In January 2008 the local community, fishermen & women, boat Captains, engineers including consultants to DARPA - thousands of people - came together to stop the beloved Lynnhaven Boat Ramp & Beach Facility from becoming *the* toilet for unlimited public & private dredge spoils from the entire Lynnhaven Watershed. This group became known as the LBR Guard Dogs.
They were successful in stopping the Boat Ramp Closing.
