very helpful if people printed out extra copies and handed them out to other people who might not have seen this post or heard about the project.

Teens (and Elders) react to the Blue Neighbourhood trilogy

So we know that Troye has said that he created the trilogy in hopes of reaching the people surrounding LGBTQ+ kids and showing them how their reaction and actions can affect those kids. One way we can help him achieve this goal is by trying to get the FineBros to have teens react to the trilogy.

If we can get Teens or even Elders to react to the trilogy then that would be a large new audience that would be exposed to the trilogy who wouldn’t have seen it otherwise which is what Troye wants.

How do we do this?

1. The best way to do this is to comment on every video the Fine Bros. upload from now until we get either teens or elders to react to the series.

So, the next time they upload a video go to the comment section and comment “Teens react to the Blue Neighbourhood trilogy by Troye Sivan” and then make a separate comment that says something similar to “Elders react to the Blue Neighbourhood trilogy by Troye Sivan”

After you’re done commenting go through the comment section and like other comments that say the same thing and reply to them so the the Fine Bros. can see how many of us want this.

2. The 2nd best way is to tweet the fine bros (@thefinebros) and to ask them politely to have teens and elders react to the series.

It might take a while (anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months) for it to happen, but if we stay persistent then I know we can do it and that we can bring a whole new audience to Troye. We would also be helping to spread the message of the trilogy to the demographic Troye wants to reach the most.

Fools on Saturday Night Online

Saturday Night Online is a radio show that streams to over 140+ top radio stations across the U.S. Every hour they play the most requested song of that hours, so tonight let's try to get Fools (which was the top voted song on the poll I did) on the radio, so that means that starting at 7pm Eastern Time until 12AM, you have to vote every hour to make Fools the most requested song of the hour.

There are 5 different platforms for you to request the song on, and they combine the total to decide which is the most requested song. I know that we're gonna have a lot of competition from other fandoms that will be trying to get their song on there, but we’re a huge fandom and I know we can make this happen

Project #2: Saturday Night Online

Before i start with the 2nd project I just want to thank everyone who participated in the gifting project. Although we weren’t able to give everyone the album, we still managed to Gift around 70 copies of the album. That is amazing and couldn’t have been done without all of the people that participated. 

For the 2nd project I want to try to get one of the songs from WILD to play on Saturday Night Online. Saturday Night Online is an iHeartRadio show that broadcasts every Saturday night from 7PM-12AM EST to over 140= top radio stations across the United States. The show has this thing where they play the most requested song of the hour.

 If we can get one of the songs from WILD as the most requested song, then that would mean that 140+ radio stations across the country would be playing it and so many people outside of the fandom would get to hear Troye. We would have tough competition from other fandoms of big artists, but I think we could do it if we would all band together and work very hard, 

We would also have to agree on one song from the album to promote so our efforts are more focused. Wild Gifting Project [Update]

Hey guys, I’m gonna close the form to gift Wild in about 2 hours (I’ve already closed the form to receive it) around 12PM EST so if you want to participate and gift the album/EP to someone you have until then. Just remember:

You can only gift the album to people in your country. (If you’re from outside the U.S and you’re thinking of participating please do because we have a lot of people from outside the U.S who would love to get the album)

So a couple of days ago I made a post about a gifting project I wanted to do for wild. Although there was a huge response to the post, there still aren't enough people who signed up to gift the album. 

So if you can afford to gift even 1 copy of Wild or you know someone else who can gift it please participate in this project. It's very easy to participate (all you have to do is fill out the form and then gift the album to the person/people I will email you on the 3rd) and it's only $5. Not only will this project help out other people in the fandom, it's also going to help troye out on the charts.

I know that not all of us can afford to get the album for a lot of different reasons so I also came up with another project where if you can afford to pre-order/buy another copy of the album, you can sponsor/gift a copy to someone else who can’t buy it.

Welcome to The Wild Project

As I’m sure all of us know by now, Troye will be dropping his album/EP, Wild, on September 4th. He’s worked so hard on this album, and he’s put his heart and soul into it, so now it’s our turn to work hard to make sure that it gets the recognition and attention that it deserves.

Last year TRXYE managed to reach #5 on Billboard, and I think it would be amazing if we could get Wild to debut at the top 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Not only would that be huge for us, but I know that would mean a lot to Troye to see the album that he’s worked so hard on at the top 3 of such huge, important chart.

The chart numbers/position are calculated through a lot of things so we would have to work together and work really hard if we want Wild to get to the top 3. The chart looks at:

Sales

Radio Play/Airtime

Spotify/Apple Music Streaming

Views on official Youtube videos

There is already a very good post that mentions all of this (which you should definitely check out and reblog here). I just created this blog to share some of the ideas/projects i came up with to help with all of things the chart looks at. I will be posting these projects/ideas throughout this week and next week (In fact you can see the first project here), but I just wanted to make this post to introduce the project to everyone.
