Well, here’s a little hint of what my drawing will be for Ayato’s 2024 birthday...
Tumblr media
I know it’s a bit serious considering the previous one I made last year 😭 but I’ve never seen Adam-themed fanart here, so... I always wanted to do this one.

06. First Day
Word Count: 1176
Warnings: intent to bite
Contains: Bara has her first day at school and spends lunch with Kanato
Finally, Bara got to attend school once again. Being able to be in a classroom and learn something new… It was something she always enjoyed, even if some subjects bore her.
And even better, she didn’t have to worry about Kanato due to him being a year above her. From what she could see while walking through the first-year hallway, it was only Subaru who was in the same year as her. If he was in her class, she didn’t know yet.

"She would've made such a lovely bride. What a shame she's f*cked in the head..."
Tumblr media
(First time writing. Not proofread. Just for fun. Trigger Warning. Unhealthy relationship.)
The night sky twinkled with stars looking as though it were scattered with hundreds of glittering tiny diamonds. Crickets chirped their nightly song. Bright pink, white and red roses bloomed in their dark bushes engulfed by the darkness of night.
Here, Yui Komori sat on the soft lush grass in the mansion's garden. This peaceful scene was rare for her to experience and only came few and far between for there was always one disturbance or another by the residents of the mansion with whom she was forced to live with.
She hoped that this moment would last for some time since she didn't want to face any of the brothers in the mansion any time soon or deal with the constant pettiness and abuse they dealt her.
The man she was made to pick to be her captor would not hesitate to hurt her even more if she was seen by him as being particularly close with any other inhabitant.
She learnt this well from all her prior experiences with him.
She also needed some time to herself to reflect on all the absurd emotions she had been feeling lately. As of late, she had not been feeling quite like herself. The obvious reason for this was the new lifestyle she had been forced into and the new role she was subject to in this household which she had been forced to adapt to. However that was not all.
Lately she had been feeling complicated feelings for the man that she was given to as a sacrificial bride blood bag. She knew she should be afraid of him and hate him for what he has been doing to her however that was not how she felt lately. Well, not fully at least.
She tried ignoring it at first. Too afraid to know the truth and rather finding it more comfortable to live in denial however she couldn't ignore it anymore. She noticed how lately her heart palpitated with something other than horrified fear when he was near. Lately his blood drinking sessions had left her feeling in pain but also made her heart flutter with butterflies. She had begun noticing how his face was so perfectly sculpted by God, how his hair fell so perfectly over his face, the nearness of him and the feeling of his body when he drank her blood, the times he acted in a manner she could not explain the motive of but left her feeling oddly happy that he had done this odd gesture for her even though he always reminded her she was nothing more than prey.
His inconsistent actions combined with these odd feelings left her feeling so utterly helpless and confused. She wondered what was wrong with her. She knew she shouldn't feel this way but she couldn't stop herself.
Yui huffed with frustration.
In all honesty could she blame herself for wanting some form of kindness from these monsters? Her life was hard enough as it was. She just wanted to feel loved again. She wanted to go back to her old life. Things were so much simpler then. Why was she here? Where was her father? She needed him. How could the church do this to her? She had trusted them. She began to feel so abandoned by everything in her past. How would she survive this?
Yui felt so overwhelmed by all these thoughts and questions. She just wanted to quiet her mind. To go far away from all this. To have peace.
Her heart had lately acted weird as well. She wondered if it was because of the constant anemia. She couldn't quite place the reason why. She knew she was changing in some way. She felt scared...
Right at that moment she heard the sound of footsteps on the grass behind her.
'No. Oh God, please just allow me a few more moments of peace...'
She felt dread course through her veins. She heard his dark voice call her name in a way she had gotten so used to lately. It made her heart flutter. She was f*cked...

What is Leigh Bardugo’s problem with writing women? She can’t seem to write (successfully write) a woman learning about her agency without shaming her in the process. She can’t let her female characters (notably Alina and Genya) find their way in the world and be independent. LB seems to barely be able to have a few female villains! I want an evil girlboss. I like the villains in fiction, I like how they are morally grey. It sucks that the Grishaverse has almost no villains that aren’t men. It does make one wonder… why? Is LB afraid of writing female villains? Shadow and Bone deals (or tries to deal) with complex themes of morality. She tries to show a young woman dealing with greed and attraction to power, but the narrative always seems to shame Alina in a very puritanical way. She must be loyal to one man (Mal, obviously). The Darkling (who seems to often represent sexuality and liberation) is evil and is corrupting our fragile main character.
With Genya, she was repeatedly violated by the King. She had an opportunity to exact her revenge, and she took it. She poisoned him. She stole years off his life. LB writes this in a way that makes it seem like she has committed some great evil. Later, she is obviously made to regret her choices and side again with Alina. Poisoning the King is bad. Getting back at the man who has hurt you time and time again is wrong. But it’s obviously not. Poisoning people is bad, but the story doesn’t seem capable to handle the fact that while poisoning people is bad, so is violating a young girl. The King of course faces no real punishment for his crimes and is sent on his merry way to live in the colonies.
Genya is made to feel bad in Siege and Storm for ever hurting Alina. Alina tells Genya that it was a betrayal that Genya sided with the Darkling. Maybe. But Alina also never acknowledges that this was the way Genya could get her revenge.
It’s another question of why would any Grisha side against the Darkling, but I won’t get into that.
So this brings me back to the question of why does LB not tackle these themes? She introduced these problems, and then she just ignored them. She could of written a wonderful, morally grey book series. Instead though she gives all her female character problems, but then has the characters simply be shamed and feel guilty for ever having these problems. This, at least to me, makes the entire thing look ignorant. Why can’t LB just… write female characters? Why can’t she do that? All these women are just shamed for ever having problems to deal with in the first place. Alina for greed. Genya for revenge. Both of them for daring to take agency and independence.
Sorry if this made little to no sense. Just a rant about LB’s weird writing choices.

VOLTAIRE HIGH
the serie take place at St Jean d’Angely a little rural town near La Rochelle.
the 11 girls came in because there is no enough places at the others high schools, and the others school near Voltaire high are expensive.
*Annick explain that in the 1st episode to Miss Couret.. when they almost to be fired after the accident

Laubrac the foster kid
The public Assistance was created by the French State, consisted principally at the WW2 to help the families to give up their child by the fault of war context, financial problems, or death of the family…
this publication have more detailed informations
The reason why he is hated by some people is because the Assistance’s children are adopted, they don’t have their real parents/families they are considered as : «Batard » which mean a child with no family, at the 20th century’s and before that was a shame to be adopted or coming from The Public Assistance.
Tumblr media
Simone the foreign girl
She is a pied noir and her family too , it mean that her family are french but moved to Alger ( capital of Algeria ) due probably to the french invasion or the Algeria war,
The pieds noirs were hated for multiple reasons but principally they were blamed for the Algeria war who caused the fall of the 4th Republic.
