in 1992, the writer paul auster published a novel which features a character named maria turner, a photographer and conceptual artist who lives in new york city. the character and her career were closely modeled after the artist sophie calle, a friend of auster's. calle in turn began to model her own life after the fictional artist based on herself and recreated the character's artworks, one of which involved only eating monochromatic meals for a week. books i read in 2025 - 28 - much ado about nothing / william shakespeare

i am slowly but surely making my way thru the shakespeare canon! this is one i was particularly looking forward to, and i wasn’t disappointed. much ado is so goofy. dogberry was genuinely cracking me up, which is insane for a text this old. beatrice is such a character of all time to me, i love how she enters the scene and is immediately shit talking benedick when he isn’t even THERE. just a goofy fun read thank u shakespeare 8/10
