What's In My Bag
Many of you have asked about what I'm using on a day to day basis. Each item that I use, each item that takes up precious space in my bag, is chosen for it's quality and ability to do the job I ask of it. So here it is, a comprehensive list of what's in my bag.
(Cue the James Bond theme here for effect just for fun.)
Camera Body & Lenses
Canon 5D Mark III - Camera Body w/BG-E11 Grip
Canon 70-200mm f2.8L II IS USM Zoom Lens
Canon 85mm f1.2L II USM Prime Lens
Canon 100mm f2.8L IS USM Macro Prime Lens
Canon 24-105mm f4.0L IS USM Zoom Lens
Speedlights, Triggers, Batteries
Two Canon 600EX-RT Speedlights (4 AA Eneloop Batteries/Unit)
Battery Pack for Speedlight (8 AA Eneloop Batteries)
Canon ST-E3-RT Radio Transmitter for Speedlights (2 AA Eneloop Batteries)
Five x 4 Packs of spare AA Eneloop Batteries (20 batteries)
Sto-Fen OM-ET Omni-Bounce diffuser
Memory
CF & SD Cards in a ThinkTank Photo Pixel Pocket Rocket wallet
EyeFi SD Card (for wireless tether to iPad)
Other Essentials
Black Rapid Camera Strap
Giottos Rocket Air Blaster
Lens Pen
Rogue Gel Kit (for Speedlights)
Streamlight Stylus Pro Flashlight (a solid, reliable pen light)
Ink Pen
Gerber Multi-Tool (pliers, knife, screw drivers, etc)
iPad w/keyboard case
Nerf Dart*
ALL of this and some odds n' ends that might hitch a ride in my bag travel in a ThinkTank Photo 'Airport International V2' roller bag. If you asked me what ONE thing I couldn't live without (given that I have a camera and lens to work with), it would be my ThinkTank bag.
*My two year old added this to my bag some time ago. He thinks I need it, so it stays in the bag and travels with me.
As the James Bond theme fades, you're thinking, "Man that's got to be heavy." Yes, it's obnoxiously heavy. That's why it's in a premium roller bag. I can handle nearly any situation with this setup. I may add lights, stands, maybe some Pocket Wizards, diffusion panels or whatever. Not it this bag though. This one's FULL.

We announced on Facebook a few days ago that we have signed a lease for studio space in the Hardester's Plaza in Hidden Valley Lake, CA. Today we began working on the tear-out phase. Pulled down shelves, pulled out a kitchenette from a back room, removed years worth of other people's abandon telephone and network cabling. And, we got the walls a fair bit closer to being ready to paint. It was a good day's work. Back at it tomorrow afternoon. More tear out and plenty more masking. A good ol' fashioned sweeping is in order too!

Stalked my kids with my camera this weekend. Just love to capture these fleeting moments. Here my 7 y/o Jack tells my 20 y/o Bobby, "I mustache you a question." with a pool noodle over his mouth. Bobby was obviously floored.
