Nico Parisi - Caress (Bonzai Progressive)

Back from his last release on BP with "Reborn" alongside Manu Riga, Nico Parisi delivers "Caress" which comes with no less than five fantastic remixes. Nico has been very busy lately with his own productions and a stack of remixes, he also has a hectic DJ schedule with many gigs across Belgium. Recently he featured in the launch of a new concept night "INSANE" which is a product of DJunkee and Bonzai progressive. He will also feature at this year's Bonzai Retro event in November with the crème de la crème of Belgian DJ's.

The Original mix is a strong, solid slice of progressive house vibes. Snappy kicks and a subtle melodic sequence provide the intro with rising pads soon coming through. Percussions slowly build and form into a cool flowing rhythm while an early and intense build up leads us into a full on prog monster. Offbeat bass drives the track forward with excellent synth work keeping the intense nature on point. Wonderful stuff from Nico and a must have in any box.

First up on remix is Inkfish who are four Swedes. Mattias Lindblom, Jesper Lindqvist and brothers Andreas and Johan Hermansson. These guys run their own label, Inkfish Recordings with Mattias or Andreas taking care of the production side of things. Johan and Andreas do all the DJ work while Jesper is a self-styled Bez from Happy Mondays character. Together these guys have a very impressive list of releases across many top labels and now we see their first appearance on Bonzai Progressive. The remix intros with some cool FX, synths and pads before a nice chunky kick takes over. The bass delivers a deep grooving flow while rising pads add beautiful textures with subtle melodic hints. Solid track with a big punch!

The very popular Manu Riga is up next with his Sofia By Night Remix. After their last and very successful outing on "Reborn" it's no wonder these guys are working together again, they click well in the studio and no doubt we will see a lot more from them in the future. The remix goes into full on mode with a massive snappy kick with a sharp click on top which really sets the scene up well for a trip down progressive lane. Some great FX and synth work give off subtle melodies with a very teasing vox lying in wait in the background. Superb bassline works wonders throughout the track and makes this a track you will never want to end.

Philippe Sartre & Chitra Kumar aka Philthy Chit deliver a stunningly epic progressive house experience with their remix. The intro slowly builds with simple percussions and a hypnotic synth note before blazing into a driving deep bass led groove. Intensity rises with wonderful pads and an amazing vocal sample. The magic happens on the break with deep resonating synths and melodic sequences before getting back into a full blown prog monster. A sure fire hit and a definite must have for those progressive sets.

Next up on the remix is Eric Hubo whom Nico has worked with in the past. Belgium based Eric has featured on tracks from Nico's Danza Records including "Metro", "S.A.X.X." and "Move Your Body" as well as works on LCD Recordings on "Romeo and Juliet". His remixes have also appeared on "A State Of Trance Classics Vol. 7" back in 2012. The remix sets off with a smooth kick and offset bass which is the perfect foundation for a progressive house journey. Cool FX and well crafted percussion provide a steady rhythm before the track settles in for the duration as the bassline shines through. Sweet melodic pianos are the focus on the break as sweeping phased synth pads shore up the background. The track kicks back into the steady groove and a beautiful prog house record in born, superb stuff.

Yuriy From Russia is our next guest with his Dark Remix. Yuriy has been churning out top quality productions in recent times most notably with his latest offering "Do You Feel" featuring the vocal talents of Ange. Chunky kicks and sharp hats get us moving on the intro with a warpy, thick bass soon following. Sweeping synths begin to come through and they provide stark contrasts with the bass which makes for a cool dynamic. Blippy FX work adds texture to the sound and all the while the groove has built into full on progressive mode. The break brings forth those sweeping pads and builds back into the main groove with a wall of noise. Very intense and very epic piece of work which no doubt get attention from all quarters.

Van Czar - Mar Menor (Bonzai Basiks)

The highly impressive Van is back to Basiks with his superb three track EP entitled "Mar Menor". Van, as usual remains a very busy producer and DJ with many remixes and original productions always on the go. His radio show, Bonzai Basik Beats Spain is going strong with many top artists performing and with many more to come. Based in Madrid, Van is a big part of the techno and deep house scene and recently his track "Vapeur Tardive" was showcased in a mix broadcast live on the UK's 6 Mix show by none other than the legendary Derrick May!

"Mar Menor" sets us off on this EP and the groove begins to flow from early on as the kicks and percussions gel together beautifully alongside a superb deep and chunky bass. The percussion arrangement leads to a solid rhythm with lots of fills keeping the vibe flowing. The break provides some very cool synth chords that really sets the track alight, superb stuff from Van and a track that is sure to feature on many sets!

"Arena Blanca" is up next and delivers a sharp edged groove with a cool techy vibe. Big chunky kicks take over the track from the off with a round of tight percussions blending nicely. A deep resonating bass weaves through the track as a strangely hypnotic synth comes forth. Very cool driving rhythms on this and a must for any box!

"OMG" dishes out some very cool kicks and crisp hats on the intro with more percussions building as the track progresses. The break is a masterclass in arrangement as rolling drums ebb and flow before kicking back. Strong grooves and solid rhythms burst through as a distant bass teases throughout. Wonderfully crafted track that would be a welcome addition for any DJ.

Gaulois - Living On The Music (Eyepatch Recordings)

French DJ and producer Gaulois delivers superb fresh sounding deep house beats with his two tracker, "Living On The Music". Gaulois is a moniker of one of Bonzai's newest signings Sebastien Desay and already we have seen some top quality productions from this guys with much more to come.

"Living On The Music" gives deep house a new lease of life with stunning fresh beats and a slow darkly groove. Excellent drum arrangements get the rhythm flowing while the bass reaches up from way down in the depths. The track has many quality features but a hypnotic synth and a wonderful spoken vocal are two elements that really shine through, one to watch!

"Young Talent" delivers a fantastic upbeat type of vibe with bright sounds and a retro style coming out of the drums and deep analogue bass. Lots of quirky one shot synth stabs keep the track fresh alongside a very cool rhythmic percussion arrangement. The vocal on this stands out beautifully and is the perfect companion to a stunning track.

metrONomes - Mea Culpa (Progrez)

Progressive DJing and production duo Jon ManimaL & Magros aka metrONomes are back with a superb three track dark progressive house offering. The guys have been regular features on Bonzai' classic label Progrez for some time now with their last release "AtomON" performing well on the circuit. This time around the quality remains on top form with their "Mea Culpa EP".

The title track "Mea Culpa" sets off on a dark progressive journey with a deep rolling bassline. Subtle percussions and FX start to build and a cool chunky kick settles into a nice groove. As the track progresses it delves into a full on hypnotic ride that digs deep into your mind. Expertly crafted and very faint pads rise up from the background adding great texture to the sound, top notch stuff yet again from these guys!

"Roots" is up next and takes on a cool prog house groove from the intro. Solid and steady rhythms are built on the tight drum arrangement with snappy percussions doing the job nicely. The bass resonates through the sound keeping the track firmly rooted while melancholic pads provide a hint of melody, superb effort and definitely one to watch!

"Vatos Locos" goes right into the action with a chunky kick and full on offbeat bass. Subtle pads weave through to great effect and a sinister vocal makes a show throughout. The track builds nicely with percussions coming through late on and delivering a flowing rhythm. Very haunting in places with a true deep progressive house vibe as the end result, excellent stuff!

Limyth - Reminiscence EP (Piston Recordings)

Debut appearance on Piston for Prague based producer Limyth aka Martin Vejvoda. "Reminiscence EP" comes with three superb deep house offerings.

"Reminiscence" kicks us off in style with a classic bass drum and deep house chord structure featuring sublime stabs. The rhythm builds nicely with crispy pure hats and claps before warm keys come through alongside a very cool bouncing bassline. Sweet melodic sequences add contrast and make this track a definite must have in any deeper set.

"Freeway" picks up the pace with solid flowing rhythm as the kicks and percussions begin to form. Warm and lush keys maintain a big focus throughout the track, melodies soon build and deep house bliss is reached. The bassline grabs attention with strong plucky sounds and ties the track up brilliantly.

"Formal Cause" is a deeper tough edged track with superb bass patterns and tight drum arrangements. This is contrasted by truly wonderful sweeping synth pads and expertly crafted melodic keys that weave intricate throughout, amazing stuff and definitely one to watch.

John Manning - Feelin Alright (Bonzai Basiks)

Belfast based John Manning aka one half of Brisboys, steps out on his own with a superb slice of tech with his latest offering "Feelin Alright". John has appeared on Basiks before with his track "Pikadeli Shindig" alongside Matt Silver. He has also seen solo releases on Baroque, Future Lovers and Remedy Records to name a few. John is also very much involved with DJing and can be seen regularly at top parties.

The Original mix gets us moving with a percussive intro providing the building blocks for a solid rhythm. A thumping kick soon makes an appearance with a wonderfully deep tough bass following shortly after. Very much a techno vibe here as the beats toughen up even more, a brilliant vocal sample is perfectly placed in the arrangement and makes for a must have track in any tech set!

The Synth mix ramps up the pressure as it belts out the superb techno grooves from the original mix, except this time we are treated to a wonderfully rich deep tech/house synth line that has retro written all over it. A monster of a tune with a catchy hook that will have the floors bouncing.

Koen Mertens aka Daddy steps up to the remix plate and is fresh off the back of his last release "Hidden Mojo" on Eyepatch Recordings. Koen certainly turns up the heat with his take on the original as the beats get dirtier and the tech gets groovier. Fantastic percussion arrangement on the intro coupled with a simple vocal snippet lead us into a very raw sounding groove as the kicks come through. Deep resonating basses fill the sound as a more sinister vocal shot is delivered, cool contrasts are drawn as warm synths filter through before a huge organ sound takes control, superb stuff yet again from Daddy!

Rion Oidua is back on remix duty after two very successful remixes for Tribal Warriors on "New York To Ibiza" and Zolex's "Vette Jahren". The remix gets down to a full on tech groove from the get go as the intro delivers a cool percussion and vocal combi. Driving beats take hold and the rhythm get flowing effortlessly. The track builds nicely with subtle sounds and risers coming through, a great funky riff comes in and offers a real focus as the sounds combine beautifully, another fantastic delivery from Rion.

Rishi K. - Inflection Point (Green Martian)

Rishi K. makes a return to Green Martian with the superb two tracker "Inflection Point". His last outing was back in May with the superb "Always Home" along with many other remixes.

"Inflection Point" sets us off in a cool house driven groove with warm synths and chunky kicks providing the intro. Fantastic vocals and melodic arps lead us into a full on house joint with the bassline taking centre stage. Very tight arrangements take us on a wonderful journey with sharp piano riffs coming through. The break is beautifully sublime and delivers a great build up back into a full on groovy house cut. Big tune here and one that is sure to be on a lot of playlists.

"Star People" goes for the jugular with a full on hypnotic vibe through the myriad of arps and rhythmic percussions. The kicks drop into a deeper side with a wonderful array of FX filling up the sound. The track continues to build relentlessly as big synths make a show alongside some spoken vocal samples. A truly sublime cut that will captivate and force you back for more!

Ozan Kanik - Fiction (Sounds R Us Recordings)

Ozan Kanik is one of those guys who never disappoints with consistently great productions. His recent double header on the SRUR "ADE" package was very well received and now he is back with another stomper "Fiction" which is backed up with three fantastic remixes.

The Original Mix comes at you with a pulsating rhythm from the off as the bass and kicks perform seamlessly. Cool percussive elements blend in nicely to give off a full on techno vibe. The drum arrangements are superb and keep the track on course while some great FX work finds its way through the sound, brilliant stuff!

Tom Hades offers up the first remix on this pack and this remix is one that featured on the recent ADE package. Belgium based Tom is a mighty figure around the techno scene with many remix requests and DJ gigs keeping him busy. Here he sticks to the roots of the original with another full flowing techno groove. A big focus is placed on a wonderful vocal sample that sits so well within the sound. A big hitter for sure and one to keep an eye on!

Chilean born DJ and producer Cristian Alexander Soto López aka Alessan Main is back at SRUR after a successful release "Storm" alongside Juciff. Alessan Main certainly beefs up the groove here with an intro to blow the speakers as a beautifully balanced kick and bass combi come at you like a runaway train. The percussions deliver a solid rhythmic state as the bass does its work while minimal vocal samples creep up from below. Fantastic arrangement and one to light up any floor.

Another returnee to SRUR is Vancouver based DJ and producer James Hopkins with his remix. James goes deeper and darker with this effort while maintaining that pulsating sound from the original due to the superb bass. A more restrained kick and nice crispy hat keeps the rhythm flowing while subtle vocal snippets and brilliantly applied FX keep the ear trained, superb stuff.

Various Artists - Alpha EP (Elements Records)

Bonzai are proud to welcome Elements Records as part of their ever expanding label family. Portuguese outfit Elements Records will no doubt be another main player in the world of deep, dark, and tribal-esque tech beats. To mark this new venture we have a superb three tracker entitled "Alpha EP" with tracks from three top notch Portuguese producers hailing out of.

First up is Pedro Goya with "How Soon You Forget". Pedro has been responsible for a slew of stunning works across many labels including Eyepatch Recordings, Bonzai Basiks, Piston Recordings, Bonzai Elemental and Moma. But most notably he has carved a solid niche from within his own label Troia Recordings, which he launched in 2007 and is still going strong today. This track delves straight into the darker side with muted kicks and distant percussions alongside a deep rising pad that gets you hooked from the off. The track continues to build with an expertly crafted myriad of percussive elements that add a strangely tribal feeling, top notch stuff.

Fragoso is up next with the awesome "Profundo". Lisbon based Fernando Fragoso has been developing his own techno and house styles since 2000. He has been a regular feature on many labels including AU Records, Bonzai Basiks, Mint & Mustard, Howz Choons, Monog Records and Bonzai Progressive. The track intros with a fantastic spoken vocal with whispering tones, in the background an amazingly lush deep synth fades through accompanied with sweeping FX. A nice and solid chunky kick blends in perfectly before more noted synths start to fill the sound. Cool hats and percussions form a steady rhythm as the vocal resonates before breaking down to just the voice and swirly sounds. The vibe kicks back into a full on deep and dark house groove that will be a feature on many playlists for sure, excellent stuff!

Luis Bravo rounds up this stunning EP with "Lotus". Luis is another top rated Portuguese producer with releases across various labels such as Bonzai Progressive, Bonzai Basiks, Eyepatch Recordings, Nouzone Music, Minar Records and most notably Monog Records. "Lotus" intros with a smooth kick and bass combi while a cool percussion arrangement builds into flowing rhythms. Wonderful synths play out a hypnotic groove alongside a brilliantly tweaked vocal sample. The track boasts an awesome array of blips and blops that adds textures to a tightly arranged composition. Deep and dark and a must for any late night session.

Mr Drew featuring Charles Lazer - Hot Jazz (AU Records)

After "Get Up!" Mr. Drew is back with "Hot Jazz", a joint venture between him and a newcomer, one half of the portuguese duo Lazer Mike and an extremely talented keyboarder, Charles Lazer.

Jonny Calypso & Dafar - Spirit (Bonzai Progressive)

Debut on BP for Jonny Calypso and Dafar, these two guys hail from Germany and they met for the first time in January 2011, they soon became good friends. Dafar has a big vinyl library at home and is a great graphic designer. Jonny has been creating his own tracks since 2009 and has worked with great artists like Criss Source, Jon Silva, Donique and Niels Van Gogh to name a few. Both these guys have the same taste in music which means they are open to everything with a good flavour and good progressive vibes.

"Spirit" gets right into a deep progressive flow from the off with snappy kicks and a very deep bass that reverberates through the sound. Crispy hats soon follow creating a cool rhythm and setting the scene for an epic journey. The minimal nature of the intro fades and superb synth sounds filter through. A monster of a tune with a driving progressive groove that will shake any floor!

"Unknown Reality" sets off with a superb kick, hat combi which provides a solid layer for the fantastic tough edged bassline to poke through. Great build up of sounds with a subtle percussion line have a big influence on the groove. Along with that we get a synth that gradually flows into the sound adding a cool texture. Wonderful hypnotic grooves and a must for any box!

Jakhira - Princess EP (Bonzai Progressive)

The very talented Belgium based producer Jakhira is back once again with another fine slice of progressive on his three track "Princess EP". Jacks recent outings have gained highly respected reviews from across the world with features among download portals becoming quite regular. This is a testament to the quality on offer from this guy with much more to come for sure.

"Princess" kicks us off with a lush progressive vibe constructed out of warm and melodic sounds. The intro has the classic kick, hat and percussion element, a cool synth sound fades through before leading up to a superbly deep bassline with some acid tweaks thrown in. Subtle melodies find their way through as the track winds down into the break before coming back to full on prog house mode, great stuff.

"Lingala" provides cool progressive beats with a wonderful guitar overlay that adds a little melody to the sound. Nice, solid rhythms with the drum section and a subtle yet highly effective bassline tie the track up beautifully. As the track eases on we see some classy sounds come in with melodies becoming more prominent, on the break these sounds blend together superbly creating a fine slice of prog which is not to be missed.

"UR Love" gets moving with some tight drum arrangements with classic deep house vibes running through. The bassline powers into the track and sets the scene for a fantastic house journey. Wonderful vocal samples lift the track up beautifully alongside superb synth work. Brilliant track with a retro feel and one that will please a lot of jocks.

Victor Maximiliano - Nightlife Unlimited (Eyepatch Recordings)

Back with another round of deep house goodness on Eyepatch is Victor Maximiliano and his three tracker "Nightlife Unlimited". Victor continues to provide top quality productions and remains a regular feature on Bonzai Basik Beats Radioshow. His last outing "Some Mellow Deep" gained a lot of recognition from all over which is a testament to his branch of deep grooves.

First up is the Deep Mix of "Nightlife Unlimited", chunky kicks and subtle percussions provide a solid base to build on as cool swirly synth chords break through. A deep bass punches through and is a perfect companion for the many house chords on offer. Smooth and steady rhythms that will be a great addition in any set.

"Gimme Some" intros with a smooth and groovy synth before a chunky kick punches in. Very crisp and sharp hats level things out and provide for a flowing rhythmic vibe. Wonderfully crafted synths in all shapes and sizes add a funky element and very clever arranging keeps things on track, great stuff yet again from Victor.

"Midnight Circus" goes straight into house mode from the off with an awesome kick and synth pad combination. A plucky bass comes through and creates a very upbeat groove with the percussions doing a great job on the rhythms. The track breaks into a massive synth driven riff filled with all the delights of a full on club fuelled vibe, expertly arranged and a definite must have!
