I can't imagine anything that will simultaneously fuel both the growth of Monarchists, and Royal Assassins, than giving Australians a public holiday when they die.

Vote 1. Green, 2. Labor.
When Labor gets your preferences, they know their bread is being buttered from the left

Two things: state governments are leading the charge on climate action while Fed Liberals ignore it. So it's incredibly important who gets in. That's why I'm campaigning to help @thegreenswa have the balance of power in the Legislative Council and push Labor to act more on climate change. Secondly: The Greens aren't just about climate action! They're a well rounded party whose policies include helping renters. Did you know there's no limit on how much a landlord can increase the rent in one go? And during the current crisis this means tenants are being squeezed or risking homelessness. So hey! We have two key reasons to vote Greens: the future and the present. So get out there WA and vote!

I was originally only going to fill the check boxes and submit. But, having had a few, I decided to fill in the comment box as well. Once i started I couldn't find a place to stop.
I don't expect the Morrison government to keep a record but here it is, for posterity:
Dealing with climate change treats many of the other issues. Not dealing with it fails to.
Strengthening the economy: more jobs would be created through moving to a green energy market, than will be preserved by holding onto coal mining.
Keeping our borders strong and secure:
The pressure on our borders currently due to international political unrest is nothing compared to the displacement of island states in our proximity.
Delivering better health outcomes: climate change models predict a widening of the areas typically affected by equatorial conditions, from malaria to gout.
Taking control of energy prices:
The energy market has repeatedly cried out for certainty on climate policy. Energy producers know that fossil fuels won't be the way we move forward into the future. Providing government support and guidance through this transition will allow energy companies to have the certainty that business requires to restore prices to a reasonable market value.
Busting congestion:
When my families farm falls apart due to lack of rainfall, or a bushfire wiping out trees that take 7yrs before producing, they aren't going to stay in the country. Children of farmers (like myself) don't stay in the country when we know there is no future for regional communities.
Accessible, reliable, communal transport initiatives don't only fight a centralising population, they also reduce carbon output that drives centralising.
Supporting drought affected farmers:
If we had a leg to stand on the on international stage regarding climate, we could pressure countries that aren't pulling their weight on tackling climate change. Even if Australia's own contributions aren't the straw that breaks the camels back of climate change, leading to drought and shifting food bowls; a strong climate policy would at least let us claim the moral high ground.
Protecting our local environment:
You can not protect a local environment without addressing global climate change.
Straws in the ocean are nothing compared to the damage caused to reefs by rising sea temperatures. We should be able to tackle both.
Tackling local crime and drugs:
People start taking drugs to either heighten enjoyment, or escape from reality. If you give people a reality worth living in, it'd help. I don't take elicit substances myself. But 3 bottles of wine; a bottle of vodka; or a carton of beer before bed makes it a lot easier to sleep in a burning world.
Backing rural and regional communities:
I grew up in a small regional community. Thankfully, not one that has yet been hit by drought (though we all know that there is a bushfire coming that will destroy every building in a 50km radius).
I went back to the family farm as a young adult. Not a single person I have spoken with in the last 3 years, involved in agriculture, believed that the climate wasnt changing. Early rains, dropping the sugar levels of fruit every other year. Higher humidity increasing the spread of fungal and bacterial blights. unpredictability making seeding for pasture a crapshoot
I say again: if you can't enter the international stage saying "our people are hurting, and we are doing all we can"
You can't say "it's not our fault, that our people are hurting".
Deal with climate change. Invest in our scientists, in CSIRO.
Make Australia, a country of sun, wind, stable tectonics and an abundance of uranium and thorium, a country that is not only a climate leader, but an energy exporter that can allow our neighbours to do the same.
please.
The Liberals want to hear from us and surprisingly have actually included “climate change” in the list of issues (down the bottom) so let’s spam them with a demand to not be awful and phase out coal. And don’t forget to untick the newsletter subscription box.

“I love me a good cephalopod.”
Researchers aboard the E/V Nautilus got a treat on their first dive in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary when they encountered this Grimpoteuthis octopus!
Grimpoteuthis octopuses are also known as umbrella octopuses or dumbo octopuses – or, as one researcher dubbed this one in the video, “grumpy tooth.” This spooky darling was approximately 60 centimeters, or two feet, long.
Need more grumpy tooth in your life? We’ve got you covered:
Learn more about the expedition on our website, and watch the dives LIVE in real time at nautiluslive.org!
[Video description: A ghostly dumbo octopus swims in the water column. At first the octopus drifts past the camera flapping its wing-like fins. Then it inverts its webbed arms, ballooning out to reveal eight rows of suckers. GIFs are clips from the video.]

"This story was corrected on 10 August to make clear constituents can ask for “nationhood material” but are not entitled to receive them" - amendment at end of article
the government is (as long as the budget allows) going to give me a portrait of the Queen, as it is my - and all other australians - legal right.
For a moment I thought this was some weird nonsense message with no context and then I googled it and holy fuck that’s the actual literal truth. People are actually getting portraits of the Queen???

Further viewing should include the prehensile penises of tapir, dolphins and elephants, as well as the vast number of plants with tendrils that seek out crevasses and support structures.
“tentacle porn” is an incorrect term, they are correctly known as arms, octopuses have no true tentacles whereas squid and cuttlefish have only two true tentacles that do not resemble those commonly featured in your freaky anime nonsense

As I understand it, the feature which determines an arm versus a tentacle in cephalopods is in the distribution of suckers. Cephalopod arms are defined by the presence of suckers along the entire length, while tentacles will only have suckers at the furthest point from the body.
So, if we were to look at what is commonly cited as the earliest presence of “tentacle porn”, The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife, 1814 --The suckers are clearly depicted along the entire length of the appendage, making this “arm porn”. (google it, if you want to see a woman being eaten out by an octopus)
That said, an image search on tumblr for “tentacle porn” without safe search that I just made depicted visible suckers in only 2 of the first 20 images.
I’d recommend recollecting that 4th group of cephalopods, the Nautilus, which has 60+ flesh tendrils, which entirely lack suckers, known as “Cirri”. If we were looking for a cephalopod limb, these seem to be the most analogous limb to what is depicted in a search for “tentacle porn”.
