For the prompt ask, supercorp + elevator
Listen I’m as surprised as you that this is another happy one, trying to keep things interesting. Thanks for the ask :)
----- ----- ----- -----
Kara had a plan; a plan to tell Lena she loves her, well really first it was a plan to ask Lena to dinner, a non-friends dinner, which then she hoped would lead to asking her to be her girlfriend, which then she hoped would lead to telling her she loved her — it was a good plan, she even wrote it down.
Kara's fingers press against the paper in her pocket, the folds and ink wearing thinner with each worrying pass.
"Hey Kara, I didn't forget you were coming here, did I?'
Kara looks up, startled by the sound of Lena's voice coming from her desk, her hand slipping quickly from her pocket up to the frame of her glasses.
"No, No...I just, there was just something, is just something I wanted to ask you about."
Lena tilts her head a little, drawn to the curiosity of Kara's minor rambling.
"Sure, do you mind riding with me down to the labs? we can talk on the way?"
And this was not in the plan — "yeah, yes, that, yes" — but it could still be okay.
It was not okay, it was not okay because in the time it took Kara to remember that she had the ability to form coherent sentences around Lena, the elevator stops, its doors opening to reveal Nigel from Environmental Services and his very large supply cart.
"Sorry, Miss Luthor, Miss Danvers, excuse me."
Lena offers her a small apologetic smile before taking a small step to the side to make room, and here's the thing, Kara has a choice in that second, she could either step to the left or to the right, to the left, she would be stuck next to Nigel, to the right, she would be pushed impossibly closer to Lena, and she isn't sure she could survive that right now, so against every instinct, she steps awkwardly to the left and away from Lena, having to put her hands out quickly to stop her self from falling.
Kara manages to recover just as the elevator starts moving again and has to lean forward slightly to look around Nigel's cart, but as she watches Lena from her newly relegated position on the opposite side of the small space and catches her laughing quietly into her hand, she falls just that more in love with her.
As the floors continue to blink passed, she thinks through all the things she wants to say again, thinks all the ways it's still a good plan, thinks she can still get a moment alone with Lena in the labs, or back up in her office, and — "Excuse me, Ms. Luthor, I think you dropped a piece of paper" — and no no no no no, Kara looks quickly down at Nigel and the folded piece of paper he is handing to Lena, it's thinning edges worn through with familiar ink. She shoves her hands frantically into her pockets, turning the fabric inside out, the movement drawing Nigel's attention back to her just as the elevator stops one more time.
Kara tries to smooth the fabric of her pants back into place, although she's not really sure why; Lena is still clinging to the note in her hands, eyes yet to look up; Nigel clears his throat a little, quietly says, excuse me again as he and manages to just squeeze himself in between them.
The doors close, and Kara hesitates only briefly before trying to get Lena to look at her because, honestly, she doesn't know how much time they are going to have to finally be alone in this elevator.
"Lena?"
"You-You love me," Lena breathes out slowly, leaning her back against the elevator wall.
Kara steps forward, paces a little even, "No! Yes! Yes," reaches gently towards her, fingers pressing into the words as proof, "yes, I love you, of course, I love you, it's even there, on the paper see, but you, and I had a plan, and I thought, well, I thought maybe we could start with dinner."
Lena presses into the word just as Kara had done, "a non-friends dinner?"
Kara leans next to Lena against the wall and slips their hands together, " yeah, a non-friends dinner."
Lena smiles and stretches up to kiss Kara's cheek, leaning across as she does to press the door open button.
"Well, I think it's a good plan."

Supergirl episode idea my brain won't give up on...
So because I’m a huge story nerd and like fixing things I think about Supergirl a lot, because that show was a mess and the greatest waste of potential I think I’ve seen… possibly ever. Anyway, I’ve had this idea about an episode that won't go away so I’m sharing it here in the hopes it stops coming to me at 3am and I can finally get some sleep.
I feel like an episode like this, one where the focus was on Kara and her emotions and letting her talk, could have been useful in terms of character development and I think Melissa is more than capable as a dramatic actress of holding our attention without needing a million other things going on around her and an episode like this would have given her a chance to actually show that as Supergirl. I also think it would have been a good chance to show some actual processing of emotions and issues without it being about fighting someone (because really too much of that show was about fighting someone over actual story and character development).
So this idea is set early S3, when Kara is struggling with her identity and not wanting to be Kara and all that jazz. Please note this is not an attack on the writers or suggesting what they used in S3 instead was bad or anything like that, this is just an example of the kind of stories and character based episodes I really wish we’d gotten on the show because honestly I haven't even been able to finish watching most of it as the writing is just so... honestly boring. But I love the characters so I keep trying.
Also it's a bit long so sorry about that.
......
We open with Kara having just done some kind of fight and the DEO are collecting like a Fort Rozz detainee or something. Have Alex say something about how that’s all wrapped up and suggesting Kara get some rest because she’s really been putting in extra hours and it’s getting late. Kara saying she’s just going to do a short flight before she goes home. Alex reluctantly agrees. Maybe have Alex (or possibly Winn over coms) say something about reports of some hikers setting off fireworks in the National park.
Result, Kara is flying over the mountains around National City and then her powers falter and then she tries to recover but not very well. She barely manages to give Alex a warning before she crashes into a cliff having blown out her powers.
Her earpiece is destroyed in the crash and she’s a little beaten up but otherwise okay. She sighs and takes out her phone and tries to call Alex (no service) then sees a picture of her and Mon-el as her phone background. She starts breaking down a bit her head in her hands tears coming and then there’s a voice calling from somewhere nearby.
“Hello! Is anyone there? Please, I need help!”
Kara of course follows the voice and goes into a cave to find a rock climber trapped in the cave partway down on a ledge under a small rockslide with a large boulder pinning his legs.
“Supergirl!” he says excitedly. “Wow, am I glad to see you. Can you get me out?”
Then Kara has a bit of an extension to her breakdown because she looks at this guy who’s evidently trapped suddenly so excited thinking he’s saved. She gets down to him and tearfully has to tell him she’s so sorry she actually blew out her powers so she’s only human right now.
He just looks at her and sighs.
“Well… that sucks,” he said giving her a smile. “How’d you blow out your powers?”
“I uh… I haven’t really… slept in… like a week.”
He looked at her and nodded slowly. Maybe here she notices he's shivering and so shifts to be holding him and wrap him in her cape or something to keep him warm.
“Well uh, since it seems we’re both stuck here why don’t you tell me why you haven't slept in a week.”
Kara lets out a surprised laugh and wipes at her tears.
“You want me to tell you about my problems right now?”
He nodded.
“Well I think my problems are pretty obvious,” he motioned to the rocks covering his lower half. “Big rocks stuck on my legs, slowly bleeding out. Yours seem much less obvious and far more interesting, come on tell me all about it. I’ve been told I’m a good listener. At least that’s what my wife says, she always tells me Pete you might drive me mad but at least I know you’ll listen as I complain about it.”
He gives her a bright smile and Kara thinks about it. She looks at him and then the rocks and back again.
“Normally I wouldn’t rush you, but I don’t wanna pass out from blood loss halfway through something important, you might think I’m being rude.”
“How can you joke about that?” Kara asked horrified. “Maybe I can move the rocks and free you and-”
“And I’ll die much faster,” he said giving her another smile. “Some of this is actually stopping me from bleeding out. And before you suggest going for help the nearest person is a three hour hike, and I’ll be dead by then.”
Kara looked at him alarmed.
“I’m a pretty experienced climber, not that it looks like it right now but…” He sighed. “I know I’m dying Supergirl, but... I’d rather not die alone in the cold and dark.”
Moment of quiet then another smile from the guy and he pats her hand.
“So come on, tell me what’s going on. I promise I won’t tell anyone else. And I could uh, I could really use a distraction.”
Kara looks at him and then sighs and nods.
“So I… I had a boyfriend. And I had to uh… he was…”
She took a deep breath.
“He was so annoying! He would never do what I told him and he was always getting into trouble and I would have to drag him out of it and it was so…” She made a strangling motion with her hands. “Like I got him a job, at my workplace, and he of course got fired on day one. Not, get this, not for sleeping with one of my coworkers in the printing room but because he gave her all his work to do.”
Pete laughs and then so does Kara
“Like seriously. I…”
She starts to cry.
“He was so… sweet. And he was… he tried. He was awful when we first met and then he, he changed. He was hopeless at it sometimes but he kept trying and he made me laugh as much as he drove me crazy and I just… I loved him. I really loved him. And then I had to send him away because he was a Daxamite, the Prince of the Daxamites! Which he didn’t tell me! No, he kept that a secret so when they demanded his return I thought he was going to his execution or something so I…”
Cut away to Alex and the DEO desperately trying to find where Kara is to save her. They’re all stressing out. Alex most of all. J’onn being the best space dad reassuring Alex and promising her they’ll find her eventually. Winn desperately trying to use some advanced modelling to work out her flight path and it not really working which frustrates Alex. Maybe he’s trying to trace her radiation signature but because she’s blown out her powers it’s not really working so they’re trying to find her phone and using advanced hacking into satellites. Lot’s of ultra technical advanced stuff and none of it’s working. (Maybe have a side thing of instead of trying to do something technical the best idea would be to actually get out there in force and manually look becuse the damage to the cliff is pretty obvious.)
Most of the episode is Kara just talking with Pete. Firstly about her relationship with Mon-el and her unresolved feelings and grief at losing him and the fears she has about where he’s going to end up since she sent him away. Maybe a few small connections to her trauma from seeing her planet explodeand being stuck in the Phantom zone.
Then she asks about why he’s down there alone against all cave diving rules. Turns out the guy is there because he did this cave with his little brother years ago. It goes really deep and there’s a few water sections but when you get to the end there’s this amazing hidden spot with rock carvings or something. On their climb his brother panicked when they got down near the bottom where it’s really dark and there's water.
“And I got… short with him and he-” Pete cleared his throat. “He made a mistake and he died. I uh… I know it wasn’t really my fault but… I still think about all the ways I could have saved him, you know. Even though I logically know I did all I could. I got him out of the water and did CPR and I tried and it… I did everything right but… Do you ever have a moment where even though you did everything you could, more than anyone would have asked of you, when you nearly die yourself trying to save them and they still…”
“Yes,” Kara said softly.
Pete looked at her and nodded.
“Yeah, I guess you do.”
They’re quiet for a minute.
“I came out today to get something, his, his watch. It’s a dumb thing. A kid watch really with Snoopy on it for God’s sake. But he loved it because it was a gift from me. The first gift I gave him actually. We were… he’s my step brother. We didn’t get along at first. Classic step family issues. I thought he was trying to muscle in on my space with my dad and I didn’t want anyone replacing my mum and… well I was an idiot. when we were kids”
He sighed heavily and looked at her again.
“One day after school I was running late when I went to get my bike and I saw him getting his butt kicked by one of my friends and well... no one picks on my brother but me.”
Kara laughed softly.
“So I jump in started beating up my friend then a teacher came along because of all the noise. We all got in a lot of trouble until I managed to con this teacher into thinking we’d all had an accident on our bikes and well… I think she just pretended she believed us because we were all spouting the same story and it was late in the afternoon. But my brother’s watch got damaged and he was so weird about it at the time. He kept going on about how he would be late for all his music lessons without it so I dragged him into the first store I found with watches and bought him a cheap one just to shut him up. Then he never took it off.”
Pete smiled softly clearly lost in some memory. He let out a laugh.
“He showered with one hand up for four years because the damn thing wasn’t waterproof. I called him an idiot everytime I saw him do it but he always smiled back insisting it was his most prized possession. Proof his dumb jock brother did care.”
Pete fell silent for a moment.
“I just… the watch wasn’t on his body when they got him out. It’s um… it’s gotta be down there and I wanted to see if I could get it back. This isn’t my first time trying but it’s in the water, well I think it is. I wanted- I wanted to give it back to Mum. But she um… she died last year and I- I know it’s stupid. I know it’s just a watch and it doesn’t really matter. But I… Just finding it I’m sure it’ll give me… closure or something.”
Kara nodded.
She talks about something she had on Krypton, maybe the spy beacon with her aunt and how much it would mean to be able to have that again. We could get some nice closure discussion here about her feelings from the end of S01.
Kara breaks down crying again apologising to Pete and saying how she shouldn’t have been so wrapped up in her own issues that she let herself blow out her powers. If she hadn’t then she’d have been able to rescue him within minutes and… none of this would have happened if she’d just been better.
“Superman never has this problem. He always saves everyone!” she yelled frustrated.
Pete put his hand on her arm.
“Hey, no he doesn’t. No one can, not even superheroes. It’s not your job to save everyone Supergirl. You gotta put your own oxygen on first before you help others.” (if there's some cave diving saying that's similar just switch it out for that here)
Kara looked at him.
“But you’re going to die… and I- I can’t save you.”
Pete shrugged.
“That was going to happen anyway. You might not be able to save me because you blew out your powers but…” He gave her a very gentle smile. “Now I won’t die cold and alone in a dark cave. I’ll have someone here. Someone who will be able to tell my wife what happened to me, and where to find my body so she can bury me. Someone who will be able to tell her I love her and that I’m sorry for being such a stubborn fool and not listening to her.”
Pete’s fading a bit. Kara cries a bit.
“But I’m a hero, I’m supposed to save you!” she said.
He smiles at her.
“You don’t need to save me,” he whispered. “Just stay until the end.”
Then they hear voices in the distance. They both look up as powerful torches cut through the darkness above them.
“Pete!” someone calls. “Pete Davis! Are you able to respond? Your wife said to tell you you’re in big trouble!”
Pete laughed and looked at Kara.
“He’s down here!” she yelled.
Pete smiles at Kara.
“You know, you’re not the only hero around here Supergirl. Sometimes us humans manage to save each other.”
Kara laughed and hugged him as a rope was dropped down and a man in rescue gear dropped down with them.
“Hi- Supergirl!”
She gave him an awkward smile.
“Hi, I uh, kinda blew out my powers and crash landed here…”
“And she still came to help me,” Pete muttered. "Kept me from freezing to death before you got here."
The rescue guy laughs and then smiles at Kara.
“Even powerless you’re is still saving someone.”
Kara smiles back and awkwardly shrugs.
“I guess so.”
Pete smiles at her and then there’s more search and rescue guys coming down. They’re looking at the big rock and Kara says if they can let her use a radio she can get someone to help with that.
“Superman?”
“I know someone a bit more local.”
J’onn arrives (as Martian Manhunter) and lifts the rock so the rescue team can get Pete out and onto a stretcher medical personnel already working on him.
Kara says something to J’onn and he nods.
Then we see Pete in an ambulance and Kara comes over and holds out a watch (covered in grime but we can see Snoopy on it). Pete takes it and holds it close.
“Thank you,” he said. “For… for coming when you did. I was starting to lose hope.”
“I think I should be the one thanking you, for the reminder,” she replied.
“Reminder of what?”
“Of what this symbol means.”
She taps the symbol on her chest.
“Superhero?”
“No, El Mayarah. Stronger together. I had kind of forgotten that meant I didn’t have to do everything alone.”
Pete nods they smile at each other for a moment then we hear Alex racing over.
“Supergirl!”
“Alex!”
We get a lovely emotional Danvers sisters hug. Then Alex telling Kara off and threatening her for pulling a stunt like that and she’s going to be under the sunlamps the moment they get back and she better not complain about it because after the night she’s put her through…
Camera backs up showing Kara cowering slightly as Alex gives her hell for the stress she’s experienced. Kara nodding and the ambulance doors closing as Pete smiles at Kara.
(And as a little continuation progression thing)
At the start of the next episode when she’s going int to work or something as a little visual of her moving on a bit we see her phone screen is of her and Alex or, because I am supercorp trash, her and Lena.

supercorp 59 and 60! together or separate!!
59. A height difference and 60. Sitting in their lap, from this post
“Have you ever done blowbacks?”
“No…?”
Lena raises an eyebrow from her windowsill perch; one knee bent in front of her creating a perfect peak, the other hanging down, toe barely grazing the threadbare dorm carpet.
A joint hangs loosely between her fingers with well practiced ease (practiced, because Kara’s learned nothing Lena Luthor does is careless). “It’s when someone takes a long hit of a joint and exhales it into someone else’s mouth.”
“I knew that.” She absolutely did not. In fact, the breadth and depth of what Kara doesn’t know has grown exponentially since arriving at college and it has nothing to do with academics. Every day since she arrived on campus, unbelievably only three weeks prior, her roommate has managed to open her eyes to something new.
Kara’s learned ‘Beer before liquor never sicker’, that Three of a Kind beats Two Pair, and that for some reason being called ‘Darling’ has a way of making her knees weak. “Do all Engineering students act like this?” Kara asked once, holding the flashlight while Lena picked the stairwell lock leading to the roof. “Only the fun ones,” was the reply, along with a wry smile that said Trouble was still well on its way.
She is giving Kara the same look now. Lena exhales slowly, smoke curling from her nostrils like a satisfied dragon, billowing over her cheshire grin. Smoking is objectively terrible for you, but god there is something so unbelievably sexy about it. And Lena, in her tight black jeans and combat boots, in her threadbare Metallica tank top and her oversized flannel, is not making it any less so. “Wanna try it?”
If Kara weren’t already sitting ramrod straight in her deeply un-ergonomic chair, she would be now. “Try it?”
Her voice cracks over both syllables somehow and she can tell she’s blushing, but Lena’s smile is soft and kind, without a lick of judgment. “You don’t have to, just a thought.”
It’s not manipulative- Kara would know. Alex took her on her fair share of Snipe Hunts during her youth, back in their one-horse hometown- she knows when she’s being coerced. Still, it’s almost scary how quickly she hears herself say, “Okay”, before it’s even a conscious decision.
“Cool.” Lena swings her foot down, little legs dangling a second before she hops to the floor.
Despite the now unobstructed breeze coming in, Kara suddenly feels hot. “So, uh, how do we do this?”
“Well first,” Lena says, stepping over an errant pile of textbooks as she heads Kara’s way. “You have to get really close.”
“How clo- OH!” And suddenly Lena Luthor is sitting in her lap, straddling her.
In Kara’s lap. Straddling her.
Kara shifts a bit, repositioning her legs, hands coming instinctively to Lena’s hips to steady her- which is a problem because now her hands are on Lena’s hips. “Sorry, I-”
“-Shh,” and how can someone shush in such a gentle, kind way. Kara stops talking. Though that might have more to do with her new view. Her roommate, normally good 4 or 5 inches shorter than her, is now a nose taller, staring right into her soul.
“The next step,” she says, voice textured like sharkskin. “Is to open your mouth.”
Kara does so, resisting the urge to say ‘ah’. Lena laughs and the vibration under her hands, the solid weight on her thighs, has Kara resisting a LOT of urges actually.
“Less ‘dentist’, more ‘reserved epiphany’, Darling,” Lena smirks, bedroom eyes sparkling despite the haze.
“Ohhh,” and Kara laughs too, realizing she just naturally made the point.
“Exactly. And now,” Lena shimmies closer, thighs squeezing Kara’s side and how did they end up this way again? “Step three.”
Lena sparks the joint, closing her eyes and taking a drag long enough for Kara to actually realize she’s staring.
No amount of time would prepare for what happens next. Lena’s eyes flutter open, she inches forward, lips a breath away from Kara’s, and exhales.
Kara’s grown accustomed to the smell of marijuana in their room, and also to the delightful combination of shampoo, bodywash, and a hint of perfume that lingers in their bathroom after Lena’s leaves for class. What she is NOT used to is the heady, warm mix of both, swirling on hot breath, breathed directly into her mouth.
So yes, it’s more gasp than inhalation on Kara’s part but it does the trick, the light fog of smoke hitting her lungs and seeping back out a moment later.
Lena waits, holding her position a breath away as hazy dilated eyes search for something neither of them are quite sure of. Kara’s never used drugs before, doesn’t really plan to again, but is still fairly certain the lightheadedness is less the marijuana and more about every single inch of Lena’s body that’s pressed against her, around her.
“Did you like that?”
“Yeah,” Kara tries to swallow, mouth desert-dry. “S-smooth.”
Lena grins. “I like to think so.” She taps the tip of Kara’s nose lazily with her pointer finger before dismounting and crossing their space back to her window sill.
Kara takes advantage of her roommate’s turned back to try and regain some composure, but it’s futile.
“I’m going to go to the Quad,” she says, stamping out her joint in the ‘Bartlet for America’ mug on her bedside table. “The Astronomy club is putting on a presentation- I hear you can see Venus really well tonight. Wanna come?”
Kara glances at her bedside clock. 11:43 pm. She has an 8am Economics Lecture tomorrow, and a 10am Physics lab, plus another million reasons that’s a terrible idea.
On the other hand, there’s Lena: Tank top slightly askew, the red strap of her bra a beautiful gash of color against pale skin.
“Okay,” Kara hears herself say.
Lena grins that same grin, like Knight takes Rook, and Kara knows her evening of new experiences has only just begun.

Supercorp + teasing for the intimacy ask please?
An anon asked for "19. Backscratches and 25. Falling asleep in their arms" so I'm combining it with this one :)
Camping is a disaster. Even by Lena’s standards. They forgot the cooler with the food somehow, their scenic hike took them through what turned out to be a field of poison oak, and their tent has a hole in it apparently. The latter wouldn’t be such a bit problem, if it didn’t start pouring.
Five minutes of chaotically breaking down camp and throwing stuff in the bed of the truck, until they can finally slide into the cab. The front bench seat is littered with fast food wrappers from the drive up and Lena sweeps them onto the floor in one cat-like swipe.
Rain falls angry on the tin roof, and cascading down the windows. The world beyond is blurry, and getting worse as windows fog as well.
“I’m so sorry Lena,” Kara says for maybe the millionth time today, and honestly is more annoying than assuaging at this point.
“It’s fine.” It’s not. She’s itchy in places she didn’t even know she had, bordering on hangry, and exhausted to her core.
This was Kara’s idea, one that Lena put off for months until finally succumbing to so now on top of everything, she feels like her misery is disappointing Kara’s vision for the weekend as well.
“Hey, I found this when we were grabbing stuff,” Kara holds out a half eaten granola bar. “If you’re hungry.”
Lena is about to ask ‘found it where’ but is too hungry to care. She breaks the half in half, giving Kara the other quarter.
They crunch silently for a few minutes. It’s like eating barely flavored gravel and the texture scrapes the inside of her mouth- the only place on her body that DOESN’T itch.
“We can play a game,” Kara offers.
“Like what?”
Kara draws a hashtag in the fogged windshield. “Tic Tac Toe?”
“No thanks,” Lena sighs. Yeah, she’s being a bit of a grouch, but it’s just… she was kind of looking forward to the camping experience as well. There was so much build up- excited talk of s'mores by the fire and stargazing, of warm mugs of coffee in their shared tent in the morning. Those had been the selling points in the end, romantic adjacent activities with a woman whom romance could only be adjacent with it seems. “I just want to go to sleep, so we can wake up in the morning. That is, if I can ever stop itching.”
“I can help with that.”
Lena looks up, hopeful. “You have calamine lotion and you’re only telling me now?”
“Well not calamine per-say,” she scratches the back of her neck awkward. “I was thinking I could use my freeze breath on you.”
Nia once sent her a meme of a lady with equations floating around her head, and that’s exactly how Lena feel she looks right now, as her brain tries to compute. Poison Ivy All Over her Skin would need Minus Clothing before adding Freeze Breath in order to equal Relief. Minus clothing. “Um…”
“Sorry, if that’s, I mean…” Kara is blushing now, having just done the math herself at least.
“No, I’m just, worried about being… cold.”
“Oh.” Kara blinks. “Well, I figured we were going to end up spooning anyway. I mean, we’ll be more comfortable laying than sitting up to sleep. I, I mean I can keep you warm.”
It’s deeply, deeply illogical. Taking off her clothes, so Kara can use freeze breath on her skin, and then spoon her for warmth? “Okay.”
“Okay?” Kara is as shocked as Lena is at that one.
“I’m too friggin itchy to care,” Lena turns away as she says it, as she takes off her damp shirt, sweatshirt, afraid Kara will be able to see the lie all over her face. When she turns back, she realizes she won’t have to worry about Kara seeing it, because her friend’s gaze is rigidly fixed on Lena’s well filled sports bra.
“Sorry,” and that blush deepens.
Maybe adjacent isn’t too far off after all.
“So how do we-”
“Maybe scoot closer so-”
They both stop, Lena letting out a nervous laugh. “Okay.” She moves closer, curling one leg up on the seat so she can turn to Kara properly. “Do your worst.”
Lena closes her eyes, still afraid what they may betray. This turns out to be wise, because when that breathe of cool air hits her skin, she lets out a honest to god whimper.
Kara is nothing, if not thorough. Icy breath meanders back and forth, over and around every bared inch of skin. The path it takes is tortuous though, like a cool finger tracing her collar bones, down her sternum, criss-crossing her sides, and along the outsides of her arms. At some point Lena shivers and yup, her nipples are hard now.
Lena coughs, “Maybe that’s enough?”
She opens her eyes and Kara’s face is BEAT RED at this point. “Yeah. Um, better?”
“Yes actually.” Though any heat her irritated skin felt has traveled south pooling in places rather inconvenient.
“Good. Then maybe we should go to sleep. You know, so morning will come faster?”
The word choice, holy shit. Lena presses her legs together a bit harder. “We don’t have to… I mean I would be perfectly fine just sitting…”
“You don’t want to?”
Lena frowns. “I didn’t say that.”
“Well?” Kara opens her arms, scooches down and positions her back to the driver’s side door. “Climb aboard.”
This requires some maneuvering. Lena shifts closer, Kara lays more flat, Lena has to CLIMB OVER and ON TOP of her…
Unsure if this is really advisable, Lena holds a half plank, hands on either side of Kara’s head, knees between Kara’s thighs. “Are you sure you-” her elbow hits the horn, the righteous HONK startling her and she falls, full weight on top of Kara.
“OOF.”
Lena wants to say more, to finish her thought, but Kara’s arms encircle her stroking her bare back. It’s answer enough, but the little “I’m sure,” whispered in Lena’s ear seals it. She gives a little shiver, Kara’s arms only firming up their grip. “I got you.”
“Yes,” Lena breathes, finally letting herself relax, melt into her SuperMattress. “You do.”
Maybe camping isn’t so bad after all.

narratively I am a fan of romances that don’t ever actually become romances
I don’t mean in an aromantic life partner way, I mean romantic tension that is never resolved or acted upon for whatever reason but by the end it’s clear that both characters experienced the love of their lives without ever acknowledging it as such. but they know. they know.

Hey, can I request supercorp for #14 for the prompt thing. If you still doing it that is. I hope you have a good day, and remember to drink some water :)
It is a well known fact that Lena Luthor has an alcohol problem. In fact, even Lena herself knows it's a problem. One she should probably give up.
She started drinking at the tender age of seventeen, when Andrea had snuck some tequila back from her father's chalet in the Swiss Alps.
Lena didn't like tequila.
Lex had given her a taste of Scotch one winters break at the age of nineteen. Her father drank scotch. She recalled a distant memory of a glass shattering at her mother's head.
Lillian had given her a glass of Scotch at her father's funeral and it burned it’s way down her throat. As had the pain of the loss of a parent.
Lena learned that the burn of the scotch helped burn away the pain of her days. First it had been the pain of Lex, then of her work days at L-Corp, the slanderous titles the media portrayed of her.
But a drink she never thought she would learn to love was Kara's hot chocolate.
The introduction came when Lena had first became friends with Kara. Kara, the bubbly excited, reporter that had asked to have a movie night last minute on a Thursday.
"Please, Lena, I wouldn't ask if I know you wouldn't love it," Kara begged down the phone. Lena sighed, staring at the prototype drawings in front of her.
"I don't know, I have so much work to do," Lena admitted. It wasn't a lie. It was a lot. She had a lot of approvals to go through, double and triple checking things worked.
“Pleeeeaaaasssseeee,” Kara whined, and Lena could practically hear the pout she had only witnessed a handful of times.
“Alright,” Lena conceded, “I’ll leave right now,” Lena said. If she could leave and get back quickly, then she could get through a large amount more before three am.
Lena didn’t make it back to the office,
She didn’t leave Kara’s. First, it was The Guardian, then An Officer and a Gentlemen, then after much arguing over whether it was appropriate to watch a Christmas film outside of the festive season or not, The Holiday.
“Oh, you know what would go great with this?” Kara asked as she paused halfway through the opening credits and bounced from her position in the couch. Lena braced herself on the arm as the blanket she was wrapped under was thrown in her face. Now, changed from her dress into Kara’s sweats and oversized jumper hanging from her shoulders. The cold of Kara’s apartment nipped at her arm and she curled deeper under the blanket as she watched Kara pull jars and mugs from cupboards.
“It’s the best,” Kara said, practically jumping up and down like a child. Five minutes later, Kara returned with the most obscene drink Lena had ever seen. The sickly chocolaty smell hit her nose and made her stomach turn.
“Kara, I appreciate it but I really don’t like hot chocolate, sorry I should have told you,” Lena apologised. She felt shaky with nerves, she didn’t want to hurt Kara’s feelings after all.
But what was worse, that truly pained her, was the horrified look on Kara’s face.
“You... Don’t like hot chocolate?” Kara asked slowly, as if her brain hadn’t quite caught up with Lena’s words.
“I’m so sorry, I should have told you-”
Lena stopped mid apology as she witnessed Kara shake her head before sipping from Lena’s mug after a sip from her own.
“Did you just drink from both mugs?” Lena asked, completely perplexed.
“More for me,” Kara shrugged with a grin that put Lena more at ease than she thought it could.
Kara didn’t make Lena hot chocolate again, not when they had weekly movie nights, or when Lena started coming to game night, or even when Lena moved into Kara’s apartment after the whole ‘disowned’ thing. It took approximately four years after Alex got married, sitting in Alex’s living room against Kara, before Lena took another sip of Kara’s hot chocolate.
“Excuse me?” Esme asked, standing directly in front of Kara and Lena, small hands on hips.
“I just don’t like it,” Lena tried to justify. All eyes were on her when Esme discussed favourite beverages. Lena had been told under no circumstances by Kelly previously that she could say scotch.
“But everyone likes it,” Nia chipped, a deep scowl decorating her face. “Even Brainy likes it,” it was said with such conviction that, that was it decided.
Lena shook her head.
“But you like Kara’s,” Alex said with a wave of her hand, like that was obvious, but Lena glanced back at her girlfriend, who blushed. Because in four years of dating, six of being best friends, Lena hadn’t once taken a sip of Kara’s favourite drink.
There were gasps of shock when Lena admitted she hadn’t. It took a lot of convincing, mainly from Kara, to move the topic on, but Lena could still feel the questioning gaze and until they were back in Kara’s apartment that night, Lena watched as Kara made her usual nightly routine, a mug of hot chocolate and a pot of tea for Lena. She watched her boil the milk with her laser vision. She could be so lazy some times, Lena thought. Then there was the adding of the powder and then the whipped cream topped with marshmallows. The beverage always looked like it was an extravagant affair for a late night drink, but as Lena watched Kara, she watched as the stress of Kara’s week slowly seeped from her shoulders.
She waited until Kara set the mugs down and turned to the television to decide what late night show to watch when Lena took the mug. She inhaled the sickly sweet scent that often repulsed her and pushed past it. With a tentative sip, her taste buds exploded in the bursting flavour of the cream and rich chocolate.
“You know, that’s mine,” Kara asked, and Lena turned to find her girlfriend staring at her with an extremely unimpressed look.
“I thought I should try it,” Lena shrugged in her defense.
“And you don’t like it,” Kara said slowly, reaching for the mug.
“I may want to retract that statement.”
Kara’s brows dipped. Her words were slow and borderline childish. “But it’s my hot chocolate.”
“And I like it,” Lena shrugged, “just like I like you,” Lena laughed as she kissed her cheek.
It wasn’t the last time Lena snuck sips of the hot beverage. She found it comforted her on tough nights, or nights where the nightmares were just too much. It helped her when Kara was in danger or they just needed a night to be children again. It helped their daughter when the first of her terrors crept into her dreams. The sickly beverage Lena had once detested comforted her when nothing else could. Just as a blonde superhero had always been there for her.

Also, what would have happened if Lena was arrested for what she admitted to on the stand regarding Non Nocere? It just occurred to me that it would be cool if she was all mopey and semi-innocent in prison, a pariah even among inmates, until a single inmate sits with her in the commissary for the first time.
Lena looks up and sees a familiar blonde woman regarding her with a steady gaze. Lena blinks in surprise. "Eve?"
Except it's not Eve. It's Hope, still in control of Eve's body and serving penance for Lena's thwarted attempt to use Myriad.
Which means that Lena is partially happy to have an ally inside with her, but more so guilty for what she did to Eve and the fact she let someone else take the fall for her own misguided plans.

21, 27, or 30 for the prompt thingy :) I can’t choose 😩 I love them all! Supercorp, if you couldn’t already guess lol.
Sorry this one took so long, I tried to get them all in!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It's a rare sight. One that Lena has only seen a handful of times. The way Kara's shoulders sag as she slowly takes the takeout from the carrier bag makes Lena pause in the doorway. It's not like Kara to be slow when it's potstickers and pizza. Her favourite food as she had reminded Lena at lunch that day.
"Hey you," Lena greets, moving from Kara's bedroom into the main section of her apartment.
"Hey," Kara mutters as she plates Lena's food. She doesn't look up another sign that something was up with the tall Kryptonian.
"Is everything ok?" Lena asks softly, as she reaches Kara's slightly hunched back.
"Yeah, it'll be ok," Kara says, as she leans heavily on the counter.
Lena hasn't seen Kara look quite this defeated since Alex's wedding and that was a tumultuous time for Kara Zor El. She had been two people and then Kara had become just Kara, not Kara Danvers the reporter or Supergirl the Girl of Steel. It had taken weeks of Kara finding herself, settling into the new popularity of Kara Zor El. It had first occurred when they had been at lunch. Nothing special the same café they had frequented since the beginning of their friendship. At first, Lena had thought it was her, drawing the stares which was normal to Lena until a young girl had tentatively stepped up to their table with a photo of Supergirl in all her red and blue glory. Kara had blushed and with a look of astonishment signed the paper. Only for another young girl to step up, then another, and another after that. Kara had been overwhelmed when it didn't just occur at Noonans but then at the pizza place, and again at the Chinese. Quickly Kara Zor El was so heavily under the watchful eye of National City, not just as Supergirl, but as Kara, the Editor in Chief of Catco, the girlfriend of Lena Luthor.
But none of the encounters or slanderous articles compared to how Kara looked in that moment. Hunched over the counter, her brow drawn into the worried crinkle that gave her away in every moment where she was upset or concerned. Lena makes her way closer to Kara, slipping her hand up the well muscled back of Kara Zor El and she can hear the soft steady heartbeat that beats under her finger tips.
Thump-Thump, Thump- Thump.
Slow, steady and strong. Lena knew it was normally the reverse, that her heartbeat soothed Kara in her darkest moments, but it was a secret of Lena's that when Kara pulled her close and Lena pressed her ear against Kara's sternum and the sound of the rhythmic heartbeat it would soothe her on the most stressful days. Just as Lena's soothed Kara. With her hand in the centre of Kara's back, right between her shoulder blades, Lena could feel the inner strength of Kara, but her face looks defeated.
Lena steps closer, slipping her arms around Kara's waist, pressing her ear between Kara's shoulders and she stood there. Holding her close. Kara's arms wrapped around Lena's as she stood leaning back into Lena's touch. Lena doesn't ask, she doesn't need to know. She just wants to hold Kara close and give her a small semblance of the security she so frequently provides Lena. Kara stands like that, leaning against Lena and Lena just listens to the silence. The only thing breaking it was the repetitive and soothing sounds of Kara's heartbeat against her ear.
"It was Miss Grant," Kara says after several silent moments.
It takes Lena a moment to register Kara's words, "Cat?"
Lena pulls back slightly to watch Kara nod, white teeth biting into glossed lips.
"What happened?" Lena asks, her brows drawing together. Kara gave a half hearted shrug, looking down at her feet.
"I- I wasn't very good," Kara mutters, her eyes refusing to look up.
"Whatever happened won't be the end of the world, Kara."
Kara turns with a heavy sigh, running a hand through her hair while Lena's hands settle on her girlfriends hips.
"It was pretty bad," Kara admits as she folds her arms.
"Unless you reported something wrong Kara I doubt it could be the bad," Lena says, pulling back to look up into worried blue eyes. Kara doesn't even look at her, she looks away, her jaw clenching and unclenching as she works around the words in her head.
"I- I broke a guys arm," Kara whispers, and Lena's frowns deepens. That doesn't sound like Kara.
"What happened?" Lena asks, taking Kara's hands in her own winding their fingers together.
"He was just there all day," Kara burst and Lena almost takes a step back from the emotional 180. "He's new, he just wouldn't leave me alone," Kara complains and Lena waits because Kara wouldn't break a mans arm because he was irritating. Lena would. Not Kara. "He just kept being there in my space and no doing his job. So, I-I told him to get on and do it."
Kara pulls her hand from Lena's to gesture her point and Lena gently takes the gesturing palm because Kara has a habit to forget her strength and break her dining room table. This was the fourth since Lena had moved in.
"Anyway, I told him and he just wouldn't listen, Lee. Nothing I said got through. I tried everything, I even got Nia involved and-and then Miss Grant showed up."
"Oh," the word slips from Lena's lips and Kara nods chewing her lip. Cat had taken to doing surprise visits to Catco when Kara had been least expecting them, which turned Kara into a bubbling mess.
"Once Miss Grant saw him doing nothing she obviously said something."
"Of course," Lena muses, she wasn't always fond of Cats tactics but they did yield results.
"Well, he did do some work, until he didn't and came to 'chat' again," Kara says with added air quotes.
"What's 'chat'?" Lena asks, her brows dipping.
"He would come over and just be friendly but then well he tried touch my shoulder and I brushed it off," Kara shrugs.
"I don't see how that could result in a broken arm?" Lena asks rather dubiously.
"Well, I moved and he fell." Kara explains rather cryptically. Lena arches a brow waiting for her girlfriend to elaborate. "Onto Miss Grant."
"Kara," Lena's trying really hard not to laugh. In fact she was biting her lip and covering her mouth. "What did Cat do? What did she say?"
"She went crazy, of course," Kara burst with wide terrified eyes. "She started screaming and shouting and she kicked him making him fall which he then landed on the coffee table and then-"
"Kara, breathe," Lena urges as she steps into Kara's space and soothes her frantic gesturing.
"This is it, Lena, this is how I really get fired."
"Cat isn't going to fire you," Lena laughs, pushing blonde hair from Kara’s face. "It was an accident."
"I hired him."
"I hired Jess who tried to kill me. It isn't the end of the world, Kara we all make bad hires."
"He was being creepy, he kept wanting me to lift things," Kara curls her nose as she looks away.
"I mean, I understand the desire-"
"Lena!"

Crisis Redo Part 23
"It was Lex," Lena says, easing herself carefully into her chair in the library. Kara thankfully refrains from helping her, instead keeping herself busy by bringing in the tea tray. Lena watches her pour the first cup, and takes it when it's handed to her.
Kara doesn't seem surprised by the news-- likely, it only confirms her suspicions. Her features remain solemn as she focuses on preparing her own cup, taking the time to choose the right course of action.
When she sits back in her chair, blowing carefully--needlessly-- across her steaming cup, Kara levels a heavy gaze at Lena.
"What are we going to do about it?"
Before Lena can answer, her mom appears in the doorway. "May I join you?"
Kara looks to Lena for the answer. Lena hesitates.
"We're discussing some things you... may not want to hear," Lena says carefully.
Elizabeth gives her daughter a pointed look, then takes a seat in the nearest stuffed armchair with an air of finality. "Your burdens are mine, sweetheart."
With a nod, Lena accepts her mother's presence. Still, it falls to Kara to break the ensuing silence. "Now that we know it was him," she asks, "what do you want to do?"
Lena shrugs one shoulder. "It doesn't really feel like there's anything we can do. I thought... I thought it was done. But clearly..."
Kara understands Lena's despondence, her resignation in the face of the brother she killed and saw ressurected. Not only resurrected, but installing himself at the pinnacle of a world of his own design.
There's no way to strike first, none that would keep them out prison. Even Supergirl wouldn't survive the backlash of killing a man so revered by this world. Which leaves them all little choice but to wait.
Well. Kara waits.
Lena and Elizabeth prepare.
Sure in her daughter's certainty that another attempt from Lex is a matter of when not if, Lizzie creates sachets of twigs and sprigs of herbs. Kara witnesses her digging along the fence late one night, sinking each one into the ground with a murmured spell that causes the packet to glow briefly before being covered with dirt.
Lena works with her stones, her quartzes and citrines and tigers eyes, cupping each one in her hands while whispering words even Kara cannot comprehend. Though she doesn't understand, Kara can feel the unexpected weight when she picks one up to investigate, feel the prickle of energy against her palm.
It takes Kara a few days to notice the oddly striped stone dangling from a black string around Lena's neck. When she asks, Lena takes it gently in her fingers with a quiet smile.
"The first stone my mother ever gave me," she explains in a soft voice. "Tiger's eye... for courage, when I was nervous about the first day of school."
"It's beautiful," Kara breathes, now understanding how precious it must be.
Lena nods. "It's been with me the longest-- has the most of me in it. I think... I think I'll need it, when the time comes."
---
Their wait ends abruptly thirteen days later when Lillian's car screeches to a halt outside. In those thirteen days, Kara has refused to leave Willow Creek, abiding by the same warning Lillian gave Lena and Elizabeth to not leave the property.
Again, Lillian passes through the gate unmolested by the wards buried by Lizzie in the night. Lena meets her on the porch, with her mother and Kara crowding in behind her.
"He's coming," Lillian delivers curtly, without explanation of how Lex must have escaped his prison cell. In the end, it doesn't matter.
Lena takes a breath in, but her features don't betray any surprise she might feel that it's her brother coming and not another goon. "How long do we have?"
"Hours," Lillian replies, "if that."
The chill is damp in the air around them, and it follows them into the house where they all huddle around the kitchen table. Elizabeth makes them tea, but not a single sip is taken. The mugs only serve to warm their hands as they sit in solemn silence.
In what seems like minutes, Kara hears the sound of an approaching SUV, running too smoothly to belong to anyone in Willow Creek.
"He's here," she murmurs quietly. "Maybe five minutes out."
The air thickens around them as those minutes count down, until gravel crunches under wheels outside and car doors slam shut. Kara and Lillian both stand as one, intent on meeting the enemy first, but Lizzie shakes her head.
"Wait," she warns.
Before Kara has a chance to wonder why, the world outside flashes a bright white through the windows, blinding in its intensity. Even Kara sees spots when she blinks, and she can hear a deluge of swearing from out front.
When the light fades a moment later, Lena and Lizzie finally rise, ready to meet the man who wants Lena dead.
Lena leads the way outside with both of her mothers close behind, leaving Kara uncharacteristically bringing up the rear. Upon emerging onto the porch, they find that the damp chill of before has picked up into a brewing storm-- strong gusts of wind plucks at their clothes and hair, and thunder rumbles faintly in the distance.
Of the five figures standing just beyond the fence, only Lex stands still, the others blinking and rubbing at their blinded eyes, continuing to curse. It seems Lex was spared the flash by virtue of the sunglasses he wears even under an overcast sky. With a smirk, Lex reaches up and removes his shades, arching a single brow as he gazes up at Lena.
"Hey, sis."
Kara's gaze cuts to Lena, whose silhouette remains stoic despite the thudding of her heart. Her attention flickers away when Lillian reaches into her coat pocket and withdraws a pistol, which makes Lex tsk.
It's Lena who presses the gun down to point at the deck underfoot. When Lillian opens her mouth to protest, Lena shakes her head.
"It won't solve anything," she says simply. "Trust me."
With that, Lena pulls away from them, leaving them on the porch as she descends to navigate the winding path to the fence, coming to a stop just beyond Lex's reach.
"I'd hoped our last confrontation would be the last," Lena says.
Lex's smirk shifts to a dark grin. "Oh, but Lena, you know how I love an encore."
He gestures to the air between them.
"Neat trick," he continues. "I assume I have your... magic to thank for that."
"I'm done, Lex," Lena delivers. Kara sees her hands dip into the pockets of her cardigan, which Kara knows for a fact carries a myriad of the charged crystals Lena had been prepping. "I'm not afraid of you."
Lex stares at her for a long discernible moment. Then his features darken dangerously. "You should be."
In a flash, his arm lifts with gun in hand.
Before Kara can so much as gasp a warning, Lena brings her hand up, palm facing out to interrupt the path of the bullet that explodes from the muzzle of the gun. To Kara's shock, it does-- the bullet fragments in a burst of light, its shards pinging harmlessly away.
In that moment, the air pressure shifts, filling Kara's ears with cotton she has to swallow repeatedly to dislodge. Beyond the boundary of Elizabeth's wards, Lex's features open into shock with unnatural slowness. In fact, even his goons appear to be moving through molasses, like time itself has slowed.
The heavens break open into a deluge of rain as thunder cracks overhead. As Lena's hands lower and spread to each side of her, the very air around her thrumming with power, Kara realizes that the storm is not only upon them-- the storm is Lena herself.
Through the patter of rain and the crack of lightning, Kara hears Lena's voice low in the cacophony, uttering words swiftly and smoothly. The air around her quivers, then starts to glow. Her gaze never once moves from Lex.
As Lena's murmurs continue, the storm intensifies, as does the light around her. Her hands spread to either side, her fingers stretch long and desperate, pulling power from the world around her. The plants bend towards her in answer, the ground rumbles, and the rain comes down thicker than ever. But it's not long until Kara sees Lena begin to shake, her knees and fingers trembling under the strain.
"She can't hold it!" Elizabeth shouts over the storm that continues to rage. Without hesitation she plunges into the rain towards her daughter. To Kara's shock, Lillian is less than a heartbeat behind.
Kara watches as Elizabeth clasps Lena's left hand, clutching it tightly as she spreads her arms to mimic Lena. Lillian takes Lena's right in a white knuckled grip, ignoring the expensive clothes and shoes soon drenched by the driving rain. While Elizabeth's mouth moves to echo Lena's words, Lillian simply hangs on tight. Soon, the glow emanating from Lena spreads to envelop all three of them.
Strengthened by the women beside her, Lena's voice lifts in a crescendo, carrying over the wind and rain.
"So mote it be!"
With a final crack of thunder, the light around Lena dissipates, as does the storm. As quickly as it had arrived, the rain and wind ceases, and the dark clouds clear to reveal a burgeoning twilight. And with it, time seems to resume beyond the fence.
Lex's goons all blink at the abrupt change in weather, then turn as one to their boss. Lex, his shock still carved into his features, stares for a long, silent moment. Then, teetering, he collapses, fainting clean to the ground.
Lena's legs give out a moment later. Her hands still linked with her mothers', she nearly takes them down with her, if it weren't for their quick reaction to turn and catch her as she falls.
Only then does motion return to Kara's limbs. She speeds to help lower Lena to the ground, cradling Lena's head even as she watches from the corner of her eye as Lex's men bundle him up and drag him back to the car. The SUV peels away in a spray of gravel, leaving them to care for Lena alone.
"Lena?" Kara cups Lena's cheek, shocked to feel it so cool against her skin. "Lizzie--?"
"She's all right," Elizabeth assures her. She brushes Lena's other cheek with a finger, then places her free hand against the gentle rise and fall of Lena's chest, as though listening.
A long moment passes before she lifts her head once more to gaze at Kara and Lillian solemnly.
"The spell isn't complete," she informs them. She gazes back down at her daughter. "She's not finished yet."

Kara is not a self-reflective person. It is the one area she and Lena differ in. Lena will pore over books in her efforts to understand herself, her pain, while Kara will make ill-fitted decisions and never bother to find the reason why.
Alex comes out to her unexpectedly. Kara really loves her outfit, feels good in it, and she’s looking forward to walking along the pier with her sister because the sky looks so beautiful and they haven't been able to talk much lately; and then Alex comes out, unexpectedly.
She stutters through it, and Kara doesn't help. Somehow she had never considered it- that Alex could be gay, that Maggie could be gay.
Alex talks about Vicki Donahue, her best friend from highschool. She talks about how she loved sleeping at her house, in her bed. She talks about how she had felt something, and how that something had scared her, and how the next thing she knew she was picking stupid fights, and they had drifted apart, and she hid that something she didn't understand so far deep inside herself that even she couldn't find it.
Kara is not a self-reflective person. The venn diagram of it all never truly forms, and the circles of their truths are two separate entities, never coinciding in the great planes of Kara’s mind. ‘I loved being in her house, sleeping in her bed,’ has nothing to do with the warmth glowing from her chest while watching Lena strip her layers one by one- her makeup, her tight bun, her impeccable dress -and replace them with the softest pyjamas. It has nothing to do with the satisfaction and pride in being the one, the only one, to see her that way, with her armor undone.
Then Jack comes to town, and the cogs in the part of Kara’s mind where she stores anything and everything she’d rather not look at start whirring like an ancient machine finally being put to use.
