I really wish they'd have picked one ending for the new life is strange. I can't imagine any way where they could give you a choice and still honour both endings. I feel depending what you chose, Max life shoupd be so fundermentally different, so that you could not properly put both in one game without changing half the scenes.

Honestly, if they just give us one scene where chloe calls or one conversation about her death I'll be very disappointed. They should have just picked one, marketed it as the universe where she made the according decision (not necessarily the "canon" one) and then properly go into the ways the events of the first game changed things.

I just can't imagine that they'll be able to properly honour the first game this way but I sure hope I'll be positively surprised.
