Walking closer, Bonnie shook her head in disagreement, pulling her cardigan tighter around her. “That doesn’t matter. Trying is all that counts. Besides, Skye’s the best audience you could ask for. She’s learning, too. You could do it together.” She smiled encouragingly, pausing for a moment. “Want some tea? It always clears my head."
Malia looked up at Bonnie and smiled, finding comfort in a pack member’s presence. Support was easier to accept, coming from them. “I could try, but I’m not that good at this yet. I might make mistakes.”

Bonnie smiled fondly as she watched their newest pack member, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall. “You’re sounding great, you know. That’s one of my favourites. Maybe you could read it to Skye sometime?”
Adjusting back to human life was becoming increasingly difficult. Malia was always frustrated, and although her speech was fine, apparently her social cues were completely off. She continued to feel cold without her fur coat, and she had no idea how to read, putting her leagues behind her school peers. If she’d known how hard it would be living like this after eight years in her wolf form, she would have told herself never to travel towards Alexandria, regardless of how thankful she was for the Crescent pack's kindness. Glancing down at a book a teacher called Clara had given her, her eyebrows pressed together, muttering to herself as she attempted to learn. “To… die will be an… aw - awfull - fully? Awfullee big --”

The pack had been travelling on the road long enough to know to fall quiet if one of them smelt or heard anything. Keeping speech, and volume, to a minimum, Bonnie shook her head at Eddie's question, concentrating as hard as she could to pinpoint the scent. "Not biters," she murmured. That was a significant relief. The horrors they'd endured having to face them with children in tow had been harrowing. Luckily, they'd been able to explain most of the terror away during the days following. Even Skye had begun to sleep through most nights.
Whatever the smell was, it was certainly a being of some kind. An animal or creature. Alive, and moving. Friend or foe was hard to capture at that distance, but Bonnie could pick up on the familiar mustiness of fur. Although, it didn't seem to be a werewolf. She frowned. "It's alone, but it's moving. You and me?" She turned toward Jackson this time, assuming they'd be following their usual plan. The pair scoped out the danger, the rest stayed behind and stayed quiet. Being werewolves, they were at far less risk than their human counterparts. Plus, someone had to protect the kids.
Although they’d all agreed upon the decision to move to Alexandria, finding it the safest and most realistic option, Eddie was slowly beginning to fill up with doubt. The longer the journey took, the more dangerous it became, the outskirts filled with creatures he’d not been trained to deal with, ones that posed a very real threat to his son. The pack kept eachother safe, and Eddie kept his emotions repressed, but his smiles were faker by the minute, his concern for Christopher threatening to overwhelm him. His child became exhausted far quicker than the others, and whilst Eddie and Jackson had carried him the majority of the way, Eddie knew he’d spend himself up if they didn’t make progress soon.
He sat away from the laughter, considering his options, when Bonnie spoke up. “What kind of smell?” Noticing the way her arm tightened around Skye, Eddie did the same, walking over to position himself in front of Chris. “We can’t handle another group of biters.”

Somewhere amongst the haze of the high and the throbbing pain in her limbs, Bonnie recognised a fellow werewolf had been the one to approach her. But she needed to actually look at the male before realising she didn't, in fact, know him. Bonnie tilted her head in interest, not having expected the approach, and not so soon to turning. But his explanation made sense and her features instantly softened, guard dropping altogether.
He seemed genuine regardless, but his scent and heartbeat spoke for him. He was an omega, a young one, and he was afraid. She wondered when he'd been turned, and how. She smiled. "Of course you can. I'm not the alpha, as you might've guessed, but I know Jack would agree." Their morals had always been aligned. They'd never turn anyone away, and especially not when they'd asked for help. "This is our first time taking it, too. You're not alone." Not trusting she had the strength to get to her feet, she patted the spot beside her in offer instead. "I'm Bonnie. What's your name, honey?"
Rafael was on his way to the outskirts when the scent of another werewolf caught his nose, and he immediately felt compelled into stopping. Tonight wouldn’t be his first turn, but it would be the first time he’d been under the influence of the cure, and despite having the effects explained to him, he was riddled with uncertainty. Up until now, he’d spent every full moon chained to a tree in fear of hurting Landon. It would be his first time running free as a wolf, and he didn’t trust himself any more than he trusted the leadership here. Anger pressed at him even now, along with anxiety, reminding him just how new he was to lycanthropy. He was grateful, at least, that there were others here with the same affliction. People who could understand him. That was ultimately the reasoning behind him and Landon choosing to reside in Alexandria in the first place, so he decided to take advantage of that now, slowly approaching the woman. “No, I’m sorry. I uh — I don’t want to put this on a total stranger, but… I think I’m gonna’ need some help out there tonight. Someone to watch my back. I don’t wanna hurt anybody. This is all so new to me, I can’t control it, and I don’t trust the cure they made me take. Not yet. Would it be alright if I joined you? Please.”
