ooc;; hey everybody! this school year has been the most nuts thing ever, and we just started teaching in person but... I’d like to bring Marko back, so if we had a thread before, or you’re interest in plotting now, hit that heart and I’ll shoot you a message!

currently in a meeting with our superintendent to decide the fate of our district this week. she literally told parents ‘with this many students, there is no way we can socially distance safely on the busses or in the classroom’ and 70% of parents answered (via survey) that they don’t care and they’d prefer to send them in anyway. this whole thing is truly interesting and terrifying.

so...apologies if I am a little slow as we move into the school year. if you know a teacher or a parent, give them a pat. it’s weird out here.

Marko nudged him back. Hard. and rolled off of the couch they were both sat on to scoop rolling paper and a lighter off the broken table in front of them. “Chill out, man,” he said with a grin. Marko’s favourite past time was probably getting Paul all riled up and then lecturing him on being calm. “You can’t play that ‘smash or pass’ game with somebody you’re already smashing. It doesn’t work like that.” 

He reached out to open up a small tin and carefully crushed the rest of a bud between his fingers. “Alright, I got it. I’ll ask you people - you answer. Smash or pass. Uh...” Marko chewed at his bottom lip, realizing he couldn’t think of someone they mutually knew that Paul wasn’t sleeping with. “...Star?”

Now he knew they were testing each other. Daniel could tell right away with the look at the last question. Marko was one of the undead and Daniel may have walked himself right into a trap if he wasn’t careful. As a sign of authority he adjusted the necklace with the vile of Armand’s blood in better view. The blood a deep crimson but also with a small glow to it, didn’t even look real when examined up close. His deep eyes met Marko’s as he toyed with the chain hoping for the kid to get the message that he was marked and taken and not to be messed with.

“Isn’t there a vampire problem everywhere?” He tried to choose his words carefully now as all the haird on his forearm stood up. “Vampires all over the goddamn world. California, New Orleans, Rome…” he took a half an inch step backward. “But none quiet as old as the ones I know.”

If Marko didn’t know better, he thought that gesture could have been a threat. That was impossible though. No way this kid was really threatening him. If he knew what Marko was - and it was clear at this point he probably did - there was no way he thought showing off his brand was going to scare him. 

That comment though...that comment was definitely a threat. "That right?” Marko asked, feigning interest. This human was telling him he had a whole hoard of ancient vampires willing to come to his rescue. Marko had never met another vampire as old as Max, but he knew for sure that his ‘father’ wouldn’t be thrilled hearing there’s another gang roaming around.

“What sort of...thing you got going on with them, anyway?” He had never thought of humans as anything more than a snack. Except for Paul - but he changed the ‘human’ aspect pretty quickly in that situation. If this ‘old’ vampire that Daniel was bragging about was so fond of him, then why hadn’t he turned the kid yet?
