a nurodivergnet polycule (I think when I saw the movie in 84 I had never seen a group of people who were like me on screen)
I watched Buckaroo Banzai and thought Buckaroo and Perfect Tommy would make a great couple, of course New Jersey would work too! lol
Discovered there are exactly 3 stories with Buckaroo and Tommy in AO3, althought they are giving each other longing looks. ;-)
This falls now under very, very rare slash, althought I'm sure there were lots of privately written stories, because this was once a crazy cult movie.

I feel like Perfect Tommy may have a whole ass suit in this place in his closet.

I wanted a neon plaid, lol, so I made Neon Plaid.
And a little love for quotes from 'The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension' is always fun.

Fast bursts of progress and long interruptions, but I have completed part of my 1066 project using the 25mm Ral Partha "1200 AD" miniature range from the 1970s-80s. The first wave are 3 stands of 6 cavalry, 3 stands of 12 foot, and a separate mounted leader.
Some of these were painted in the 80s or early 90s and mostly left as-is with very little touch-up. The rest I painted recently to match. I have a 2nd command set that will be mounted on round bases, so I can paint William and Odo mounted on black Friesians as suggested by the Bayeux Tapestry instead of the white I chose decades ago.
For the first time I'm trying something mentioned by Ken of the Yarkshire Gamer podcast. I laid out all the bases I planned to use at the beginning of the project and took a photo for reference:

Now that a batch of stands are completed, I recreated the overview picture for a clear measure of the progress:

That's halfway to a usable army in many rules, or a quarter of the way to finishing all the variations that will shift them from Hastings to Sicily or the First Crusade, and possibly allow for fielding as 2 armies or a single double-size force.
The 120x60mm rectangular bases are laser-cut 3mm plywood by TRE Games, highly recommended. Maybe using pairs of 60x60s or 60x40s would be more flexible, but so far I'm loving the big 120s.

Tommy would be good with anybody, but now I feel like I should write Buckaroo/Tommy

Every time I would see Clancy Brown in a movie, I would rest my hand on my heart. My late husband had never seen Buckaroo Banzai, he just took it as a mystery of our marriage

A recent drawing of mine just because 💛
[Caption: a realistic digital painting of Perfect Tommy from the 1984 film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai. Tommy is portrayed by white actor Lewis Smith. Portrait is from the waist up in three-quarter profile. Tommy is wearing a white satiny 80s jacket with an oversized flipped up collar over a silver sequined scarf. He's holding his jacket lapel with one hand while his other hand is tucked inside, seemingly over his heart. His bottle platinum blond hair is slicked back 50s style. A cascade of graphic glowing pink hearts hovers over his left shoulder, bathing his hair and jacket in pink light. The background is soft bright blue.]

So everything has been a awful for a year. I am trying to keep my mom's house while she is in a nursing home but I make next to nothing I was sort of making it but a branch fell from a tree on my property and landed on my neighbor's car. They are being cool about it but I need to get the dead tree down. I still haven't recovered from the loss of my husband and immediately became my mother's care taker. I have just been spiraling. I need some help. And so does this guy
