most of the gems in the belt of deltora do really useful shit that helps lief get out of trouble, but the opal is just kind of an asshole for some reason. every time it shows lief a glimpse of the future he just sees himself lost in a terrifying wasteland and assumes it means he's gonna die as soon as they get to the next place. why doesn't that thing ever show him that he's going to win when he gets to the next place? or literally anything helpful? being able to see the future should give him some kind of advantage, but the opal is just like "nope. look at this scary creature you're gonna have to fight. fuck you."

Love the concept of Bad Thing that provides protection from Even Worse Thing. This villan has dibs on killing me someday, so they’re not going to let anyone else do it. Person has a permanent illness that’s super hostile to any other type of infection. Lawful evil tyrant absolutely PISSED at chaotic evil invader killing their subjects. Person has been cursed by the gods but the curse supersedes all other hexes and magical ills. This shit absolutely charges my batteries.

wish we got more of doom hanging out with lindal and steven (and nevets) aka big boi squad as i fondly call them

I finished bone point light! I'm deciding against stuffing it and making a base because it stands up fine on its own and itll be harder to change the shape of it if it's sealed off

BUT if I keep it open that means I can have a look at putting a light inside! It might still be aiming too high, but whatever I'm having fun. This is what it looks like with a reading light inside
