Irshalgad trek
I woke up at 4:30 am, excited and looking forward to the trek even though i was supposed to leave at 6am. I got everything ready, packed up my breakfast( cheese paratha) and commenced my travel. The train journey took about 1 hour 20minutes and i arrived at panvel, where we all were supposed to meet. There were a lot of people who weren't on time, so we had to wait for them. That delayed the trek by an hour.
We went to have breakfast at a small cheap hotel near the bus depot. The food was amazing(poha) , and i had one of the best coffee I've ever had.
From there, after breakfast, we started to the base of the hill in 3 taxis. There were 25 of us, 3 taxis and 3 bikes. It took an hour to reach there.
The trek finally started at 10am, it was cloudy.
The climb to the first checkpoint was fairly easy and we reached there in 2 hours after crossing a small village.

It started becoming very cloudy from that point, and slowly we started walking in the clouds and it started raining slowly.
Reaching a point we were given a choice- stay or go on ahead. As it was going to be a difficult climb from here.

A few opted to stay back, but most of us, including me, proceeded with high enthusiasm.
In a turn of events, i ended up leading the trail and being the first one to climb. It was a little difficult but i managed to climb it with ease. At one point i came across a rough patch of rocks, which i found challenging. After overcoming it(and almost getting bitten by a snake if it had bit me, I would've lost my grip) and i finally reached the peak. Where i sat down and waited for the others to climb.

There wasn't much of a view from up there as it was completely engulfed in clouds. We stayed for an hour and begun our descent.
We needed a rope to go down the difficult rough patch. While waiting for my turn a big rock( as big as a head) fell on my shoulder and missed my head by inches. I was surprisingly unharmed.
While descending it started to rain, so i had to tread down carefully to avoid slipping. Again i ended up in front of everyone. Reaching the checkpoint the rain had increased and it had started to get windy. I found out my poncho is useless in windy situations so i put it back in my bag and enjoyed the rain.
The wind was so fast that the rain that hit you, hurt, as if you were being pelted by tiny little stones.
The descent became interesting in the rain. Me and another person reached down before everyone and had to wait a while for them to reach us.
We got into the taxis again, reached panvel station and departed on our separate ways. It was quite an interesting and amazing experience.
