If you are not watching Sense8 yet, you need to fix it ASAP
It has:
A lesbian trans woman played by a trans woman, and her black girlfriend (and OMG Freema Agyeman is AMAZING);
A deeply closeted gay Mexican actor, and his amazingly overeducated boyfriend, who at some point starts to live with their “beard”;
A black boy from Nairobi who works his ass off to get medication for his mother. He loves the simple wonders of the world he can suddenly see thanks to the mental connections he has with seven other people;
A well educated woman from India who is also a believer; she believes that faith and science are two different languages describing the same miracle;
A Korean businesswoman with great sense of duty who’s also a star of underground kickboxing (also she loves her dog more than she loves her father and brother and she has a good reason to);
A German safecracker with great daddy issues who will do anything for his childhood best friend;
A white American man with a stubble who’s actually not-boring, non-stereotypical, amazing character with strong moral fiber;
An Icelandic DJ running away from her past who finds courage to face it;
All of those people are suddenly mentally connected and start to help each other and share their experiences; incidentally at first but slowly they’re learning to control it.
It also:
Shows us the importance of using the right pronouns;
Depicts many problems, like poverty, homophobia, transphobia etc. but people are fighting it!
Has people helping each other, questions later, or no questions asked at all;
Tells a story of different backgrounds and cultures;
It’s kinda about finding courage and finding yourself.
Srsly just give it a chance. The first episode can be difficult to watch but the show is great, the connection it shows is amazing. I watched ten episodes in one go, just two more left.
