BEFORE: 

youngest sibling of finn cruz ( hold your applause until the end )

in a nutshell, the dizzee kipling of their siblings: a little eccentric, bi as hell, The Artist / will fight anyone anytime for their siblings, btw

 began to identify as nonbinary at thirteen (right before the outbreak)  / femme - aligned, but prefers ‘ they / them ‘ pronouns more often than ‘ she / hers ‘ 

a devoted lover of books / they themselves had hoped to be a writer or a publisher before the actual apocalypse happened. they’re hoping the little journals they keep will turn into something when this is over, though.

named themselves ‘ blue ‘ for the ~ aesthetic ~ like a dork

maybe a little blames themselves for their mother leaving

quietly optimistic but somewhat wary of most people, especially after the outbreak

AFTER: 

in their travels before new haven, blue had collected each and every book they could find. they traded some of the sillier ones that could be used as firewood for certain provisions, but clings to them all. it’s important to them that knowledge + art survives in this terrifying world.

arrived at new haven a little after finn after having been separated, certain that if they split up and went to different sanctuary towns, one of them would be bound to find the rest of their family.  they were wrong and showed up to new haven more than a little bruised up

when they were searched, it was a bit of a shock when the tons of weapons they expected blue to have on them turned out to be dozens of books + a bat decorated with nails and a small pistol 

official job title of librarian includes: keeping records of pretty much everything in storage, handling statistics / information anyone might need,  assisting teachers once in a while with rants about classic literature
