Shout out Kyle Hendricks for going 6 shut-out innings against the Yankees, striking out nine in the process. Plus, the Angels just made the Yankees go scoreless in back to back games. Good for them.

I love stories that are about like the inherent intimacy of going through a really intense experience with someone, and it’s less common but I think it can be interesting too if the character otherwise doesn’t really like that person or share nearly anything in common with them but still feels tied to them in a certain way because they’re the only other person who’ll ever really understand and share that part of them

You can be talking to someone and she'll be like, "Oh I made a silly mistake. Women don't deserve voting rights teehee." And you'll be like, "What." And she'll be like, "Oh I'm sorry! That must sound so bad out of context. No it's this Tiktok meme where, if you're a girl and you do something dumb, you say 'Women don't deserve voting rights teehee.'"
And you'll be like, "That sounds bad." And she'll be like, "No no. It's totally not that bad. It's just a meme. Men say it too. Like if a man does something silly he'll be like, 'I am like those women who do not deserve to vote.'" And you'll be like, "Does that make it better?" And she'll be like, "Well there was one guy who tried to make 'Men shouldn't vote' a popular meme. But it never caught on and also he got yelled at a lot."
And then you drop it there because like, you're harshing the vibe.

honestly being around people who are not uncomfortable with you having feelings and desires makes the people who were uncomfortable so much worse in retrospect

Books on Libby have started disappearing.
My friend pointed it out first, and then I started noticing too. Why would books that multiple libraries definitely, 100% had digital access to a couple of months/weeks/days ago disappear?
Amazon is getting exclusive rights to them.
Ebooks that the public library once had digital copies of are now only available through Amazon. Audible boasts on their covers about Audible-exclusive audiobooks that did not used to be Audible-exclusive. Entire series and collections are disappearing overnight.
Keep your eyes on the privatization of media and your libraries.

I wish someone would hurry up and invent a game where I help a woman who is permanently dripping mud get a makeover and leave her shitty boyfriend, or perhaps an army game where I lead my troops through basic arithmetic functions such as +10 and x7

today at work a coworker warned me that my patient’s owner let us know her cat is homophobic, meaning he tends to attack gay people violently on sight, which I thought was a joke. but that cat saw me and may have been the angriest cat I’ve ever worked with and DID in fact bite me through Kevlar gloves because he hated me so much
