is there an age limit to join bmcblr? as long as youre 13 and over you should be good! although if youre like 10 why are you watching be more chill in the first place. if you want to play a character there are higher age limits, so be sure to check out the actors FAQs!

can i still join if it's already started? as of right now yes, but it depends on what stage we're at! if the characters have already been cast then obviously you cant audition. if we're already done with the music then you wont be able to join the music department, so on and so forth. however you can join for ensemble whenever you want! feel free to join the server and ask/message me anywhere if you want to be sure

how do i reach you? feel free to shoot me an ask or dm either here or on my own blog @sea-jello! you can also message me on discord if you want youll see me when you join the server

do i have to participate to join the server? not at all! feel free to join just to hang out

can i help manage the project? as of right now not yet! i want to try running it myself first, but if it gets too much down the line i will be asking for department heads and the like! ofc its better if i sorta know you so dont like,, jump in in the middle of the project asking to run a section. join the discord even if its just for me to get to know you!

what version will bmcblr be? we will be doing the 2 river version! the rights for broadway arent out and im not risking copyright any more than i already am (which does mean we dont get loser geek whatever unfortunately). that being said, some SMALL broadway changes will most likely be made to the script

EDIT: so we ended up having to buy the sheet music and only broadway is available (the rights were released a while ago), so we will be doing the broadway version

is it animation or live action? it will be sorta like a rough animatic with little snippets of animation scattered around!

is this legal? who knows lmao. if we do get copyrighted the most that will happen is it gets taken down. if that happens we can separately upload the songs sorta like music videos. thats allowed under fair use

when will the project be finished? i have no idea. could be a year could be longer

where can i watched the finished product? it will most likely be on youtube!

hey you wouldn't happen to have a percussionist, would you ? i just joined your discord server (mika !! is my user) and would love to help out with soundtracks and sheet music! i can play drum kit, classical snare, marimba (though this is arguably my worst instrument), other mallet instruments such as xylophone by extension, and piano so hmu :)

hey! we do have one or two percussionists (or just people who play some of the instruments you mentioned) but you can absolutely spilt the work if youre up for it, and we would love your help with sheet music! im sorry for not getting to you when you joined i had a lot of work these couple days

what does the art team do? as of right now the roles are promo artists, character designers, storyboarders, floor planners, background artists and animators!

promo artists do promo art for our propaganda posts! you may have seen some of them floating around. they dont have to be drawings, it can be any form of media!

character designers design our characters for the rest of the art team to reference. we are currently on this stage and almost done, but some people are doing double, so you can still join to take some work off their hands EDIT: we are done with character designs, so this role is currently closed!

storyboarders will receive the audio from the music dept and/or cast, then sketch out a rough storyboard for what we want our finished product to look like. we will most likely just clean up those storyboards and put out an animatic of sorts for the final product, but if we want to go above and beyond we'll see!

floor planners will plan out what repeated settings look like for the storyboarders, background artists and animators to reference. some repeated settings would be like jeremys room, the auditiorium, the school etc

background artists will take the storyboards/whatever the final product is and fill in the background for each frame. so for example if theres a shelf or something in the background of jeremys room, the storyboarder will vaguely block in a shelf shape, then the background artist will go back and detail that shelf in. this is still a shaky idea, and im not sure if we'll go through with that yet, so we'll see

animators will fully animate specific scenes. some of these scenes would be like the squip song hand choreo and squip enters, dramatic stuff like that. if you have a suggestion for an animated scene, feel free to ask!

we MIGHT have some people specifically for coloring, but the work we're currently looking at looks like a lot already so again we'll see when we get there

is there an age limit? as long as youre okay to join bmcblr (13 or over) then youre alright! HOWEVER there is a HARD 16+ limit for dywh. and probably a little older than 13 for any scene with jeremy with his pants down yk what im talking about

is it too late to join the art team? absolutely not! depending on the progress obviously, if we're done with character designs then you cant do character designs, etc etc. however if we're in the beginnings/middle of a stage and you join in, we can see if anyone's willing to split their work with you!

do i need a portfolio/need to meet certain requirements? nope! any and all are welcome!

what does the music department do? as of right now the roles are sheet music writer and musician!

sheet music writers will rewrite the bought sheet music from west end to broadway! there arent that many changes. multiple people will be working on one song. either theyre assigned to it, or its a free for all where you just continue on where someone left off when you can. you can discuss with the department whether you want to work on something alone, be assigned a specific part, or jump in when you can. currently we are using a collaborative online sheet music writer, so we can see each other's progress and help if we want to/are allowed to. iirc you can upload your work from other websites, so if you dont like the layout of the website we're using or something you can complete your work somewhere else and upload it when youre done

musicians will record themselves playing their instrument and send it off to the editors, who will slap it all together for the actors to sing along to!

is there a limit on the number of musicians able to join? nope! if we have lets say three people who play the guitar the work will be split between them, so there is a chance you wont play every song. if youre the only person with your instrument then yes you will do the whole show

what instruments are needed? i pulled this straight from the ghostlight records website i think but we're flexible with what we need and dont need, so if you have a suggestion feel free to ask!

lil um update weve decided we're probably going to ditch the multiple squip voices idea, at least for the whole show, just cause we're worried about portrayals and harmonizing and if their voices blend well and whatnot. maybe we'll have someone come in occasionally for the effect, but theres just going to be one actor for the squip, like the rest of the characters

speaking of, im putting the understudy/squip voice idea on the backburner for now, so understudies/squip voices wont be announced with the cast list. if we do go ahead with it then we'll see

hi yall idk if there are any auditioners who aren’t in the discord but if youve auditioned for someone but dont think you can participate anymore if you get cast please tell me now, cause if everything goes smoothly we should have cast list out by hopefully end of this week/next week. obviously if someone who did get cast cant do it anymore it might take a little bit longer. if you dont tell me by friday ill assume youre good to participate if you get cast

not yet! we're still gonna do callbacks for a couple more characters but we're almost done

also we still dont have enough people for each character so the character some of yall might get a callback for could be different than what you first auditioned for so. just a heads up
