GLASS YOU
Google Glass is a wearable, voice- and motion-controlled Android device that resembles a pair of eyeglasses and displays information directly in the user's field of vision.
Google Glass offers an augmented reality experience by using visual, audio and location-based inputs to provide relevant information. For example, upon entering an airport, a user could automatically receive flight status information.
When the first version was launched in 2013, consumers immediately voiced their concern of the glasses being an invasion of privacy. Google Glass represented inescapable recording in everyday life. At first, Google attempted to rebrand the glasses as a tool for professionals such as surgeons or factory workers. However, concern remained and Google ceased all work on the Glass project in 2015.

INVADE EVADE
An invasive species can be any kind of living organism—an amphibian (like the cane toad), plant, insect, fish, fungus, bacteria, or even an organism’s seeds or eggs—that is not native to an ecosystem and causes harm. They can harm the environment, the economy, or even human health. Species that grow and reproduce quickly, and spread aggressively, with potential to cause harm, are given the label “invasive.”
An invasive species does not have to come from another country. For example, lake trout are native to the Great Lakes, but are considered to be an invasive species in Yellowstone Lake in Wyoming because they compete with native cutthroat trout for habitat.
How Invasive Species Spread:
ShutterstockInvasive species are primarily spread by human activities, often unintentionally. People, and the goods we use, travel around the world very quickly, and they often carry uninvited species with them. Ships can carry aquatic organisms in their ballast water, while smaller boats may carry them on their propellers. Insects can get into wood, shipping palettes, and crates that are shipped around the world. Some ornamental plants can escape into the wild and become invasive. And some invasive species are intentionally or accidentally released pets. For example, Burmese pythons are becoming a big problem in the Everglades.
TASK IN HAND
Come up with a B-plan involving the usage of any invasive species in India, whether plant or animal so as to run a profitable business while positively effecting Eco systems.

- Marketing strategies

The company’s business model though, was not without issues. Dunzo has reported a net loss of ₹168.9 crore in FY19, an increase of nearly eight times from the loss of ₹21.9 crore in 2017-18. With massive logistical and overhead expenses the company have is crippling the company’s ability to grow and carry out operations. With competition from companies such as Swiggy which already has a established base of customers as well as logistical support, the prospects of Dunzo is looking bleak.

BOON OR BALI
Over tourism is defined “as the excessive growth of visitors leading to overcrowding in areas where residents suffer the consequences of temporary and seasonal tourism peaks, which have enforced permanent changes to their lifestyles, access to amenities and general well-being”. The claim is that over tourism is harming the landscape, damaging beaches, putting infrastructure under enormous strain, and pricing residents out of the property market. It is a hugely complex issue that is often oversimplified.
It can have an impact in multiple ways. The international cruise industry, for example, delivers thousands of passengers daily to destination ports. While comparatively little is returned to communities, cruise activity creates physical and visual pollution.
City residents also bear the cost of tourism growth. As cities transform to cater for tourists, the global travel supply chain prospers. This coincides with increasing property speculation and rising costs of living for local communities. AirBnB, for example, has been accused of reducing housing affordability and displacing residents.
Over Tourism in Bali
Tourism officials agree Bali is in urgent need of better tourism management and infrastructure to support the country’s ambitious tourism targets. Photo: AFPEvery year, millions of tourists flock to Bali to soak up the replenishing natural charms which have made the Indonesian idyll a top global holiday destination. In terms of name recognition, few places come close to the resort island which hit holidaymaking pay dirt decades ago with its rare blend of rustic tranquillity and home comforts. The determination to keep the tourists coming shows no signs of diminishing as the country aims to attract 10 million tourists from China by 2019.
But concerns are mounting that unless something is done to reverse worrying levels of environmental Every year, millions of tourists flock to Bali to soak up the replenishing natural charms which have made the Indonesian idyll a top global holiday destination.
But concerns are mounting that unless something is done to reverse worrying levels of environmental degradation, Bali is in danger of eroding the very foundation on which its tourism success was built. This year, 2 million Chinese people will holiday in Bali, making up a significant and growing section of the expected 15 million total visitors.Their numbers outstripped Australian visitors for the first time this year and, according to the Indonesian tourism ministry, on average they spent US$1,018 per visit. This is a lower average spend than Australians and Europeans but it exceeds that of Singaporeans and Malaysians: US$680 and US$663 respectively.
“Bali has a complete tourism infrastructure and its image is highly ranked among the world’s travellers,” said I Gde Pitana, the deputy minister for international marketing at the country’s tourism ministry.
“Bali sits right at the front of the mind of all tourists, be they Asian, American or European,” he added, saying nearly 5 million of 11.52 million total tourists to Indonesia last year visited Bali.
The influx has prompted a backlash from Bali locals and activists who claim it contributes to a water and waste crisis, as well as an intensifying traffic problem which threatens the tourist experience. Some believe the island needs to adopt a different strategy beyond seeking to continually increase the number of visitors.Lake Buyan, Bali’s second-largest natural reserve of fresh water, dropped by five metres in 2012; and fresh water supplies are increasingly tainted by salt water. Critics claim poor tourism management has deepened the crisis.Official data reveals a single tourist uses 1,785 litres of water per day compared to the 14 used by a local Balinese. Consumption skyrockets to 4,000 litres a day for hotels.
Island activists are waging an ongoing battle against a US$3 billion reclamation project to create artificial islands in Benoa Bay to house a development which includes luxury hotels, a shopping arcade and a theme park. Opponents of the project claim any reclamation of the bay would damage the marine ecosystem and the surrounding residential areas. In 2013, environmental group Conservation International (CI) tried to save the bay with a proposal to convert it into a water conservation site
According to research by CI Indonesia, the Benoa Bay development would cause excessive flooding in low-lying areas and impact Ngurah Rai International Airport and the Dewa Ruci underpass. The developer, Tirta Wahana Bali International, has rejected the concerns. Lengkong, the local activist, said: “The reclamation is an environmental disaster born of capitalism. I can guarantee that if they go ahead with the project our airport will be two metres deep under water.”
Waste is another mounting problem for Bali. In the south of the island alone – where the famous Kuta Beach is located – solid waste exceeds 240 tonnes every day. During rainy season, rubbish from the streams and rivers washes up on the shore, bringing with it major health and environmental risks, as well as a deterrent for future tourist arrivals.A 2015 study by researchers from the University of Georgia ranked Indonesia as the world’s second-worst marine polluter behind China, with 3.2 million tonnes of plastic waste found in Indonesian waters.
Tourism officials agree Bali is in urgent need of better tourism management and infrastructure to support the country’s ambitious tourism targets.
Task in hand –
You are the tourism official of Bali. You need to come up with a plan to curb the problem of tourism and Bali.
- General Strategies to tackle over tourism.
- Strategies to tackle over tourism in Bali.
- Phase wise Implementation Plan.
- Plan to tackle the current environmental problems
- Strategies to Convince the locals.

ABSOLUTE POLLUTE
The economy of Delhi is the 13th largest among states and union territories of India. The nominal GSDP of the NCT of Delhi for 2017-18 was estimated at ₹6.86 lakh crore (US$99 billion) recording an annual growth of 8.1%. Growth rate in 2014-15 was 9.2%.In 2017-18, the tertiary sector contributed 85% of Delhi's GSDP followed by the secondary and primary sectors at 12% and 3% respectively. The services sector recorded an annual growth of 7.3%.
Delhi is the largest commercial center in northern India. As of 2016, recent estimates of the economy of the urban area of Delhi have ranged from $167 to $369 billion (PPP metro GDP) ranking it either the most or second-most productive metro area of India.
Overpopulation and the ensuing overuse of scarce resources such as water put heavy pressure on the environment. The city suffers from air pollution caused by road dust and industry, with comparatively smaller contributions from unclean engines in transportation, especially diesel-powered city buses and trucks, and 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers with two-stroke engines. Another known cause of pollution is slow moving traffic due to pedestrians crossing the road just about anywhere. Noise pollution comes mainly from motorcycle and automobile traffic. Water pollution and a lack of solid waste treatment facilities have caused serious damage to the river on whose banks Delhi grew, the Yamuna. Besides human and environmental damage, pollution has caused economic damage as well; Delhi may have lost the competition to host the 2014 Asian Games because of its poor environment. Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) is empowered to perform the functions to control pollution in capital.
Delhi has Infinite number of problems regardless of which no effective and significant step has been taken yet.
Task in hand.
You are the chief minister of Delhi.
You have all the rights to introduce new policies and alter help the people to sustain in the capital.
Come up with strategies and policies for a minimum of 5 problems by prioritizing them on your own. It’s not about how many but how effectively.
Feasibility is the key.

BREXIT EXIT!!
Brexit is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Following a referendum held on 23 June 2016 in which 51.9 percent of those voting supported leaving the EU, the Government invoked Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union, starting a two-year process which was due to conclude with the UK’s exit on 29 March 2019—a deadline which has since been extended to the end 2019.
Withdrawal from the EU has been advocated by both left-wing and right-wing Eurosceptics, while pro-Europeanists, who also span the political spectrum, have advocated continued membership and maintaining the customs union and single market.
The growth of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) in the early 2010s and the influence of the cross-party People’s Pledge campaign have been described as influential in bringing about a referendum. The Conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron, pledged during the campaign for the 2015 general election to hold a new referendum—a promise which he fulfilled in 2016 following pressure from the Eurosceptic wing of his party. Cameron, who had campaigned to remain, resigned after the result and was succeeded by Theresa May, his former Home Secretary. She called a snap general election less than a year later but lost her overall majority.
On 29 March 2017, the Government of the United Kingdom invoked Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. Theresa May announced the government’s intention not to seek permanent membership of the European single market or the EU customs union after leaving the EU and promised to repeal the European Communities Act of 1972 and incorporate existing European Union law into UK domestic law. Negotiations with the EU officially started in June 2017. In November 2018, the Draft Withdrawal Agreement, negotiated between the UK Government and the EU, was published. The House of Commons voted against the agreement by a margin of 432 to 202 (the largest parliamentary defeat in history for a sitting UK government) on 15 January 2019, and again on 12 March with a margin of 391 to 242 against the agreement. On 14 March 2019, the House of Commons voted for the Prime Minister, Theresa May, to ask the EU for such an extension of the period allowed for the negotiation. Members from across the House of Commons rejected the agreement, with the leadership of the Labour Party stating in the House of Commons that any deal must maintain a customs union and single market, and with a large percentage of its members rejecting the Irish backstop as it is currently drafted in the EU withdrawal agreement. Opponents of the EU Withdrawal Agreement cited concerns that the agreement as drafted could plunge Northern Ireland into a conflict and spark a return of The Troubles as a result of Brexit.
The broad consensus among economists is that Brexit will likely reduce the UK’s real per capita income in the medium term and long term, and that the Brexit referendum itself damaged the economy. Studies on effects since the referendum show a reduction in GDP, trade and investment, as well as household losses from increased inflation. Brexit is likely to reduce immigration from European Economic Area (EEA) countries to the UK, and poses challenges for UK higher education and academic research. As of May 2019, the size of the “divorce bill"—the UK’s inheritance of existing EU trade agreements—and relations with Ireland and other EU member states remains uncertain. The precise impact on the UK depends on whether the process will be a "hard” or “soft” Brexit.
There are many issues and situations to be considered by the perspective of the EU as well in regard to Brexit going through.
TASK IN HAND
Come up with a bill that outlines the policy’s that Brexit will entail from the perspective assigned to you (Britain or EU).
Policies regarding the following areas must be considered, ensure inclusion of these but don’t limit yourself to the following areas of the situation.
- Manufacturing
- Technology
- Telecommunications
- Immigration
- Finance
- Banking
- Stock and money market
- Tourism
- Real estate
- Currency
- Citizenship
- Laws (You may choose 3 laws and explain how they will remain or change post Brexit in your perspective of Britain or EU)
Keep in mind your positions and who you represent, research on what is non negotiable for your region and what they are flexible on.
Research and deliver.
DELIVERABLES
A bill outlining the entire policy structure of not less than 40 pages from your assigned perspective (Britain or EU).
You may, among yourselves decide which post you hold and what designation you have.
REMEMBER THIS IS THE TASK THAT CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING!!!
Play your game well and REMEMBER, you are a team and must look to the best interest of your team. But you will be marked individually as well as, as a team, so keep that in mind.
And a final reminder, in case of formating or any basic errors, your team will not be allowed to present.
SUBMISSION
Hardcopy submission at 4:00pm, 27/11/2019.
Warm regards,
Team Best Manager.

MEDIEVAL MELANCHOLY
The Saviors and the Kriegsmen have had a bitter rivalry lasting generations. Upon the Death of Charles Kriegsmen, his successor Gerald Kriegsmen began annexation of nearby lands by force - torturing and tormenting villages and farmlands, enslaving the women and killing the men. Engulfed in anger, Gerald's ambition has no end.
Upon the cold blooded murder of Jensen, the 3rd of the Saviors Clan at the hands of Gerald. King Marcellus of the Saviors declared war upon the Kriegs.
Knowing the aggressive and ambitious attitude of the Kriegs, Marcellus decided to march alongside his army to meet the Kriegs in battle outside their walls. Knowing that any delay would lead to their army growing in men and power making the Saviors more vulnerable to defeat. The King summoned his army and gave his speech
"He brought us pain and misery
He killed our tribes killed our creed
He took our game for his own need
We will fight him hard we'll fight him well
Out on the plains we'll give him hell
Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes
Galloping hard on the plains
We'll chase the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game
Murder for freedom, the stab in the back
Women and children are a cowards attack"
Marcellus and his men arrive at dawn, make camp several kilometres from the Kriegsland Walls. The King sends a scout to see whether the Kriegs cover within their walls or were ready to meet them in battle.
The Witch predicts the weather and the scout returns with sweat pouring down his face and fear in his eyes...
"Over double our men and quadruple our horses, ready in shiny armour - swords in hand, Gerald at front.... Also, they have the high ground my King! "

I did Nazi That Coming
Luxottica. If it’s a name you haven’t heard, it’s probably because they don’t want you to.
Starting off as a tiny Italian glasses company, Luxottica caught the 1980s fever (see Wall Street) and started buying every glasses-related company it could get its hands on, as well as talking pretty much every fashion designer into letting them make their sunglasses line.
Luxottica Group S.p.A. is an Italian eyewear company and the world’s largest company in the eyewear industry. It is based in Milan, Italy.
As a vertically integrated company, Luxottica designs, manufactures, distributes and retails its eyewear brands, including LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Apex by Sunglass Hut, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, Eyemed vision care plan, and Glasses.com. Its best known brands are Ray-Ban, Persol, and Oakley.
Luxottica also makes sunglasses and prescription frames for designer brands such as Chanel, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Miu Miu, DKNY, and Tory Burch.
In January 2017, Luxottica announced a merger with Essilor to be completed by mid-2017, resulting in combined market capitalization of approximately €46 billion. The combined entity will command more than one quarter of global value sales of eyewear. In March 2018, the European Commission unconditionally approved the merger of Essilor and Luxottica – making it one of the greatest monopolies in the world.
So, as you can already put together, Luxottica controls every element in the sunglasses market, from production to retail.
This is of course why they can charge you $200 for a piece of plastic with two hinges – because most of the “competition” isn’t actually competing with them.
This effectively means that the market stands closed for new entrants. Many have tried, and all have failed.
The beauty of it all, is that they keep under covers the fact that most major eyewear brands are merely just subsidiaries of it. Moreover, they ensure that in their marketing and retail efforts, the products are distinguished as belonging to two very different brands.
But, if we know history well, it takes a giant to beat one. Monopolies have been established and broken down throughout human existence and its time this one was shattered too.
Your task is to:
Found a new eyewear company with no affiliation whatsoever to Luxottica
Come up with new product(s) for your eyewear company
Provide adequate reasons and research behind the choosing of the products
Devise comprehensive marketing plans for your product(s). Make sure to include:
Conventional Strategies
Unconventional Strategies
Differentiation Strategies
Branding of product(s)
Logo of company
Include any other details of the marketing mix as you see fit.
·Identify/create suppliers and retailers for your company’s product(s)
Chronologically and comprehensively map out your plan to compete and eventually take down Luxottica.
Strategies to ensure that you retain your position in the market (The market should be a duopoly at best)
Devise a growth plan for when you have established yourself in the market
Detailed financials for the entire project. Make sure to include:
Revenue Model
Primary sources of income
Marketing Expenses
HR Expenses
Production Expenses
Breakeven Analysis
Any other expense breakups you deem fit
Deliverables:
A report of no less than 15 pages
A PPT of no less than 4 slides
A tangible product(s) model(s)
No less than 2 Print Ads
Deadline: Before Lunch submit the hard copy in block 4
