No because explain to me why there are 4,000 Dracula movies and shows and musicals about him being a sexy monster man in love hating God for nature, while in the original he is pretty much the Plague, decay and the embodiment of a Zombie apocalypse in his desire to become a great old War Lord once again, which is why he became a vampire in the first place, with 0 interest in romance. All while Carmilla gets depicted as a purely greedy, gluttonous, ambitious succubus (who sometimes even disgusts Dracula) when she's the vampire who in her original story craves to be loved and falls in love and was forced to become a monster before her 20th birthday and is in deep introspection about death and her nature and her fate to never be able to have an eternal lover without giving cruelty and selfishness because that's all she has ever known as is capable of. All while being the actual sexy sexual awakening for young sheltered women.

Careful someone is going to go "but we already have many adaptations of Carmilla", when 97% of them have nothing to do with Carmilla. In most 20th century adaptations she's a sexy MILF who lusts on men as well or even falls in love with men while antagonistic to women. "It's horror" and the horror is assertive women with fangs. In the few 21st century ones she's either ambiguously gay or ambiguously vampiric. I don't mean that you need to follow the book faithfully especially given how painfully rushed the ending is, but come on.

I think the 2019 one has its merits especially since the bar is on the floor but it's missing the point on some themes like making a governess be the dominating sheltering homophobic parent instead of the father, and also not a fan of them making "Lara" 15

no deadass, i just feel like we have sooo many genres of dracula and like Carmilla came first i want a beautiful and cinematic Carmilla movie smh. theres so many ways filmmakers can take creative liberties, like Coppolas dracula, and still make it a beautiful film that people love.
