students from belgrade who walked to novi sad for two days arrived in the city last night. in novi sad, as well as in all the places they passed through, they were welcomed as liberators. thousands of locals prepared food and drinks for them, greeting them with applause and cheers. in novi sad, they were met by several thousand people who rolled out a red carpet and set off fireworks, and all the students were awarded medals. yesterday, news arrived that the serbian students had been nominated for the nobel peace prize. today, at three o'clock, three major bridges in novi sad will be blocked, with the liberty bridge set to remain blocked for 24 hours. after those 24 hours, students and citizens will decide whether to continue the blockade.
